Ever noticed on The Walking Dead how shortly after a new black guy joins the group the existing black member dies? Think about it shortly after the group gets to the prison and meets Oscar, Tdog dies, and then, shortly after Tyrese shows up, Oscar dies, and then after Bob shows up, the group gets split up after the attack on the prison, and then when the group gets back together shortly after meeting father Gabriel, Bob dies and then shortly after meeting Noah, Tyrese dies.
Yea…..I wish Tyrese lived sooo much longer, he was such a great character with a lot of personality, he was that really nice guy that if pushed too far will snap & become a monster🫰
Your reaction at 9:32 realizing what episode you were on, and your reaction at 15:45 when Glenn picked up a weapon, were reaction was priceless, rip Hershel, Beth, Tyreese, The Governor, Bob, Lizzie, Mika and Martin
Tyreses death is one of the saddest deaths in the entire TWDU. It was so perfectly done. He wasn’t built for that world mentally. The fact that they had two deaths in back to back episodes was still wild to me. Peak walking dead Fun fact: Andrew Lincoln can be heard on the radio in the car when Tyrese is about to die. It’s his normal British voice.
Maggie and Daryl spoke about Beth in the train car at Terminus at the very beginning of 5x1, its very short but Daryl is telling her she was taken but was alive when he last saw her.
Hunter I LOVE that the voice on the radio was the voice of Andrew Lincoln without his American accent discussing the world falling & people with machetes.
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 That was so awesome that they had Andrew Lincoln use his natural accent for the voice on the radio, 👍😀 My ‘what the h***’ moment, how in the world did the kid Walker get out of that room from behind a latched door, Tyreese should have dealt with that kid Walker before going into the other bedroom, so Noah did not have to, 😏 Each time I see this episode, I questioned why they bothered to take Tyreese out of the vehicle after he passed, just to have to lug him back in, 🤔 Chad Coleman did an awesome job with Tyreese’s character, so sad to lose him, RIP Tyreese Have a safe and wonderful weekend, 👋🙂👋
I will never let the significance of the unspoken bond, regardless of the way it's explicitly portrayed in the show, between CARL & MAGGIE! This may be a bit lengthy, but please hear me out... IMO it's one of the most underrated bonds in the series thus far. It began back when he was shot by Otis & brought to the Greene farm. Maggie rushed out on the horse in order to bring Lori & the gang there to regroup. Carl did not have many people left in this world, neither does Maggie to be fair. When the barn was busted open and all the walkers came out & were taken out Carl lost his only friend at the time, Sophia, and Maggie "lost" her step mom & her step brother too. The farm fell & it was Maggie's home & Carl wanted it to be as such, but it wasn't. When they made it to the prison and Hershel was bitten, Carl went out by himself to scavenge the infirmary for supplies to help save Hershel's life which mirrored when Carl was saved at the farm! Carl flirting with Beth started building another bond to that family for Carl as well. Then the birth of Judith, losing Lori bonded Carl & Maggie deeper than anything thus far and forever. That trauma & loss went understated for Carl & Maggie IMO. Carl & Beth had a discussion about sadness & sorrow & losing people at the prison discussing religion. That mirrored the scene with Carl spouting hate about religion to Carol after they both lost Sophia ( the scene between Beth & Carl at the prison talking about this was deleted, but is available online though I can link it here at the end). Carl & Maggie both stepped up when the sickness was running rampant & walkers were taking down the fences too, GROWTH! Hershel being taken & killed in front of them both, Carl being told by Daryl to trust Rick to handle the negotiation but it was fruitless. Then Carl was the one that took the shot & actually clipped the Governor! The Prison falls & Carl thinks he lost Judith which would've destroyed both Carl & Maggie 100%. Maggie had her first few kills at Woodbury & the Prison, and Carl had his first kill at the prison too! Both losing chunks of their humanity. These events followed up by both of them experiencing SA, traumatized them further as well! Another little parallel I noticed was Carl having his seizure in his bed, and Maggie being locked up in her bed at the prison after her SA by the Governor. Carl venting & ranting at Rick after losing the Prison and listing Maggie as one of the people he couldn't protect. Also, in the train car both Carl & Maggie step up & back Rick up in their faith that he will get them out of this situation and save them! That means even more after Maggie had lost faith in him back right after the farm fell & she wasn't trusting of Rick's plans for the group prior to the Ricktatorship and then Carl's right after losing their next home, the prison. Now in Episode 10, we get one of the most underappreciated moments between the 2 of them even though it's brief. Carl giving the music box to Maggie is EVERYTHING to me! He & Beth did have a bond too, and the singing really comforted him and so he found the closest thing to music for Maggie to bring her happy memories about Beth when she needed it the most. Daryl was often comforted by that singing too, like in the funeral home. I fucking love their bond & parallels SO MUCH & I wish more people noticed them!
