I have been dating a roller derby girl recently. I didn't know roller derby was a real thing before her. She so awesome in and out of competition and should be on every cereal box.
daweeee
She also has an adorable daughter in Jr Roller Derby. This is very intimidating for me because they are both so awesome and I am basically an idiot.
Join roller derby. Problem solved ;)
El Americano Awwww. sooooo cute
El Americano get you a man who thinks you belong on cereal boxes.
I personally found this to be one the best 30 day challenge type of videos because it was realistic but super positive and inspiring props ladylike
Aisha Revolus This is not a Lady Like video.
still had ladies in it
This is boldly wt the heck 😂😂😂
all they do is cryyyyyyyy so muchhh
"Whoopie Rollberg"
I'm sorry but I died laughing. I want to be best friends with her.
She's kind of great!
haha thank you :) Always looking for more friends!
It way better than my name lol, mine is mack daddy lol
How does everyone get their nicknames? They're always so cool, do you pick your own haha?
TonOfHats it depends, sometimes a teammate comes up with it, sometimes you come up with it. You ultimately have the final decision, though.
-Katheryn America
When she said adults come in carrying decades of, "I can't..." O.O destroyed me..
as a British roller derby player, this video is EXACTLY what we needed to erase the stigma around our community!
You have a stigma around derby in Britain?
Steph D yeah! whenever I mention that I am a derby player they think it is for 'butch lesbians' and it is not a real sport. Rather discriminative really however these reactions are from my school and people can be pretty ignorant.
Sian Vincent well, I think you're exactly right that sharing this video can change those perceptions.
In 10yrs no one has ever said that to me about derby in the UK
CazPiranha unfortunately my classmates are very ignorant.
I'm an artistic/figure roller skater and one thing I suggest people remember when they are finding skating hard is you have wheels on your feet and from just that you are already defying the odds!!!
Lilybelle McHardy me too!! There aren't many of us so it's great when I find a fellow roller figure skater
My dream is to be a figure roller skater, unfortunately I cannot be artistic wearing my rollers yet
Same!! You have mini cars on your feet, your moving. Your already doing amazing.
Women try learning an instrument for 30 days!!!
Ria Ray I totally agree!!!
Ria Ray OMG YEESSS
It would be fun to see who learns quicker
Ria Ray yes!!!
Ria Ray DRUMS
I play roller derby, I'm only twelve. I have been playing for 7 years, roller derby is a total badass sport and it is amazing, fun, and challenging. I feel like more people should be aware of this sport.
QueenHarleyQuinn123 Your not the only one who plays Roller Derby 😁 I'm a junior tho for 1 year now. Edit: almost 3 now.
Wow, that's weird! Where I live you must be 18+ in order to join a team! All my teemates are around 25 years old.
Im 13 and i play :) I've been playing for 4 years...
I’m in the Mischief’s junior derby team :) been there around 8 months now ;)
Tal Dun junior roller derby specifically jrda has nationals and even a world cup
As a derby girl from Ireland, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for trying this out and making this video! You are all amazing women xoxo
Helen Kate Lynch I'm a derby girl in Canada!!! *Hi five* What's your team called?
Ariel Francis Angel Blade, is this you???
Ariel Francis I'm also in Canada! what league are you with?
Nikki L. Wirtz Oh hi Nikki!! Kayla Marie Clark I play for Team Saskatchewan (with Nikki lol) and Gas City Regulators in Alberta. Who do you play for?
Ariel Francis Derby is such a small world lol. Weird seeing someone I know irl on UA-cam comments!
I wanna join a derby team just so I can get a nickname.
Faithbomber
Faith I can almost guarantee there's a team near you. You could join, or even if you don't wanna skate we always need Non Skating Officials to help run the bouts and keep the skaters/points/penalties in line, and you can get a name doing that too,
YASS names r the best
Faith Shadow fox
Ellen Rage is mine
I have played roller derby for 4 years and seeing this in my subscription box made my life.
Rebecca Hall same
sAme!!
Rebecca Hall honestly, me too and this is coming from a derby girl too☺
Former derby ref here!
same
This really made me want to learn how to play derby
DO IT!
do it !!!!
You should try it! I actually go to the derby dolls, and it’s really fun!
Patience Stevens you should it’s so fun
YES! I am a junior roller derby girl myself and this Is amazing that its finally being able to get the word out more for this amazing sport!
Eves Bear yes!!! what team are you on?
