I have just watched several videos on splitting hostas. Yours is by far the BEST! No long winded, unnecessary explanation just to make a longer video. I immediately hit "subscribe". I couldn't agree more with all the recent comments. I look forward to more of your helpful tips. THANK YOU!!
It's grey and rainy here for the last few days and for the next few days. Itching to get outside. I have a hosta that actually drops seeds and I found a bunch of little babies. I pulled them up and put them in pots. So far, they are still standing so I should have some nice little starts next season.
Hi Biljana! Awww thank you! My garden is a labor of love. I’m about to split some bearded Irises and create a full sun garden bed and a shaded garden bed, so stay tuned! Thanks for watching!🤗🤗

Grass has failed so I’m going to plant hostas. I enjoyed this video a lot. When others spoke of splitting I had no idea what they were saying. I learned a lot from you today. Do you have a video on hosta seeds?
Hey there! You will love your Hosta. They are the plant that keeps giving! No, I don’t have a video on Hosta seeds, but I’ll try planting some from seed next spring. Thanks for the idea and for watching!🤗

Hi Kristy! Thank you so much for watching the video! So are you putting in Hosta plants or their seeds? The best time to plant your Hosta is early spring or early fall. This was great. We have two that have become enormous and we didn’t know what to do with them. Any suggestions for a hydrangea? We have a couple and had to move one. It was beautiful but the kids kept running through it. We moved it 10 feet to save it. It has not bloomed in the 8 years since we moved it. It still returns every year but no blooms.
Hey there mbrennan! So glad you found the video helpful! If your hydrangea isn’t blooming it could be a few things. Is it still getting at least 4 hours of sunshine? Did you fertilize it when you moved it? Are you pruning it? Hard to say what may be wrong. The good news is it’s still alive, so there is hope that it will bloom again someday!🤗🤗🤗
So I have hostas that I planted in front of my house when I had a large tree there and they are beautiful. The tree provided a good amount of shade for them and they grew well. We cut down the tree last spring however and they did well and have even come back this year huge and beautiful. Should I keep them there or move them somewhere shadier? I didn't think hostas could grow in a good amount of sun (full sun 7am - 3pm) but they appear to be ok? The leaves got a little brown towards the end of the summer last year. I live near Atlanta Georgia and water them daily or every other day on a watering system. New subscriber so I would appreciate any help you can offer!
Hey Sharona fellow Hosta Lover!😍 Since the root system has been established in that area, you don't need to move them. Make sure to only water in the evening, so your leaves don't burn! Thanks for watching and Subscribing!🌻🍀🌻🍀
Had to remove a storm damaged dwarf Japanese Maple which allowed only dappled sun on my hosta. Now they are burned around edges. It is July and not perfect time to relocate. Help, should I go ahead and relocate or just keep watering?
Hi Sheila! It's hard to know what they'll need without seeing the location. I would keep watering them and possibly shade them with a temporary shade. Can you plant another bush or tree over them? If not, consider moving them to another location in the FALL. Best of luck! Thanks for watching!🤗
Such a great channel, so glad I found you today! Awesome tips 🙏🏾💯‼️ Question...have you ever split Day Lillie's, wondering is the plant could survive it👌🏾
Hi Zachariah! I am so glad you found me too! 🤗 I tried to clear out a section of day lilies in my yard one year. The next year they came back!😅 I didn’t split them, but I think you can with no worries. They too are very hardy! Today I am going outside to split a large patch of bearded irises. You’ll see that on an upcoming video. Thanks for watching!🤗🤗🤗
Hi Zachariah I planted orange day lilies long long time ago (lol) around my yard. In recent years I dug them up, shared some with neighbors and they’re still coming back each year. I replaced them with mondo grass for a much tidier look. Now I have day lilies among the grass. They are hardy that’s for sure. I’ve never divided them just made sure the pieces had roots. Happy planting!
Hi Vanessa! I’ve had these Hosta for almost 20 years. I’ve split them more times than I can count. I believe the variety is fire and ice, but I think it’s the soil I was using from a local nursery that started their growth pattern. So glad you stopped by and watched the video!🤗🤗🤗
I've got a huge cluster of hostas that I need to move immediately but with very few options of shade.. its been on my patio over 6 years & is receiving new sun exposure due to trees that have been removed from a neighbors yard 🙈. Im afraid they'll all die 😔
Hi Adrienne! Were the Hosta on the patio in a container? If so, they should be ok, since the soil conditions aren't changing, just the sun exposure. Let me know...🤔🙂
Hi Adrienne! Can you find a somewhat shaded area for them now that they're in pots? Hosta are very hardly plants. Cut off the dead leaves, water, and sit them in some shade. 🌳🌳🌳
Hi Nicole! I have been thinking about a hydrangea care video. I may split a couple of them in the Fall, so that may be the right time for a video. Thanks for the suggestion and the support! 🤗🤗🤗

@@TrishTalkz 🙏🏾I appreciate cha, and I am looking forward to that episode👌🏾
Hi Zachariah I planted orange day lilies long long time ago (lol) around my yard. In recent years I dug them up, shared some with neighbors and they’re still coming back each year. I replaced them with mondo grass for a much tidier look. Now I have day lilies among the grass. They are hardy that’s for sure. I’ve never divided them just made sure the pieces had roots. Happy planting!
@@beadyr4810 wow! Thanks for the info and tips!
What type hosts was that the leaves are so large
Let me know...🤔🙂
@@TrishTalkz they're in the ground which is why they haven't been moved. They're definitely sun burnt already and I don't know where to move them to 🥺
@@TrishTalkz i dug them up & put them in pots. They all look dead
Hi Adrienne! Can you find a somewhat shaded area for them now that they're in pots? Hosta are very hardly plants. Cut off the dead leaves, water, and sit them in some shade. 🌳🌳🌳
Hi, i speak spanish, my English is not to much but you are so good, so kind and you help me. Thank you 😊 💓

I would love to see your care tips for the hydrangeas! I love hydrangeas so much, but they don't love me lol
Hi Nicole! I have been thinking about a hydrangea care video. I may split a couple of them in the Fall, so that may be the right time for a video. Thanks for the suggestion and the support!
