- Mandalorian Sabine Wren trains to use the Dakrsaber under Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus, as seen in the 4K HDR Star Wars: Rebels edit, "The Legacy of Mandalore Film Cut"
13 film cuts, 21 solo episodes, covering every episode of the show (including the 4 shorts) all upscaled and color graded into full 4K HDR for the first time ever. Now you can watch Rebels in a more theatrical way, just like my prior Clone Wars Arc edits. While not every single episode could be easily edited into a feature film, all of the most important arcs have been recut to flow as seamless films, giving the Star Wars television canon just a bit more of that epic theatrical feel, and making the video look as good as we possibly can for modern up to date HDR capable screens.
For best results, please watch these trailers on a 4K HDR capable screen using either your TV's youtube app, or your 4K HDR capable monitor's Edge or Chrome browser youtube URL. HDR capable smartphones and tablets should also display the proper colors at any resolution.

2:40 "You're not fighting me, you're fighting yourself, AND LOSING." Kanan is such a savage, lol.
Fighting yourself you always lose
I like how Kevin Kiner incorporates Sabine's theme from this scene into the End Credits of Ahsoka.
"The empire wanted to destroy world, and it did... They destroyed mine."
That was such a sad line ...
worse after coming back from ahsoka officially hearing her family died in the purge, so hits even harder now.
@@carloz1536I’m still mad they killed them off-screen. And that they’re only mentioned in passing a few times. I feel like they should’ve at least made a bigger deal out of it.
Sabine said that in the Ahsoka series?
One of two scenes in Rebels that make me cry.
@@_somerandomguyontheinternet_ Yeah, same here :' (
Oh man, the voice acting is so phenomenal in this scene
I am obsessed with the way Freddie's voice sounds and wish we could have a whole show of just Kanan teaching lightsaber skills!
@@vizslasetterthey could make a Rebels video game and include that as an advanced tutorial system like how the Jedi games work
This scene is so powerful. Freddie Prinze Jr should have gotten an Emmy for this. Breaks me up every time
Following the Ahsoka episode, I'm returning to this to see Sabine training with a blade. They did a great job of translating her approach with the lightsaber.
Too bad she did absolutely nothing with it
@@CenturianEagle sarcasm?
Who came after watch the asoka scene.
@@KingBigbirdGaming guilty as charged
@JonnDthunDer ya, they are really trying to kill what came before.
The transition between this being a training session, to catharsis is amazing.
"I helped enslave my people" god, you can feel the weight behind that. Such a big thing shes been carrying with her and keeping it bottled up
that's what makes her unique and I'm glad Ashoka chose her.
@@ghostface4404yeah I just wish she didn’t have the force cause I think it would of been cool for her to be trained as a Jedi without the force and instead using her mando gadgets like she does here to even the playing field idk it seems more unique and having a Jedi type character without the force similar to how grevious was to the sith would of been cool, maybe she could of been a Jedi that wasn’t force sensitive, I think that would of made her more unique than she already is
@@tommyfamolare8740 I don't agree. All here the potential and given Sabine's artistic nature, who knows what kind of force abilities that she'll create. Plus, this positions Sabine to a position to finally end the weak, inept and corrupt Republic and the Jedi and forge a stronger galaxy. Broaden your perspective.
@@ghostface4404 I get where ur coming from I think it would have been cool to get a Jedi without the force, idk have Sabine be more than a mando or a Jedi have her be something new. But I respect ur opinion and hopefully in the future she uses the force and mando gadgets, that way she’s more well rounded if she’s gonna have the force
@@tommyfamolare8740 all have the force.... it's just who's worth training? she likely won't need her gadgets. Mandalorians are more than just about gadgets Mandalore is an ideal with far more emphases on armor. still, it would be smart to keep them handy if she ever has connection cut.
I mostly slept on Rebels back when it was airing, but I started marathoning it recently so I'd be all caught up on these characters when they reappear in the new Ahsoka series. Binging a whole series you were never originally interested in can start to feel like homework pretty quickly, but Rebels turned out to be well worth watching in its own right, especially in scenes like this. The animation is stylish and crisp, the voice acting is captivating, and the sword fight is not only cool in and of itself, but it also works beautifully as a vehicle for more powerful character work than even the best Star Wars movies had most of the time.