Junior Derby is so cool!!
I skate with The San Antonio Sugar Skulls in Texas. Our league name is Heart Of Texas Skaters. Do you skate?
Eves Bear I'm also a junior player
Awesome! Same!
I've always wanted to try derby but I've been too afraid. This has inspired me to look into it for real!
Brittany Irene i hope you’ve found a team! once you finish your first practice everything is a lot less scary. i learned that. i was excited but so anxious, but after 2 hours of practice i felt like i could do anything!!!!
I've always wanted to do roller derby but I'm to scared of hurting myself 😂
Claire Hess as long as you wear the right equipment and you learn the basics before you start getting physical, you'll be safe! can't promise that you'll be 100% safe, though... i only get bruises on occasion
Injuries do happen - not gonna lie - but for the most part it's all bumps and bruises. And they train you before you're allowed to participate in contact and there are over 40 skills you need to be able to preform safely before you play so between that and the safety equipment it's not as rough and tumble as movies like whip it make it out to be
The fear of hurting yourself is nothing compared to the joy of pushing yourself. Seriously. Roller Derby is one of the BEST things I ever did for myself. I did break my ankle playing but I still love the sport & it has empowered me in so many ways!
Claire Hess I started roller derby when I was 12 and the worse injury I got was being hit in the face and I nearly got my tooth nicked out but that's what gum shields are for
I was afraid of that too... I learned little bit by little bit and now I'm trainer, all star level skater, and got to train these amazing women too! You could hurt yourself rolling out of bed, doesn't stop you from getting up in the morning ;)
Hi, I have been a derby player for 2 years now! I had to practice for 2 years just to get laps (skating in a circle) down! I am so happy you tried it! Seeing you all try so hard and getting better each time is amazing! Good job!
This is exactly why some sort of self defense or martial art should be taught in school. In my opinion there are waaaaaaaay too many people who arent confident and unathletic at an age where you should be. People need more physical adversity.
Elitist Sport Some people just don't like sport, for me sports in school are terrible.
Nina Tsoutsanis Yeah, but getting into the habit of exercising regularly when young is a great way to keep kids healthy, and hopefully this habit stays with them into adulthood. You don't have to enjoy it, just do some excersise for maybe 10 minutes a day, and make it part of your daily routine.
Edit: by "you" I'm not targeting you specifically, just it'd be great people in general could do this
Sports take money and money when you are poor is hard when you are young. Easier when you have a job only roller derby is few of the sports that women can do without age limitations
vsusanmoon also a lot of moms do roller derby as well and they love it
Agree 100%
Poor Jazz is in every month long trial thing hahahaha
It's so she can lose weight, hopefully.
Yeah, I think that's pretty cool of her. She's going outside of her comfort zone and said she wants to get healthier. It's inspiring! I can't wait to see how she keeps challenging herself.
Wow those other roller derby women are so open and kind. I'm really surprised!
Why surprised?
Kate B
we are the most awesome and kind! lol huge misconceptions...we are bad asses not bad people 💙
one of my friends does roller derby and she's the sweetest person on the planet. she's definitely tough and a badass, but she's such a sweetheart
roller derby is definitely a very kind, open hearted sport. We're all super duper kind and sweet to each other :) The sport alone creates a lot of trust on the track and off the track between players, it's like a little family. I've personally been part of my derby team for 7 years, and I'm the team captain, and it's like my own little family to get away to :)
that’s one of the best parts of derby! no hard feelings. if you knock someone over and the jam ends, you give em a hand and a smile. let love roll!!!
This made me cry, it's so inspiring. I've been extremely harsh on myself for the last few months, and this lifted me up a little.
If all goes well with this pandemic dying down, I’ll be trying out for roller derby in the fall. I’ve been wanting to try it since 06’ but I’ve been hard on myself for how small I am. But I’m going to be hitting the gym to prepare myself, pray for me y’all. I’m scared shitless but SO excited!!
