    Tough cooler to watch. Doug I'm just curious do you think Ensan should have Queens in his range with the line he took pre flop or is that strong enough to 4 bet in that spot? If he gets shoved on with that he probably has to call but certainly not loving it. I only ask because if he can have queens, I'm not sure why he's ever trapping tens the way he did. There's alot of bluffs he can have on that flop that would like to get aggressive like KJ and 89 among others, but if he's trapping tens like that it's hard to have much value when he raises.

    I believe Ensan would bet his floats/bluffs on turn and river for maximum fold equity. After he checks back turn he either has a Queen, ten, midpair, possibly 98o, or monster. Su played his hand pretty good until the river call. Once Su value bets the river, he has AA, KK, all the queens or better. Ensans river raise after checking back turn screams a slow played fullhouse or 98s. Granted the best AQ to call are the ones with no spades but you just have to make the crying fold. I would even consider check calling sometimes to induce more river bluffs or thinner value bets.

      I think Su got a little bit greedy, made it too easy for Ensan, given that he'd have reraised kings or aces pre, would have almost certainly have bet turned trip sevens, meaning you're putting yourself in an "ostensible" cooler situation which on closer inspection maybe isn't that much of a cooler.
      Given the match situation, is Ensan really doing that with 88, JJ, KJ, KQ, AK? Because he definitely can have TT, 77, 89, 66, and those hands seem to make a lot more sense.

And would should someone comitte so much BB before the FT as a bluff it makes no sense. Imagine ensan somehow lost this pot it would be more difficult to reach the final Table and the win in the main event i Think nobody would risk that, so he has to have a Monster in this Situation

  • @sasssports9664

    Well two things here:
    1) Su checks the turn and bets over half pot on the river. When a guy takes that line, he is either value betting confidently or is just making a desperate attempt at taking down the pot. So Ensaan can easily raise big there instead of a small one cos Su either has air or has a strong raise calling hand.
    2) Ensaan checks the turn when checked to him and then raises big on the river. Gd players usually dun take that line when they are bluffing.

    Head tilt, pressed lips, and gulp stood out to me when opponent bet into Ensan's flopped set. Combination would worry me once he continues, and especially once he bets/raises later in hand. Head tilt and pressed lips are uncertainty-communicators; would def worry me. At 5:20.
    Have seen no other footage of him, but I'd bet money it's unusual/imbalanced for him.
    Also, loose end-over-end chip flips before river-raise (11:20). I've got a video about loose chip-handling motions fro bettors. End-over-end chip flips, because they're so "gravity-defying"/loose, are highly tied to relaxation. Bluffers just generally aren't that relaxed and are more restrained in their behavior.

      Dany Hermawan See that is your flaw in your thinking. If you understand statistics, you would know that it doesn’t need to be infinity for “long term” to take impact. Let’s say some scenario in poker happens once, well anything can happen, let’s say 10 times, the p value of what statistically happens will go closer to the “infinite” line it should be, but 10 isn’t enough. Now we go to 100, 1000 times for a certain type of scenario, well now your p value is close enough to the infinity that you end up making profit based off that decision. Long term does not mean infinity, it means an amount of time, or amount of certain decisions that take out the risk of losing/winning money in any scenario

    • @brycepowell6639
      @brycepowell6639 4 роки тому

      Dany Hermawan It’s the same scenario as investing in a stock market. If you invest 100$ for one day, with the intention of pulling it out in 24 hours, that’s a complete gamble, but if you wait 10 years for that 100$, your risk of losing money is nearly 0, (even in a depression, after 10 years the stocks have never been at a minus investment) it makes it statistically long term investment that ultimately takes the risk out of poker. I’m 19 and while although poker is harder to do long term, if we follow what’s mathematically correct, in anything we do, if we do it long enough, play enough hands, statistically makes sense to follow the mathematical statistics.

    In a polarized situation, doesn't matter if you are at the top of your range. Your AQ has the same value as a hand like T9. Its all about the villain: is he bluffing or not?

    If was unavoidable , however, if Ensan did have a weaker Queen- KQ or QJ, he would just call. Even Q10... the three bet preflop of Su between two chip stacks should put him on pretty strong hand. So really think if Enson had a Queen he would just call river. River reraise looks more like busted KJ / AJ / J9 / AK or the sick QQ / 1010.

    I mean we're coming to a time in poker where people are comfortably and consistently folding in spots where they get raised or jammed on and don't have the nuts and being right. By your logic AQ is a call but KK is not as good to call because of removal and while it's hard to deny the logic of that approach it also seems like that in live poker, where you don't have 20 software programs breaking down ranges, analyzing tendencies and solving the game for you as you play, you cannot expect most opponents to be playing a balanced GTO approach.

    Long time since i gave up poker so take this as a humble comment.
    On the river when you only choose between a fold or calI... i really dont get the Idea of ocassinaly fold and call most of the time. Either you call or fold 100% of the time (with a given hand) in this situation, you dont mix things up.
    Analogy: Its like if a person goes all in blind preflop every hand (with the same stack size, position and you have the same stack size aswell. You do not call sometimes with 88 and fold some of the time, GTO has to tell you that one of the choices is more profitable..)
    In this case im also leaning towards a call but thats because im guessing its marginally more +ev.
    Im pretty sure i am wrong, please explain how!

    • @Yachem
      @Yachem 5 років тому

      My quick thought is that you can't achieve GTO with just hand distribution alone. You sometimes have to mix decisions with the same hand to be 100% balanced.

    Feels like soooo few players bluff after checking back turn like that. But I don't know anything about Ensan
    I don't really understand SUs check on the turn though. The 7 doesn't change anything does it? Feels like he's just giving a free card there. Doesn't feel like a great hand or board to trap on either.

    • @dochmbi

      yeah, most weaker players never bluff this way, they only trap this way. usually a weak player will bluff with a straightforward raise bet bet type line, never taking passive action in between

    Su talked himself into that call on the river. There are so many hands he loses to in that spot that when Ensan didn’t go all-in, but merely raised, Su should have figured Ensan was trying to induce a call or a shove. I guess he couldn’t find the fold button.

      If you start looking at sizing that way then players can bluff even more profitably with small sizes that “look” like value bets, definitely not an easy fold and as Doug said a call is certainly justifiable

  • @tommyz0123
    @tommyz0123 5 років тому

    Su played this hand on the aggressive end. He did not have a defensive plan going in. What will your opponent call you with when you 3-bet pre-flop and fire big on the flop? You have top pair, top kicker. Anything that can call you has you beat. You have to give your opponent credit for some real hands. If you think about the preflot and flop action, the river is pretty much a blank. Su should have check/call on the river. If your opponent missed a draw, s/he won't risk much knowing you're about to final table. Given the stack size, and it's so close to the final table, your opponent just won't risk a lot of chips on a bluff.

    I'm not convinced about the merit of the check behind by Ensan at the turn card. Why is that good since you want to build a pot and possibly stack your opponent?

    • @coreycunningham1783
      @coreycunningham1783 5 років тому

      ruffymaru He said he didn’t mind a bet either. You can only build a pot and stack your opponent if he also has a hand. We know Su has a hand but Ensan doesn’t so he can’t just bet knowing he’s trying to stack him. Also if Ensan always bets with his good hands that he wants to build a pot with then Su can just always fold, Ensan has to check here for balance.

  • @senthilmonkey

    With stacks like 16m , 32m around why do we need to raise 6.8m out of position against the chip leader ? As a result of that action the pot inflated to 117M by the river. Flatting preflop and all things same throughout the hand would have costed us much less.
