下面總結一下我看完後的反饋和想法：
1) Completely agree on the point about "perfect English". Language is incredibly fluid, and the idea of speaking "perfect English" or "perfect mandarin" is ultimately a chase with no end. Would "perfect" mean no incorrect grammar? Or the "perfect" vocabulary for every situation? Well, when you look at either of those, you realize that neither of them make sense. Sometimes a situation, usually a comedic one, calls for intentionally weird grammar to convey a certain feeling. And as for a "perfect" vocabulary, that's utterly subjective. Is G.R.R. Martin's vocabulary more "perfect" than J.K. Rowling's? No. Each one used the word and phrases most appropriate to the specific situation they were writing about.
2) In the middle of a conversation about Western entertainment, how did Dena NOT break out into "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid at 3:45????
3) As for the dating = language level up question, my experience is that it's actually less effective than just spending lots of time getting input from YT, podcasts, books, etc. Like the say in the video, ultimately the most important factor is your connection to that PERSON, not their language, and you'll both end up using the language that most easily allows you to explore that connection. Plus, as a guy, I feel like most girls wouldn't want to date a guy who was still at an intermediate in Mandarin, yet insisted they always use mandarin. Not a very suave move for the guy -- hard to be Pierce Brosnan when you don't know how to say 寶貝小聲點我爸剛回家了
4) We now have a a new level of insight into Lily's relationship with her plants...
5) I need to go shoot some guns and pound some protein shake to up my testosterone level, because it feels like I just dove into a backyard swimming pool of estrogen for 15 minutes.

I discovered Taiwanese hip hop a couple of years ago and that was my main drive when I started to study Chinese at 46. Like Dena said, I just want to know more about the artists and the lyrics. It was what made me want to learn English in the first place more than thirty years ago also with hip hop music (I'm Spanish native speaker).
And also found out I can learn some Chinese with your channel while you're teaching English to Chinese speakers. It may sound weird but I think it works. My Chinese level is very, very beginner, but, being in Argentina, UA-cam is my main source.
And also as Dena I always talked to myself in English. Now I'm started to do it in Chinese.

其實Dena 有講到一個我很認同的 就是你要有核心的思想,我看了很多在國外工作或留學的人,不知道是信心不足還是覺得外國都比較好,跟外國人社交時都會一味的奉承,變得很不像自己,你不把自己當一回事別人可能就不會那麼重視你,這或許是很多人沒辦法當地交到很多朋友的原因吧,不管在台灣還是國外都是一樣的,其實跟外國人工作久了,真的也是常常遇到一群笨蛋或者沒水準的,就只是因為他們比較敢表達,很多人就會以為他很有想法,其實不用因為會講英文就覺得他好像比較厲害,永遠核心價值是最重要的

美式發音大家好像是在用喉嚨那個腔在發音,
得確語感先會的話,文法幾乎只要簡單掃過就完全融會貫通

其實高額頭現今審美是比較受歡迎的耶！我因為額頭又凹又短花了好多錢才敢露出額頭，沒錢的時候都一直用瀏海遮，瀏海在某些職業真的很不吃香，一直被當妹妹和被質疑專業能力，直到露出額頭情況才變好。

I've followed you two for a while, I've been learning English all by my own, and that's really frustrating I can't talk more with people around me, so I always watch videos from UA-cam, I subscribed many youtubers like you, Dena, JR ,Jonas, and Victor etc, it's really helping me a lot because no more charged needed. I can't afford the tuitions, 😢😢
My main problem is I'm really shy and nervous to chat with people face to face, and I realized I can undersd the videos or movies, even a lot of articles, but it's so hard to be speaking fluently like you all.
Dena is right, the accent just like a makeup, it's a perfect metaphor to describe my feeling.
And you two say speaking to self and reading it out loud is a good way to enhance comprehension,right?
I will try and wish someday I can take my first step to be confident talk with others,😢
