My father passed away at 55. He was the most chill dad ever. We listened to the same music and watched a lot of movies together. I miss him dearly. Stupid cancer. I hope none of you have to go through that.

I cannot listen to this song without crying. It reminds me so much of my grandma who raised me. She was my best friend and I watched her die a couple years ago....it was the most painful experience of my life to watch the life fade out of her eyes while trying to be strong for me...it was horrible. I miss her so much. She was my best friend. 💔 If I cried it didn't matter how old I was, she would make me climb into her lap as she rocked me...like at 25 years old lol. Did not matter.... God I miss her. This song reminds me of the last day we held each other...she was rocking me in her hospital bed when she stopped rocking me.... My heart broke and has been broken ever since. 😥💔
Samantha Conn i am very sorry i read this and it made a tear come to my eyes because i lose my grandma she raised me and was like a mom to me and the night before she waited at the screen door for me after i got home from work i saw her at the screen door standing there i went to head to bed and she said i am proud of you i love you. And the next day she was gone i found her that way.. So i know partly of how you feel its not fair. Im living life half alive part of me died with her.

It's kind of like when you wake up from a dream you have about them, wake up and have to deal with the truth that they're not there anymore. That's the feeling I get when I want to call and realize I can't. That will never happen again for the rest of my life and it is still so painful. She was the kindest person I've ever known. I miss her....I miss her every minute... I'm so so sorry for your loss. They are apart of us forever. That's the love I cling to just like you do ❤ it's nice to at the very least know that ❤ it certainly helps my days.

Samantha Conn, i know how you feel i feel the same pain everyday i wake up anytime i accomplish a goal in life i feel like she is proud and it makes me tear up, the days the hardest for me are my birthdays holidays and her birthday and death anniversary.. Its like a pain inside that never goes away.. I feel im stuck in a nightmare that repeats. But all we can do now is try our best to live on for them and remember all the good times eventually hopefully we can rebuild our own lives and keep going forward. 💓💛💚💙💜💪😊 we will never forget them they taught us right from wrong and raised us with love she was the most important person to me.

We have land both my parents and my aunt in grandma in a separate house on the property and when dad was dying my grandma and aunt were always there since mom was in the hospital with dad. He did receive a heart transplant but we didn't think he was going to so...I wouldn't have made it far. My aunt died not long ago...we thought she was going to be okay...we thought the chemo was working... I loved them so so so much. My heart will forever ache for those 2. The link is the last time we ever spoke. I was trying to get to her and was coming the next day...she never made it...💔😭💔

Me and my dad would carpool to work together and he loved this song. He never skipped it when it would play. He was a veteran and would tell me all the guilt he had because of the things he had to do to get back to us when he was in Iraq. He would tell me, “I’ve done a lot of things I regret but you were the only thing I know I did right in my life.” This song would remind me of when he was deployed and how even though he wasn’t physically there with me his heart was. Now the meaning of the song to me has changed. He died of Covid pneumonia a few months back and every time I hear this song I feel like it’s my Dad speaking to me. His spirit is with me even though I can’t hear his voice. When I put my phone on shuffle this song plays so much especially on days when I feel I can’t take it anymore.

That just makes losing him even harder since everything I see at my job reminds me of him. I’m sorry you relate to my story and hope you’re doing okay as well.

I just want to share this story.
A friend whom I met online introduced this song to me.
I was 17 then, and he was in his 20's studying law. We used to talk a lot online about anime, our career and other random things. He is like a real brother to me & he treats me like his real lil' sis too. But one day, he suddenly disappeared and the last message he sent to me was the link of this song. He said that if I'll miss him, I will just listen to this song. Now I am already 27 and I still remember him sometimes esp. when I hear this song. I am still wondering what happened to him and it really makes me sad. We were so happy back then.. he gives me advices on my teenage years, listen to my non stop complains etc. Fortunately, I can still remember his name and his green/jade eyes. 🥺

Ummm I don't think so. Snow Patrol have had plenty of masterpieces in their time. Run, Chasing Cars, All That I Have, Open Your Eyes, Called Out In The Dark, to name a few. Hardly anyone knows Leona covered the song and it was garbage anyways.
Mike Wilson-Barrett lol actually leona's cover has more than twice as many view as this video has, and anybody who has a good ear have to admit that leona's voice is better in term of range and power, this song is sung at a very low key which makes it soother to many listeners who are not into opera, metal etc, and make it a bit more emotional... It's a matter of preference.
what u r missing is that the way its sung combined with the trembling guitar and angst ridden low vocals is what makes it so memorable its a song about grief powerful in its repression while leona version is just another love ballad .. this song is a work of art .

Nah, Leons'a cover is dreadful. She starts off all delicate then just show-boats her vocal range at the end. This is how Maria Carey and Whitney Houston went after they realised they could sing; their earlier stuff was good, then it just went to wailing.