We all have insecurities - I´m over 6ft tall and very muscular, so keeping my balance is a lot tougher but I recently learnt how to skate properly - I hope you managed to find a team to try out! :)
I actually read a comic about this called "roller girl"
It's a graphic novel not a comic
Yeah I read it too-
XY I did to thats how i found out about it and i thought it was such a cool amazing sport
However im too young to play but when im older i wanna be a roller derby player because its such an empowering sport for wonen
@@emma818 there's probably a junior league near you I play junior derby
Who else loves these kind of videos🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️
Rethika 13 these videos are the best
Ria Ray Ikr
Rethika 13 these make me have a better self esteem
meeeeee. so inspiring and a reminder to just try something new for the sake of trying something new. it's a good way to discover your true passion.
video suggestion: give Morgan a weekend getaway where she gets pampered and can relax. then give her money for a shopping spree so She can get glammed up and have a nice dinner. She looks tired and worn out in every single video. She needs some TLC ASAP.
I've always really really wanted to try roller derby, but I've never known if I could.
Just try it, look up which local roller derby teams are in your area and in get in contact with them and just go and watch them practice and try it one you feel comfortable.
Mikhela Kurzhal do it! anyone can do it! it's got a spot for any body type, age, etc. all you have to do is refuse to quit! it's awesome!
You can! No skating experience required, they will teach you everything you need to know, and I guarantee it will be one of the best decisions you've ever made in your life
You can! People from all different backgrounds, with totally different interests, people who are super athletic & people who aren't athletic. That's part of the beauty of derby is the diversity of people from all walks of life & athletic skill
Kjn
As a teen who’s been doing derby for going onto 6 years I’d say that everything these woman said is extremely accurate and shines a positive light on a normally violent viewed sport
This must have been really impactful. It is the only 30 day experiment that I have seen where the participants say they would continue beyond 30 days.
Because Roller Derby is life changing, it grabs you and then all of a sudden it becomes you entire life
I LOVE my sport becoming mainstream and it slowly breaking down the stereotypes that surround it. Roller derby is an amazing sport for women and girls and I'm glad the world is finally learning that.
im suprised they had them try banked track flat track is much more wide spread and is easier to learn as a new skater
Yeah me too. They literally just put up one near me and even as someone who has been skating for years it took my just a little bit to get the hang of it. Both are challenging in their own regards though. Jamming is way easier on flat track in my opinion.
Sierra Klapproth they were on the flat track for quite a while, learning little things on the banked track until they felt comfortable enough to race on it.
it makes me so happy to see these kind of videos about roller derby, it really shows how supportive and loving the derby fam is. ive been playing it for almost 4 years now and i cant explain how wonderful this sport is. derby love from Australia 💖💖
I just keep thinking of the family guy episode where Meg tries roller derby
YAS
the LA derby dolls actually helped with getting the derby aspects right on that episode!
And actually one of their artists is a former skater. :)
I love how the skaters get to pick out badass names for themselves! This video inspired me to look up my local roller derby league . . . I'm going to join the beginner's skating class. :)
Jazz is queen of buzzfeed, she is gorgeous and super funny!!!! I love that she is in more of these videos!!!!!
Y'all should do People try marching season. Because at my school I get told that marching band is something that ANYONE can do even if they never done it..
You kind of can, though... Marching band is a lot of hard work, endurance, and practicing, but my marching band was one of the best in the region and newbies picked it up pretty fast because we had good leadership. I didn't start until my senior year when my band director convinced me to join and I thought it was loads of fun.
I actually play roller derby for Lincolnshire Bombinoes
I’m a junior in rollerderby my mom has been in a team for 5 years ❤️
I loved watching this video cause I’m doing my first roller derby session tomorrow and I’m sooo nervous but excited. I’ve wanted to try it for years and I’m finally taking the plunge 😁
I love roller skating, it’s literally my life passion, but I don’t do roller derby, I never have, and I don’t know if I ever will. I know a lot about it, and that’s why I don’t necessarily want to. I do ramps and half pipes though. I understand that’s no where near derby level, but I do get lots of big bruises that hurt, and I understand how it feels to be knocked down by someone, and just basically knocked down by myself I guess, so I know how they feel. I recently got back into roller skating after I bought my first pair of skates and I feel so much stronger and healthier from just doing ramps and speed skating on concrete. 😅
such a great message for life in general....we all fall and sometimes a lot but keep getting up and trying
7:05 😂👌 the best roller derby name
If you can't take a hit don't consider derby it's honestly not for everyone. I chipped my bone doing derby and it's not for the weak hearted and it's physically demanding, but that being said there is nothing that I would trade for this sport and my derby family.
There's the idea of "not being able to take a hit", and then there's the idea that your body can surprise you with what it's capable of. I'm not a big fan of smacking your friends, but hot damn. I never thought I'd be able to absorb a hard hit like I have in Roller Derby. *Edit: Wanted to pitch in the idea that I can remain on my two feet 70% of the time.