100% agree. I put this off for a long time but it's actually become one of my favourite Star Wars shows. This scene is so powerful. Can't wait for Ashoka!
Oh yeah rebels is soo great, I’ve been saying that for awhile. I like it as much as clone wars; in some ways I like it better, and in some ways clone wars was better, but they’re both fantastic shows. Glad you’re enjoying it! Happy with ahsoka too; when I heard the music from rebels in ahsoka I got so pumped
This series has some boring chapters, I agree, but it is better than many others like star wars resistance that look like a 3 year old made it
If you wasn’t watching Rebels when it aired you a fake fan, I never seen clone wars, I grew up with Rebels.
@@darkmatter8712ain't gonna take that diss lying low the resiste is yes a bit more childish than rebels but it still has it's own deep moments and some interesting character driven moments and hell that series only got 2 seasons to be fair I wonder what could have been with more seasons
This scene is so much sadder knowing what eventually happens to her family and the Purge
You’re not fighting me. You’re fighting yourself….and losing.
Powerful words
The soundtrack for this scene slaps hard
I cannot help getting choked up at this scene every goddamn time.
You can see Kanan starts off using a Form 2 technique while Sabine appears to be using the offensive technique of Shii Cho
Tiya Sircar is just heartbreaking in this scene, she makes you feel Sabine’s pain in every word she says that you just want to run over and give her a hug. She should’ve gotten an Emmy for this scene.
I love how Kanan develops a coruscanti accent when he’s teaching
I mean that is where he grew up.
I loved how she was even with him when she started with the saber, and then when she used a trick again to grab it, so he started to effortlessly just knock her right off her balance again, and then pulled out the spark he needed.
Idk if he actually feared she’d strike him down, but mannn maybe.
And people say this show is childish. Maybe early on, but man 2-4.
Her little soft “but my family didn’t stand with me…” 😭
I can see people saying S1 was “childish” but the Grand Inquisitor was a terrifying villain, and his final words are haunting. After that, the show just decides to get good. S2 introduces several established characters to the show like Darth Vader, Ahsoka, and Maul. With S2, the finale hit so hard especially with Vader vs Ahsoka. I remember not being able to watch the show live after that because we had to downgrade our cable. So I eagerly awaited the show to come to DVD so I could have a chance to see it. When I did, holy crap S3 and S4 go crazy, and introducing Thrawn as the main villain, bringing back one of the greatest villains of the EU, making him canon?! What a power play from the creators. I honestly can’t think of any legitimate reasons for people to not watch this show.
betraying the way of Mandalore.
she never matched kanan. He was completely defensive and just letting her vent her anger.
@@icer1249 oh, he got scared at the end.
"The blades will be drawn to each other"
True, however it’s more about practicality than Lightsaber’s being naturally drawn to one another like a magnet. Episode three’s Anakin vs Dooku & Obi-Wan vs Grievous should have shown that fatal flaw. There is nothing stopping someone from surfing down the blade using the magnetism they create into cutting off the hands of the other person. Having a functional cross guard would solve this issue and make lightsaber combat less flashy and more like traditional sword fighting.
I love this scene episode as Sabine is my favorite Star Wars character and Mandalorian.
rebels is underrated asf, personally i think it's better than the mandaloriab
@@SuperiorShrek I agree.
@@SuperiorShrekI agree. I liked all the main characters Rebels was fun to watch.
She’s my favorite too. Until Din Djarin came.
Knowing how her story plays out, it's so hard to think of a character with as tragic a history.
I cannot believe that this Sabine Wren is the same character as what we’re seeing in live action. This scene constantly gets me choked up.
yeah they are not. live action Sabine has little in common with this one.
Even with her trauma, her character change is a bit off. I think someone must of forced Dave to change his character at Disney because I doubt he forgot all of her character development
@@Jaykurosakii yeah she has regressed. Ezra has dissapeared, Kanan is dead and the rest of the ghost crew is doing their own thing. She doesn't know what to do and has depression from it.
Let's not forget how she fought with the empire for her family and mandalore, only to lose everything in the great mandalorian purge, but I have hope that we will se this Sabine again in the next episodes.
