A lovely fishing session on Blyth pier with Mark at the end of October, a few species caught between us. Bait used was Black Lug, Mussel, Mackerel and Bluey.
Back in the 1960s me and me mates used to fish Blyth (West) pier or the Cambois pier. Lots of dabs and flounders and puddlers in the River, codling on the sea side. One day we turned up and about 40 feet of the pier had vanished overnight. A ship had gone straight through the pier in fog. Many happy memories.
Thanks Roland, I try to use the action of the rod to launch the bait, rather than using my body strength. Technique over power, my 13’ bass rod is a fantastic caster. Cheers for watching
You're getting pretty good Hinny. Not only are you consistently catching fish, but they are lip hooked too, which shows you are paying attention. A good day out, well done both of you.
That first fish is a Haddock. A fish that was always sporadic where I grew up fishing in the Irish sea, where I caught them from a boat but never from the shore, so well done, it is something I have always wanted to catch from the shore. Those Blackback gull really are greedy AF 😂
Excellent session and a couple of nice codling. I was wondering where the haddock had gone, they used to be nuisance fish when boat fishing for cod many moons ago but I haven’t seen one for years.
I’m new to your channel, it’s nice to see a lady angler who is an obviously competent angler. I don’t mean to sound condescending but not all female anglers like to get their hands slimy or covered in bait juices. The codling are small but at least you are catching some. Here where I live in East Anglia they are so scarce we call them unicorns.
love the video, great to see plenty of fish get caught, im just started out in fishing so have loads to learn, ive just subbed to your channel and will work my way through your other videos, the filming part im finding harder than the fishing bit but its good even just to keep a video diary of my fishing for kids to watch
Haddock 😊. An easy giveaway is the black "thumbprint" just behind the head. They also have lovely white trimmed dorsal and anal fins. Loads about this year, it's really good to see. Enjoyed yet another great video. Tight lines 👌
@fishinghinny my mate had one on Saturday night when the burnside cod ticklers was out will have to get you out with me and Josh one night through the week

Nothing beats the sound of a screamin reel 👍
Haha mine does scream quite a bit, I should really oil it a bit more often 😆
It's worth going fishing for the views, atmosphere and any fish caught is a bonus.
Yeh, catching is welcome but not always necessary. It’s about being outdoors and not thinking about the problems of life 👍
Good show Henry keep it up💯
Thank you, we shall do 👍🐟

I think Haddock stocks are increasing in the North Sea. Reduction in commercial catches ?
Cheers, less commercial trawling can only be a good things 👍🐟