I appreciate that you brought more attention to the roller derby community. Roller derby is such a wonderful experience that everyone should try because you can learn so much about yourself and others just by one practice. I moved the summer before my senior year of high school and was able to participate in the junior roller derby team in Salt Lake City, UT for one year before I left for college. My mom skated for DC Roller Derby a couple years before and now my sister and my father are skate referees who love what they do. I referee and skate when I come home for breaks and weekends. Thank you so much for bringing so much more attention to a sport that doesn't get as much attention as other sports!!
P.S - I am really impressed you tried bank track instead of flat track!
I'm really disappointed. Who else thought they were actually going to compete in a game?
SparklsandRainbows in order to compete in a derby bout (especially as adults) the players have to be masters of their skates. a simple few weeks won't allow them to bout without injury. i wish they still would have been able to bout, but they would have to go with months of practice in order to bout
Yeah you have to pass what's called minimum skills (I play flat track derby but I imagine banked track is similar) before you're allowed to bout. This includes a number of skills like being able to skate 27 laps in five minutes, jumping, weaving, hitting, falling safely, etc. and you cannot learn all that and be safe within a few weeks.
They could maybe scrimmage, but bouts take a lot of experience and skill.
Yeah they could probably do a fresh meat scrim. In all the leagues I've trained with we've always had to pass most if not all of the minimum skills to scrim too (just because you gotta be safe and the people around you gotta be safe).
There are over 40 skills that you need to be able to pass before being able to participate in a bout or even scrimmage in most cases and it would be pretty much impossible (unless you are already an athlete) to master them all in just 30 days worth of practices
Why not flat track...?
Save yourself heaps of issues learning to skate on the bank.
Get yo self to your local derby league
Its used for races and helps them go faster
I came here to say the exact same thing. For new skaters the learning curve probably wouldn’t have been so steep on a flat track
true! also, benefit of flat track is you can set up shop pretty much anywhere. once, i played a bout in a Harley Davidson dealership’s parking lot lol
Flat track isn't worth watching!!!
Okay but have you tried flat track
I know this is a year old comment, you probably won't see this, but what do you mean ? Are you saying flat track is harder or easier ? I've never been on a banked track :((
ftgv1 as a flattrack skater as well, flat track looks hella easier to skate over, I feel like if it’s slanted your being pulled downwards and slanted rather than just to the ground. Either way derby is hard as you know tho haha
I play flat track. But I can see how you might get better leverage on a slanted track like that!
I've been playing derby since I was 15 and seeing all the new skaters and their pain in their face I always try to be there for them. All the players have been there. But as someone who has been plying for years and seeing your new players every practice you see so much improvement. Its fucning hard but it is so worth it in the end and seeing your improvement in the video was amazing. Please don't give up, this sport is the most amazing thing ever. And plus I couldn't even do the slanted track. In Canada we have flat track. So props to all of you throwing yourself in there and giving it your all. You are all amazing and inspiring women❤
This video is amazing! As someone who plays roller derby it is hard at some points and you get some pretty amazing bruises but it's worth it in the end ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rachel Mcmanmon Yes it's very worth it I play Roller derby and I like to see I'm not the only one
I just started learning roller skating as an adult. I used to do roller blading but I feel like they're completely different! I have fallen a total of three times during the past month or so of learning this on my own. Each time I fell, I learned a different lesson. And the most recent time I fell on my butt and didn't scrape my knees/arms. You learn how to fall safely and you're golden! When it doubt, knees bent and booty out. Let yourself squat close to the floor and if you fall it won't hurt !
I don't know why but this made me want to cry. I just want a community like this so badly. Stupid pandemic 😭
I've been doing roller derby for about 4 years now (I'm 17) and I'm absolutely in love with it. This video shows the good and the bad of it all. Derby pushes us in every way possible, I'm so grateful to have such an amazing sport be a part of my life ❤
I am going into jr. Roller derby soon I am so excited!
For those of you who don’t know what they are playing in the video is Bank track. Flat track is the more wide spread mostly because with flat track there are more available venues cause we can play damn near anywhere with a flat hard open surface. Derby is so much fun
Whip it anyone?