Both Tiya and Natasha did a great job.
I heard in the secondary Ashoka trailer Sabine was seen using Ezra’s saber. Good thing this training paid off huh?
Welp
Bro got clapped

Sabine is a force to fear when emotions come in the fight.
for all of rebel's faults, and there are a lot, they really did a phenomenal job with this scene.
My favorite explanation in Star Wars on how a lightsaber works and how one fights with it.
I could watch a whole show of Kanan teaching lightsaber skills!
And... Moff Gideon squashed it.
I really like the darksaber
this is the sabine i was expecring at ahsoka. using her grapple to pick up the lightsabre and using all her items at her disposal to dispose of her opponents.
She doesn't need them anymore. Those tricks may amount to something, maybe even save her life, but they won't keep her alive in the long run. Only training and discipline can.
Never knew sabine had such s brutal past....
It's Star Wars 90% of the Galaxy has a brutal past.
I miss Kanan
This has to be one of the most emotionally charged moments in Star Wars animation. Don’t get me wrong, the death of Fives and Tech were devastating, but they were not as charged as this scene. The next scene that comes to mind is Ahsoka’s decision to leave the Jedi Order.
I’m adding this for emphasis: I will die on a hill defending my opinion that this might be the best scene from any Star Wars show.
Man…. I can’t wait for the Ahsoka show….
Good detail, Kanan only goes through 1 to 6 because form 7 is forbidden to anyone bellow Master rank
It isn't
@@CRYSTAL_CUSTOMS it is, only masters can know however a master can teach to a Padawan with permission
Er...no. Kanan is teaching Sabine Shii-Cho, the simplest lightsaber form. He is using Makashi and Soresu.
The idea of lightsabers having no weight has always been nonsense. If the lightsaber blade is indeed concentrated light energy, then gravity should in fact exert a pull on it, and given how concentrated the energy is (enough to burn through almost anything) then it would experience one hell of a gravitational pull.
Ok, either this show is just amazing or I'm going through menopause or something cuz it keeps making me cry 😭
Sabine the mando Jedi vs Kanen The cowboy Jedi quick draw blasters only let that sink in
Sabine 😊😊😊
基礎からこうやって訓練してる所を見ると、アナキン含める先人ジェダイ達がどれ程速いかがよくわかる...😮
I wonder why Kanan opted to use Makashi here
Makashi is know for emphasizing elegance, and fluidity. However, due to the styles finesse, it is unable to produce a lot of kinetic force. He probably opted to use it for basic training, before she was ready for a more advanced for of lightsaber dueling.
@ hm Idk, Makashi is a very advance lightsaber dueling style. It would make more sense for him to start with form I or III. Because are in chronological order when it comes to which form came first and how Advance they are.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t Kanan’s taunts make her angry, and doesn’t anger lead to tapping into the dark side?
Wasn’t connected to the force at this time.
Not all anger will lead to the dark side because he was getting her to release the emotions that were being boiled up inside her to let it go and forgive herself.
Windu line prevails@@narcisorivero5893
You really believe anything the Jedi say
They so did her dirty in the last serie they made on Disney!
How so?
Her and Ezra.
No they didn’t
I mean she did kinda built a weapon that destroyed Mandalorians. An accusations of heresy in my point of view
Never thought I'd see the day when I'd find myself saying that Rebels did it better; but, after Ahsoka's latest episode here I am.
Whatever letter grade I gave this episode back in the day should probably be moved up a notch.
Its different scenerios however in one she was struggling with her inner demons, in Ashoka shes trying to learn skills that took Jedi decades, most of whom started as children and have a stronger connection to the force
So whats the truth??
Sqsshhhhhhhhhh
Had to watch this again, to cleanse my palate after witnessing the Ahsoka series.
Oh shut it
This episode predicted that she'll one day become a Jedi, and now you're mad that she is now a Jedi?
@@jonathancharron7360 It predicted that Sabine could be a leader to her people. Nothing in REBELS hinted that Sabine was a Force user.

No, in Ahsoka she obviously knows how to wield a lightsaber. Just not blindfolded because that requires use of the Force.