'Them' might be my favorite episode in the entire series. its the groups at their lowest. they are demoralized, grieving, starving and thirsty. Yet when the storm is raging and the walkers are attacking the barn they all come together and the ones who have been the worst off throughout the episode ( daryl, maggie, sasha) are the first to hold the door. Edit also the bit about kids being better suited to this world I found kind of interesting.
Rick was not talking about the termites when he said “we’re not them.” Daryl said “we ain’t them” when he said “we are the walking dead” because Daryl is saying we aren’t just the walkers roaming aimlessly . And Rick was reassuring him that he meant they have to live like the dead so that they may survive and come out alive .
Great reaction guys on both episodes. One of my favourite two episodes, but some of the saddest on this show. With Bob slowly dying it was different because our group/gang got to say "Goodbye" to him one by one, but the show writers couldn't even let us get over the shock of losing Beth (who yes I agree Hunter she was really stupid and reckless in that move stabbing Dawn in the shoulder with the scissors because that could have gone so badly and turned into a bloodbath in that coridoor/hallway with everyone's guns raised at each other and got everyone killed with bullets flying everywhere, but thankfully Officer Shepherd she shouts loud enough "NO, Hold your fire...Stand Down") but then they immediately let us sadly lose Tyreese the very next episode, I was so cross😡 and broken again😢, they tricked ALL of us because the majority of us watching at the opening scene thought they were burying Beth, but 17 days had passed since Beth's death which Maggie and Noah are still mourning. Little did we all know another death was quickly coming and it was our "Gentle Giant" Tyreese who I think most of us can agree was too good for this world, but yes Hunter you're so right, on re-watching these episodes so many times now I've lost count, we see the little hints and foreshadowing they were doing, EVEN when you make me laugh and smile😂 when you stare into the camera at us and widen your eyes, simultaneously raising your eyebrows at the same time when those things happen so we ALL know what time it is without giving anything away to Anthony - I'll say no more, no spoilers from me.🤐 I remember at the time when I first watched it raging about how long Noah was taking to get Rick, Glenn & Michonne and what's taking him so long until I saw him fighting outside with the walkers on top of him and thought "Oh I see, one's a bit pre-occupied right now trying to not get bitten..."😆 We can't really call Bob Sasha's lover, they were just at the beginning stages of their relationship, but they were very happy with one another with a lot of sweet words and kisses, but she is on the edge now after losing Tyreese - goodness knows what she's going to do now.😉 Moving on, I love how Abraham was still protecting Eugene even though they've not spoken since Eugene confessed he was lying and wasn't a scientist. Also, it was like the Lord answered their prayers by sending 4 miracles, first the dogs for food, then He opened up the heavens bringing them rain for water and then the barn that Daryl spotted earlier and lastly the storm didn't even touch that barn. Fth. Gabriel is up and down waivering in his faith. Rick saw that storm in the distance and I loved that scene where they all ran to help Daryl keep those barn doors closed during that small Tornado that whipped up those walkers and pinned them down under the trees or as we saw one was hanging up in that tree on the far left like a fruit or a pinata. It showed us that when they work together as ONE team and ONE family, they are stronger and a force to be reckoned with. Then, along comes our too clean stranger that's making our Anthony very uncomfortable😆 and he made us feel the same way too after everything our group have been through in stranger danger, it certainly made us scream on our first watch "HOW DO YOU KNOW RICK'S NAAAAAME.😠🤔 P.S. Rick was talking about the walkers, not the Termites! Apparently I read the bound woman walker who Maggie found in the boot of that car on the road was supposed to remind her of Beth hence why Glenn put it down. I agree with you Hunter, Beth was enraged by Dawn's statement, "I knew you'd be back", referring to Noah. It had NOTHING to do with Beth wanting to commit suicide whatsoever - that's NOT what the writers intended for that scene and I strongly disagree with that suggestion and statement, it makes no sense, she'd moved on since that weak attempt at slitting her wrist at the farm and even cried and apologised to Maggie because she didn't really want to do it otherwise, she would have succeeded or trued it multiple times after that until she was successful!
