These kind of mods really make me wish that Paradox actually made East Vs West which could have spawned a proper series of it's own, possibly being a combo of Vic2 and Hoi4 with many unique elements.
There's a couple of paradox like games that do that (cold war / post cold war grand strategy). The issue is that it's really not that fun when you only have 1-3 Super Powers that can easily dominated the world and a bunch of nukes.
@@Palora01 I think it's still a fun frame work to make a good game, if proper AI and mechanics are developed. I can see the third world being very fun to play like in the Middle East, Africa, LATAM, South East Asia, etc. Expansion on the asymmetrical warfare and constant arms race for the bigger powers. There's definitely a gem to be found in it.
More please, this is not going to lie, one the best videos you've made. The editing is just a good balance, but the music choices and the overload of escalation happening is just so entertaining
I love CWE, but it requires a very specific type of player that is willing to engage with the game in ways that don't involve constant warfare, and are willing to live with the consequences of their actions. And uh, good luck finding people like that playing Vic 2, much less any paradox game community

This is the hottest take but i actually prefer the victoria 3 version of CWE, it adds so many mechanics such as the IMF, inflation and banking, housing, and so on and is what victoria 3 should have been. You wont be playing a lot of war in either version, so the better experience imo is victoria 3... Although vic 2's politics make far more sense (cwe for vic 2 adds a mechanic so the party in charge is less likely to win the next election for example. Lots of great additions)
I wouldn’t dispute that. When you say the Vic3 version of CWE, do you mean the actual continuation by the same person, or the “Cold War Project” which actually seems to be overshadowing it?

The only thing CWE is superior in is graphics, because CWP devs covered the game in AI-generated stuff which just looks so fucking ugly. I wouldn't play either though, since Vic3 is still totally underbaked.

The problem i have with the mod is its utterly torturous to upgrade factories as u have so many and they need being upgraded so fast
