    This video is amazing! I personally have been a cardiac sonographer for 13 yrs now and i felt the same way in the beginning. I was also pressured to be a nurse because everyone in my family was a nurse. I can honestly say this is one of the best careers in the medical field. I Currently work as an echo manager but I'm registered in echo and vascular( ACS, RCS and RVS) I have no regrets and anyone considering this field should be know that it offers a lot as far as skillset and ability to grow. There's so much to learn as new technology, criteria and techniques are constantly developing. Within all that you will have so much fun learning and challenging yourself. You will not be disappointed.

    Cardiac Sonographers I know in AK hospital make about $95k/year. It’s amazing what they do and work 8 hour days in a Cardiology clinic.

    Love this! I am currently 25 years old and work in Business Administration in an unrelated field. My undergraduate degree is in business & I've been considering a career change to medical. I've decided to pursue a Phlebotomy Certification this Fall, and then hopefully figure out if I want to pursue Sonography or Respiratory Therapy :) If I decide to pursue Sonography, I would have to work part time while in school. Is working part time while in a Sonography program manageable? I wouldn't be able to live or afford school without working.

    • @dayswithdee6670

      Hey there! That’s really exciting that your pacing your path into the medical field! Yes, it’s possible to work part time however, it was suggested that we focus on our studies because the program is very intensive. I would suggest finding a job that’s flexible and that can accommodate your school schedule. If you’re able to, I would suggest you take out a loan and focus on your studies. The program can be very high stress and mentally draining. You’ll want to utilize your time well, whether it’s by studying our taking care of your overall health. Hope that helps!

    Hi Dee, I’m 38 and have not experience at all in healthcare, am I too old to get to school for cardiovascular tech,? Will I find job easily?

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  Рік тому

      Hey there! You are definitely not too old to get into healthcare! Being a Cardiovascular tech and a cardiac Sonographer is different though. My suggestion is to see if you’re able to get the opportunity to shadow different healthcare fields to see if it would be the right fit for you. In terms of job prospects, it really depends on where you are. Some areas are easier than others. For myself, I had to move in order to obtain a permanent full time job right away. Hope that helps!

    Hi! One I decided I wanted to do sonography, I immediately gravitated towards cardiac sonography. I’ve been doing research but not sure I have the answers I need. Does a “cardiac” program differ from general / vascular sonography programs? Do I need to take general before I go into cardiac? How about vascular into cardiac? There’s a general certificate in Chicago and a Bachelors for Vascular. Just wondering what the best route may be for me. Thank you so much 🙏

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  Рік тому +2

      Hey there! Actually, someone else asked the same question as you the other day! The answer is yes! The cardiac sonography program DOES differ from the general/vascular sonography program. I have heard there may be loopholes to get cross trained into cardiac sonography if you’re a vascular tech - I’m not sure if that route is still available but this is what I’ve heard for the US. In Canada, it’s different as we require techs to get formally trained in cardiac sonography. It’s probably your best bet to look for a school that specializes in cardiac sonography. Hope that helps!

    Debating between RDH or CVT. I really love both but again! I don't need to take a test like a TEAs for CVT but I do need to take it for RDH ((Dental Hygienists)

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  Рік тому +1

      Hey there! CVT = cardiovascular technologist. It’s a little different to cardiac sonography. CVT’s are usually responsible for ECGs, stress tests, holster monitors, etc. I would suggest to see if you can job shadow. That way you can see for yourself if that’s really a career you want to get into! I would hate to see someone pour thousands of dollars in an education that they aren’t interested in at the end. Best of luck!

    • @PrincePalmUwU

    Is echocardiographer and cardiac sonographer the same?
    Is a Cardiac Tech and Cardiovascular sonography similar?

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  10 місяців тому

      Hey there! Yes to your first question. Cardiac techs and cardiovascular sonographers are different fields. Cardiac techs are responsible with the electro side of the heart. Cardiac Sonographers use ultrasound imaging to look inside of the heart and can visually see structures within the heart

    So what kind of tests do you have to take after you do the program to get certified?

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  Рік тому

      Hey there! It depends on the country you live in. I’m Canada, there is the Sonography Canada exam. In the USA, there is ARDMS. I took both of them since I wasn’t sure if I wanted to work outside of Canada.
      The tests are multiple choice. But you also need to pass your practical portion of your program (aka the hands on experience)
      Hope that helps!

    • @dayswithdee6670
      @dayswithdee6670  10 місяців тому

      Hey there! Hopefully I answer your question correctly, but it really depends on where you live and the qualifications that are required in order to practice. If you’re in North America, you’ll need to be registered with ARDMS. There are several pathways into getting your registration with them so I would consider going through their website and looking into that

      Hey there! I will try my best to make a general Q&A video soon. To answer you question in short, yes, it is a combination of paying an annual fee as well as making sure you provide proof of continuing education - this can look like a few ways, such as attending conferences, rounds, reading journal articles in your own time, etc. I will try my best to answer this question more in detail in a video