When he first met Beth in the hospital, Noah said he had been there for a year. He had been gone from home for a year and his family probably looked to have been dead for quite a few months
In the very first episode of the season daryl and maggie are talking about beth. In thevery beginning when before they get gassed in the train car Its very short and discreet but they do
Hi guys! Hunter, Rick was referring to the walkers, We are the walking dead! Because his grandfather said he woke up every day saying rest in peace, referring to him being a walking dead soldier. Does that make sense?
I knowwww but “we’re not them” like duh, obviously we’re not walkers. But we COULD be like the Termites. “Too far gone” which is why I interpreted it that way. But yeah I know I’m probably wrong.
They did mention the Beth situation at the start of 501 when showing them gearing up to fight the cannibals before they were brought to the troughs...they were driven out of the Prison around Day 504, Beth was taken Night 507, and Beth died by Day 514.
Comic Comparisons : The iconic We Are The Walking Dead speech was given much earlier in the comics After waking up from a coma after fighting with Tyreese in the wake of Carol’s self-harm (Rick blamed Tyreese for Carol’s self-harm because Carol and Tyreese were dating and Michonne seduced Tyreese and Carol saw it)
Its still wild to me that they didnt bring Karen back for Tyreese's final episode. Even if she was ONLY in the car scene at the end sitting next to him or looking back st him through the window, smh
R.I.P Tyrese! I always think this episode as dumb because normally Tyrese would have cleared the place before looking a pictures. Why would they carry him, send someone for the car! Have the group come to them take care of Tyrese at Noahs. I guess they panicked, but they are already so good at what they do.
I blame Noah for Tyrese’s death. He didn’t listen when Tyrese said wait he just ran into the house, not even knocking to see if there was walkers in there, also the voice commentating on the radio is the The Man Himself Andrew Lincoln in his British accent. I got tickled when I did a rewatch and realized it was Rick’s Andrew Lincoln 😂
I think it was on Tyrese himself. He was specifically told Noah had two brothers, is staring at a picture of the two brothers, there is a reflection in the picture of the open door behind him, and yet he still doesn't turn around to go check what's through that door? I loved his character, but it's a moment of recklessness that got him killed.
About the intro based in the last episode - I don't think beth knew what she was doing or expected her actions to be a big deal, she just wasn't that cerebral enough. Plus it would mean she intentionally put her group in harms by risking them getting into a shootout which would've been very fatal due to how close and narrow that location was.
I love Beth I like how she started off weak and turned strong like Carol in a lot of other people we love. And I wholeheartedly believe she stabbed Dawn believing she would be killed and then her people would kill her. She was trying to break the cycle and set Noah free
Beth had been in the hospital long enough to know how things worked. She even said she is starting to understand how things work. The doctor and Dawn both used Beth to kill someone else that would be a problem for them. Before Carol showed up Beth had resigned herself to the idea of trying to kill Dawn on her own with the scissors she hid in her cast. Beth knew Dawn’s thinking would never change and to save Noah I think she sacrificed herself. Before Beth was taken she was starting to believe she could live and survive in this world but being around Dawn and the people of the hospital most likely brought those doubts back from season 2.
It never made sense to me that Rick told Carol that Carl didn't need to see it. I get Sasha, and I guess he was being a protective father in that moment but c'mon. Carl was a lot younger when Hershel lost his leg. He's definitely seen worse stuff than that.
I wish they didn't have Daryl say "We're not them". No one said that to Rick in the comics. Didn't see the point of changing that. Just a little gripe I had.
I fully agree. The power in the We Are The Walking Dead statement would have hit so much harder if they just showed us Daryl disagreed instead of having him say it.
I agree I don’t think Beth planned all that lol. But I do think stabbing Dawn was defiantly a back up plan. I also have a theory. Hear me out. I think Beth’s backup plan was to stab dawn. And take her gun. Bc if you rewatch it looks like Beth was reaching low after stabbing. Hence why dawn shot. Bc she was shocked by getting stabbed and Beth reaching for her gun. Dawns face showed she didn’t mean to shoot it was a reaction. But Beth’s plan was to disarm her. Either to shoot her or make dawn look weak which would make the other cops turn on her. And it would free Noah. Idk tho. Food for thought
Suicide! That's wild! She didn't care about those people. I think she did it for Noah. Nobody else would care if he left. She is just young and impulsive and trying to save a friend.