Anna Henderson I LOVE THAT MOVIE 🤩🤩🤩
i started skating because of that movie
I joined my local flat track derby league and it has changed my life....never before have I been surrounded by such supportive and encouraging ladies...I recommend it
Literally have been wanting to try Roller Derby for like 4 years now, sadly, my city doesn't have a league and the nearest one to me is flat track which I'm not keen on.
Also, I haven't actually learned to skate yet and I wouldn't be able to because my city doesn't have a skate rink either 😂👌
Bee Bishop even if you aren’t into flat track, definitely give it a shot! banked track is expensive and most leagues play flat track anyway because it can be set up anywhere. it’s much easier for sustaining a league cost-wise
I have a lot of feelings about this video, and I didn't expect to be so impressed with it. I have been playing roller derby for three years now, and I can say with all my heart it saved my life. The only thing I was really disappointed about was that it featured banked track derby, which is the super amazing original sport that everyone knows, but flat track derby is such an accessible, fast growing sport, and it's so rarely promoted in the way banked track is. The LA derby dolls are totally rad, and I love the fact that this was such an honest look at the sport, not focusing on fishnets and derby names like so many videos do. There will almost definitely be a derby team near you, so please do go support them, especially the juniors because they're just so far beyond amazing.
Next time come out for flat track roller derby. The Middle Georgia Derby Demons would love to host you.
One of the women who was trying this for 30 days made a comment that could change a person's thinking re learning--pretty much anything. She said that she learns differently from differently from different people. That is a concept that I never, ever heard from the perspective of a student--of anything! Kudos to her for realizing that! It will stand her in good stead for the rest of her life!
"An emotional *roller* coaster..."
The Los Angeles Derby Dolls organization is a model organization. These women empower each other and it really shows on and off the track. I can't wait for the next scrimmage.
I have a suggestion for a video how about women try rowing for a month or longer. I'm a rower and I love it I want people to know more about it as it is tough but a thrilling sport that takes a lot of effort and teamwork.
Amazing video! Thanks all who made this happen. I'm having serious doubts but wanting to try my local derby training. I needed to see this.
If I'm good at ice skating would I be good at roller derby?! Cuz I really want to try after watching this
Themida Virus I started roller derby with strong ice skating skills and I think knowing ice skating skills really helped me with a lot of the things I am now doing in derby! It is not exactly the same but there are similar aspects! Give derby a try, especially if you enjoy ice skating! 🙂
Definitely transferable skills! some of my leagues best players were former figure skaters or hockey players
I started Ice skating with speed skating skills so I think the skills can be transferred ^%
The skills are very different. When I ice skate I keep trying derby stops (plows and t stops) and keep falling :P
We have a lot of ex figure skaters and ex hockey players! The skills might be used in a new way, but you can totally pick it up!
Jazzmyne is such a fav and every video with her solidifies how awesome I think she is. I love this video style!!
Who else here plays roller derby? Best buzzfeed video ever!
I have played roller derby for 6 years, and I'm so happy Buzzfeed did a roller derby video!!!
The audio is *soo bad* :(
Vogel Njreri omg me too and I was like ohhhh m gggg ugh
i thought my phone was broken bc it's so weird and echoey
Vogel Njreri ik
Derby venues are sound killers, between that and the sound of skates it is impossible to get decent audio in the spaces
i didnt have a problem
OML I've needed this video in my life I just started looking into roller derbying and now this pops up🙏
This made me cry!
me too!
Same :( It was so right.
This was really beautiful and touching! Didn't expect that. We learn a lot through movement and play about ourselves and working past adversity.
It would take me a while to play banked track derby because I play flat track derby. I'd probably fall quite a bit lol.
Emily Miller - Beyond Casual same girl
also locating banked tracked leagues!
I can't believe that they stated with bank track, I play derby and have been for five years and I am only 15 years old I can say it has changed my life so much I dont know what I would do without it. Once I step on the track I am litrally a whole knew person and it is just amazing! I am proud of the community that derby is has become because it's so welcoming and it it pushing you to be the best version of yourself mentally not physically. It is so accepting of anybody who wants to step on that track. My mental health and my physical health has improved so much I am on a total of 6 teams and I do five practice a week and never skip one. I am so happy for the people at buzz feed because they got to experience this amazing sport
--- sorry for being kinda cheesy lol
I'm a bigger fan of Flat Track Roller Derby. It's still super exciting, but maybe not as difficult as Bank Track Roller Derby.
Local Austinite here. Derby is pretty big around here and it's wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching offbeat and underground kind of sports live, because that is where it excels.
