  • You've NEVER seen a rug this DIRTY ! MASSIVE transformation
This really could be the dirtiest rug you have ever seen, maybe not in real life but certainly on UA-cam.
I spent hours cleaning this rug and its so much better, but I was defeated by it. I wasnt happy with the end result.

Hi, I dare say my rug isn't the dirtiest in the world but having come from homelessness and shared housing finally into my own apartment 5 years later, at one point was donated a large rug from the community and eventually got carpets put down. The rug could really do with some love and I dread to think how dirty it really is. I would love for you to help sort it if possible but I don't know how to contact you. Second thoughts, I found your website on your youtube homepage.

@@MountainRugCleaning Oh god visually it looks nowhere near as bad but I suspect it is hiding some years of life. When it was delivered it was rolled up and wrapped in clingfilm and I noticed it starting to smell which became even more apparent when I rolled it out a few months ago. Aired out the living room and febreezed until the can was empty but I know it aint clean. It is a deep pile rug. The only other issue would be transporting it as I live near Birmingham.

just ask my family. it gets bought, put in the house and walked on/stood on until something spills on it, then it's laid outside with the intention of getting to it to scrub the rug clean, whether it's scrubbed or not it's left outside to "dry" for months where it's shuffled around until someone drops it in the mud or needs to use it in the grass/dirt where it stays forever until the next year or two and it's rediscovered, rinsed with a garden hose, hung up to dry and the process repeats. There's a reason I don't live with my family anymore.

I think it was on the "maggot-infested" carpet video, there was a comment about someone experiencing tingles from watching your content. And I think you replied that there are people who say that "this" as in carpet cleaning isn't ASMR. I think there are different types of ASMR. I think there are ASMR sounds but also a type of visual ASMR. I don't watch your videos because of the sounds so much as how satisfying it is to watch filthy carpets get shampooed and scraped and rinsed, scraped, and shampooed again, etc. I love the machinery, I love the tools. In this video in the beginning at about five minutes in, you show us the rug and surrounding area after the first shampooing before you scrape it. Why it's so satisfying to look at that, I don't know. But it is! I enjoy what I consider to be visual ASMR as much as ASMR sounds.

At what point does this rug cleaning turn from dirt leaving the rug to the rug just leaching it’s color? Because some of the older rugs have to leach a bit of color and make it hard to tell at the end if it’s dirt or not.

I clean my rugs twice a year, in the fall I use the typical home carpet machine for a quick wash, and in the spring, I take them out to the patio and with a 13" buffer from amazon, a power washer, fresh air and sunshine to dry, they get once a year, I just picked up 2, 75 yr old, hand knotted from Iran, that are going to have wait till spring to clean, because I won't resell a rug without an impeccable cleaning, I have some beautiful antique Persians and oriental silks bought from auctions and estate sales, I wish you or Jakub were in my area... I would definitely trust either of you with cleaning my rugs, and I don't trust most places, I've had bad experiences before which is why I started doing it myself.. .. great video. you do have a soak tank.. it's called the bathtub... that's where I soak mine..lol
