The amphibious tank is a real thing. The Type 2 Ka-Mi was the first amphibious tank of the Imperial Japanese Navy, produced in 1942. Now, for *my* favorite part of this episode... At the end of this episode we're introduced to the "White Witch". A direct reference to Finland's White Death. Simo Häyhä, nicknamed "White Death". A sniper who fought during the Winter War (1939-1940, when the Soviet Union tried to invade Finland). Arguably the most successful sniper of all time, with an estimated 505 kills during the Winter War. All within a span of 100 days. Before das FINALE 3 aired I already knew about this guy, so when we first see this new character appear, I immediately thought of Simo Häyhä. Once Mika drops the name "White Witch" I had the biggest, stupidest grin on my face. Your homework before watching das FINALE 4 is to read up about him. Dude was a machine.
That cliffhanger is INSANE! A detail I really appreciate of this episode is Erika and the Panzer III commander jumping from tank to tank at distances not unlike what Miho jumped in episode 11 when she rescued Rabbit. Just casually showing that was not a fluke or even Miho being Nishizumi, Kuromorimine aims to trains their tankers to those standards (Erika and Koume in particular take their physical training very seriously). And we finally see Erika starting to branch from Nishizumi style and stepping out of the shadow cast by Shiho and Maho. Her change across the entire series is just something to behold. Oh, and on the Rabbit crew. Azusa Sawa is the commander Karina Sakaguchi is the driver Saki Maruyama is the loader of the turret cannon Aya Oono (glasses) is the gunner of the turret cannon Ayumi Yamagou (long black hair) is the gunner of the hull cannon Yuuki Utsugi (short black hair) is the radio operator/loader of the hull cannon Yuuki has the distinction of being the only girl in the show confirmed to have been in a relationship, but her boyfriend broke up with her once she started to take the sport more seriously.
Over 2.5 years for the next part, and longer for the BD release for us that can't make it to cinemas there. The wait was excruciating, but it's a Garupan tradition given that we even had the original TV anime's end hit with a delay. I love Alisa's concurrent sideplot that we constantly get. Good stuff, and poor her.

We had to wait like 2 years after that ending for part 4 to come out
Imagine the torture
I believe it. I had to really buckle down and not watch Finale 4 after this one lol.
Welp, guess I'm not going to bed for another... *checks video time* 51 minutes and 30 seconds.