*I play derby and i'm only 15 ❤ try it, you'll like it*
I play roller derby I'm a recent age out for junior roller derby and now am a adult skater, this sport has had such a positive impact in my life I love it, thank for making this video and I'm glad they enjoyed it :)
That sad moment you have never heard of roller derby....
Kaitlin Grace u never heard of it!!!!
No, never😂😂
Kaitlin Grace I think I heard the name but never actually seen it :-(
It's one of the best things ever, a lot of fun and definitely a very confidence building sport.
jazz is so emotional in literally every video.
That Asian girl is really pretty.
this was like my exact experience but with rugby!! These girls are so positive I love them
Is that LA'S Derby track?
yea
I'm 23... I first learned how to skate when I was like 5 or 6. I've known about Roller Derby for a long time, but never knew what it was all about until recently.
My local derby teams are flat-track, but I think I am going to go for it this coming season. Time to start working out a little bit, learn some drills I can do on my own and go from there while I await tryouts.
They should do a video with rock climbing for a month!
I did not realize how much I wanted a roller derby video until now!
Woman (or any gender idc) try professional rockclimbing for 30 days
Darth Hury a fellow rockclimber I see😌
I've been playing for 3 years, just aged out of the 3rd best junior derby team in the US currently (River City Riot 💜). It's such an intense but fun and amazing sport, one of the best decisions I've ever made was to stay when I wanted to quit in the first few grueling months. I've travelled so much, created a second family and became so muvh more than I was before--more confident, stronger both physically and mentally, and a part of something incredible.

I have been playing rollerderby for 4 seasons now and I am in love with the sport. I can't imagine my life without it. I've gained so many friendships and such amazing confidence I don't know where I would be without it. I love the derby community, everyone is there for everyone. I love my derby family💙💙🖤
Do woman try thrifting
I love how these kinds of videos include people who are bigger than the average size, showing that your weight should not limit you, I think that is really inspiring.
O JEEZ. I wanna do Roller Derby but my mom is like nahhh you gonna get hurt. I wanna get hurt tho bc I'm fine with it. I have a book about it.
Try it out! If it's something you're interested in then just go and do it. I'm personally the captain of my junior roller derby team and I've seen so many girls and guys who never thought the sport would be right for them, become some of the most amazing players.
Eves Bear Very true good point eves
I do roller derby and I love it, it's something you have to work hard for, but it's still great. I'm in a junior roller derby team, the coaches and referees do everything to make sure you don't get hurt. You have EMT's on the spot too. Also, they went straight into things. For juniors you learn how to skate if you don't already, then you start on watermelon (sticky skating) after that you learn your first stop, it goes on from there. Also DERBY IS NOT JUST FOR WOMEN, I have a couple boys on my team, and we work great together
What did the librarian say to the gamer?

Matthew Athanasopoulos omg hahahaha
Matthew Athanasopoulos what
Matthew Athanasopoulos lol
max rubio okay...
Matthew Athanasopoulos lol
I’m on a junior roller derby team because I’m only a teen and I love it! It’s an amazing experience and everyone is actually super kind and supportive! I also love roller derby because it’s one of the few sports that you could start later in life!
Fun Fact: My art teacher is on a Roller Derby team
That's gonna be me in 20 years, honestly
I'm a Rookie for Croydon Roller Derby! We play flat track but it is the most empowering sport I've ever been apart of. I would encourage everyone to try it out. There are also mens teams too!
I feel you with the tmj it's the worst
Leanne H What do you do to help it? I have it and it's awful
YASSSSS. Jammer here! Go fast, fight hard, get points! As a derby girl of 4 years, this makes me so happy. I love this game. I spend 3 days/6 hours per week practicing this incredibly fun sport, and I wouldn't trade it for the world! I'm most fulfilled when I'm playing derby.
If you're interested in derby, THERE'S A TEAM NEAR YOU! 1,000s of teams in the U.S. and worldwide. Find your place. You won't be disappointed. 😊
Can men and women try to learn how to draw in 30 days?
This is awesome. I am in junior roller derby, we dont have that fancy of a track, though. I really enjoy it, i have been doing it for almost 3 years now. And i agree about the elbows. When i meet people and i tell them im in roller derby, they are like "So you get to punch and elbow people!!", and is say "no... that would not be good" when inside i want to yell "NO, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS...."
