Bought Mighty Max brand replacement batteries twice now. They are a perfect fit, last ones were the standard 12v 7ah ones like original. This time I installed 12v 9ah ones. They are exact same size but have an extra plate to deliver more current and run longer if you lose power. I read several reviews first and they work fine, the acorn 130 stair lift charger has zero problems charging them. If you decide to upgrade to 9ah you will need to buy terminal adapters to go from 1/4" F2 Terminal size on 9ah down to 3/16" F1 terminal size on the 7ah. Adapter is F2 female to F1 male. I bought Mighty Max batteries on Amazon, and got the adapters from Battery source. You can get batteries at your local battery store as well as adapters. You pay about $10-20 more for the batteries locally. - Leonard Manchester, Georgia

Thank you for the clear, simple and concise video on replacing the batteries. So direct, it's the best way to show instruction. Thank you !! this is a lifesaver. So I had one battery read 10.67 volts and the other 13.37.
So I put the low reading battery on a charger and as soon as it made contact with the charger it read 13.37 instead of the 10.67.. I'm charging it now and will see, but I ordered batteries earlier today.
So I wonder if the charger on the stairlift is acting up as that battery was also warm or if it's just the battery. Anyone with a similar experience or have an idea to what might be happening? thanks !

You are welcome. Based on your description it sounds like a battery issue. We would recommend to start with installing the batteries you ordered and see if that solves the issue.

You might’ve shown the reassembly process and given info on where to buy a replacement battery.

Will this video work for the ACORN Supreglide 130 T700? When this is installed and you then want to change the batteries, can you get access to the side facing the wall? For example lets say the chair looking up the stairs is on the left side going up and this would then be on the right side going down. Can you get access to the screws on the side of the wall? thanks

This process will work with Acorn 120, 130 and 130 T-700 models. On the 130 T-700 the jumper cable between the batteries looks different, but same process will work. For the screws on the side near wall. Depending on how tight it is to the wall you may need to try these options 1) use a stubby screw driver, 2) use a right angle adapter in a drill, or 3) use a Philips head bit in a pair of vice grips. Ultimately, if it is too tight to access the screws, you may need to remove from the rail to change the batteries.

does chair need to be reprogrammed when old batteries are removed and new ones installed?? Or is it simply "plug and play"?

For the straight stairlifts, it is plug and play.

We do not service curved Acorn stairlifts, so I can't be certain.

There is no single answer to this question. I've several brands of batteries from original installations, nothing consistent.

@@mobilitystairlifts4678 Have you had one brand that last longer than another? My experiences with using them with alarm systems has been some last longer than others.
