Shawn Kemp was an impressive athlete and a show man at that time. What a great time that season, things are different now. It doesnt matter which team you like this video touches anyone. Hello there Seattle. I am from OKC. I would just like to say that, that video is very touching, and put together very well. I cannot understand you guys's pain. I wanted the NBA here, but by this method. While I always knew the NBA would put a team in OKC, I honestly expected an expansion to be announced today. I hope the Sonics name and legacy can stay where it belongs, as you guys deserve it. Again very nice video, and keep your heads up. You'll get another team I'm sure of it.
i just wanna say thanks to anyone who supported my team staying here in seattle, clay bennett didnt just move a team from seattle to okc. he stole a big part of my child hood. i grew up watching payton and kemp, and it hurts to know that now every october i wont be able to watch the first game of the sonics season like i have done for so long. i pray, that the people and the city of seattle does somthing to get us another team.
If this means anything coming from a thunder fan, we all wish that this didn't happen the way it did for you guys. I believe you guys should've gotten an expansion team already, and that it's unfair that you don't. When the hornets went to nola, Charlotte got the Bobcats fairly quick (we all know they were pitifully bad), and it's a shame you don't already. We are grateful for the sacrifice that you guys had to make for us. I just wish you guys could enjoy the thunder as much as we do here in Oklahoma, because I know most of you guys hate the thunder. Don't worry though, because the team is in good hands.

I have been to okc, and it is not near as big as seattle and it does not have the atmosphere that seattle does. David stern, clay bennett and howard Schultz should be in jail for what they did.

If the NBA cared half as much about the fans as they cared about money, the arenas would build themselves. The owners do not care about their fans or even their own towns. Incredibly sad. OKC deserves a team. Seattle deserves to keep theirs. The NBA and their owners will always regret this move.

Cleveland lost their Browns to Baltimore (in a purpley attempt to make up for the overnight hijacking that sent the team to Indianapolis). About 4 years passed, then the Browns became an expansion team, like nothing happened, only there was an empty space of 4 years. I bet this will happen eventually. As for us, I hope we can match (and exceed) what love we had for the Hornets.

well it's hard to get fans when a team wins less than 20 games. but you can't expect the fans to do all the work. Charles Barkley said himself that the city should have done at least half of the work, with some support from the league. i understand what you're saying, but the attendance would not make the franchise fall. within the next couple years, we could get some leadership and a couple good players, and just like that we would be a team that's recognized again.

Seattle has given everything to the Sonics and met every reasonable request made to them. For David Stern to blast our city and our leaders and twist the facts shame on him. You're right on the money with that one. I can't believe this happened. Schultz should have never sold the team to Bennett. There are plenty of rich people in the Seattle area. Microsoft? Boeing? It sickens me that the NBA decides to move a team just because the arena isn't good for them! If you go back to the 80's and early 90's, teams like the Celtics with their Boston Garden and the Chicago Bulls with Chicago Stadium, both of which had been in existence for longer than the Key Arena, which had been renovated just a decade earlier to accomodate modern standards. It doesn't make sense at all!

Name me a NBA basketball team, where the owner says they are going to move the team, and the team is the worst team in the league, and the crowds still came. FYI, while Seattle might have been 28th in attendance, it was better than 3-5 other teams.

You're right on the money with that one. I can't believe this happened. Schultz should have never sold the team to Bennett. There are plenty of rich people in the Seattle area. Microsoft? Boeing? And David Stern is a dick. It's all about the money. Except for fans, and we don't have a say. Funny, the only people who care.
It sickens me that the NBA decides to move a team just because the arena isn't good for them! If you go back to the 80's and early 90's, teams like the Celtics with their Boston Garden and the Chicago Bulls with Chicago Stadium, both of which had been in existence for longer than the Key Arena, which had been renovated just a decade earlier to accomodate modern standards. It doesn't make sense at all!
I forgot to add: Mayor "no balls" Nickels for taking a B.S. settlement that will probably end up being worth far less than $45 million.

FYI, while Seattle might have been 28th in attendance, it was better than 3-5 other teams.
