Maiden voyage for the twin engine dragster. Blown alcohol 350 small block Chevy + 427 Big block Chevy. Both motors are on a very mild tune up just to get it down track so the car has a potential 6 second pass in it. Engines are clocked 45 degrees apart to have them run as a V16 rather than 2 V8s. Budget aluminum heads. 6-71 blowers. Enderle bug and bird catchers. Vertex mags. Mike's Monsterglide transmission. Spooled 9" with 4.33s. Kauai Raceway Park, Hawaii. Outside video courtesy of Ricky Uemura.
Very nice, but why 2 different kinds of engines?
We were originally going to use two small blocks but decided to go with a big block in the rear because it has a larger crank snout to take the power from the small block.
@@ratcamaro thanks. I wonder how many people would have thought that. Anyway, I like your car. Looks like lots of fun!
Is it twice as fast or 1.5 times as fast like that? Always liked those cars in the cartoon magazines.
@@charlesgomez4495 Car ran 7.40s with just the big block. We got the twin engine combo in the 6.80s: ua-cam.com/video/DwQWgpT6xQ8/v-deo.html
A foot brake?
I launch off the trans brake.
I've seen 6 something second cars with one engine.

They don't go any faster so why two engines?
Just for fun!
Why not two engines?
Ever heard of Tommy Ivo? Look him up!
Quite " POOCHY " for a double engine
Better? ua-cam.com/video/DwQWgpT6xQ8/v-deo.html
