- Describes a basic and simple procedure to analyze space in a given dental arch from an orthodontic cast. Please forgive the shaking of the camera as I was doing the demo and photography alone.
You will need a study cast, a digital or vernier caliper, a space analysis form to record your measurements, and a calculator (if you are lazy).
Thank you for sharing this! I really appreciated this video!

can you give us an idea how to do the space analysis in mixed dentition cases ?
I will try to make a video about that in the future
There are a number of statistical and radiographic methods. The one I use most is the simplified Tanaka and Johnston method.
can you please explain the Bolton method too?
Thank you so much for the tutorial.... it was very informative and helpful
what's the name of the caliper you are using in the vedio
This is just a simple "Vernier Caliper". I usually prefer digital calipers since I can work faster with them. So I recommend digital. I only used this because I want teach my students how to use it.

Asma Hafizi we typically conduct space analysis from mesial of 6 to mesial of other 6. And hence, we typically don’t include the 6s in required space. This is because the available space we measured is where 5-5 should be. You can include the 6s in required space, but then u have to modify the analysis by measuring your available space from distal of 6 to distal of other 6.