I knowwww but “we’re not them” like duh, obviously we’re not walkers. But we COULD be like the Termites. “Too far gone” which is why I interpreted it that way. But yeah I know I’m probably wrong.
I think Beth's stab ultimately comes down to a simple "fvck you Dawn" and she was so mad she just didn't even care what happened after, she just felt Dawn needed to get stabbed. As for Maggie, i don't think she didn't care about Beth, she just assumed she was dead and knew she had to move on. Maggie and Glenn have been together more than a couple months, it's been a year or two at this point since the fall.
@@brosnshows as far as she knew he was on the bus and the bus left, if I were in her shoes I would have gone looking too. Glenn is a survivor, he's a tough cookie.
Anyone who thought Beth got herself killed on purpose-as some sort of strategic move-is completely lacking in logic, because as soon as even some is applied that take falls to pieces. She lost her temper, period end of story. Id bet any dollar amount that every TWD writing staff member would confirm
Daryl did mean the Walkers when he reacted to Ricks speech, you did read it wrong(I remember them talking about it on Talking Dead after that episode). It actually kind of annoyed me when Daryl got all pissy about it; ruined a good speech!
First of all let me just say Anthony has the best laugh. That alone keeps me tuning in.😊 It's crazy. I remember my husband and I watching this season in real time and how traumatized we were. Just like the characters we didn't trust that water in the middle of the road. We had been through too much by this point. 😂 When dude rolled up on Sasha and Maggie, I said who is this So Fresh and so clean, clean. And from that moment on my husband and I nicknamed him So Fresh and So clean, clean. 😂

There's a little something to that, however, there are long periods of the show where there are multiple black, male characters...

Don’t agree at all but I respect the opinion!
@@samanthabailey4018 Completely absurd.
It never made sense to me that Rick told Carol that Carl didn't need to see it. I get Sasha, and I guess he was being a protective father in that moment but c'mon. Carl was a lot younger when Hershel lost his leg. He's definitely seen worse stuff than that.
Totally agree
I wish they didn't have Daryl say "We're not them". No one said that to Rick in the comics. Didn't see the point of changing that. Just a little gripe I had.
It's the best part
I fully agree. The power in the We Are The Walking Dead statement would have hit so much harder if they just showed us Daryl disagreed instead of having him say it.
Yeah I actually feel you on this
Glenn got the bat.
Sure did pal
Hunter, what was ur last episode you watched?
Finished all of season 8
I can see that scenario for sure, didn’t play out how she wanted. Was a bold move
Suicide! That's wild! She didn't care about those people. I think she did it for Noah. Nobody else would care if he left. She is just young and impulsive and trying to save a friend.
The Walking Dead are the walkers...that's who Daryl and Rick were talking about.
I knowwww but “we’re not them” like duh, obviously we’re not walkers. But we COULD be like the Termites. “Too far gone” which is why I interpreted it that way. But yeah I know I’m probably wrong.
Fans of Beth only say that to make the move more noble and less dumb. It wasn't intentional 🙄😆
Agree
Tyreese really was to good for this world! His heart was to big and to soft for all the savagness that is their reality 😢
❤❤❤
I think Beth's stab ultimately comes down to a simple "fvck you Dawn" and she was so mad she just didn't even care what happened after, she just felt Dawn needed to get stabbed. As for Maggie, i don't think she didn't care about Beth, she just assumed she was dead and knew she had to move on. Maggie and Glenn have been together more than a couple months, it's been a year or two at this point since the fall.
Fair points but she went looking for Glenn with no proof he was alive either!
Aaron has good news…about our lord and savior. Lol he’s a Jehovah’s Witness
Season 1 Glenn was a top 3 for me. After that he was just meh to me. His character became slightly annoying once he got hooked on Maggie's box.
Sorry but loved the bigfoot comment
Apocalypse thoughts
also go back to when Maggie's brother died on the farm no one cried and gave a crap about him
First of all let me just say Anthony has the best laugh. That alone keeps me tuning in.😊
It's crazy. 😂
