The most underrated Dunkirk soundtrack edit I’ve heard. Now I don’t have to manually swap from Variation 15 to end credits. It’s been the edit I’ve always wanted. Thank you!
I've had the same tought and reaction when hearing Variation 15. I went to see Hans Zimmer last night in concert and the only piece that he played from Dunkirk was "Submarine". Truly a disaster.....
I remember playing Variation 15 as the C17 carrying the Queens body landed at RAF Northolt, it just felt fitting for something on that form of scenery, still does now
I'm not British... I don't like war... but this is probably the best movie I've seen in the cinema in this 21st century... and this soundtrack is one of the few that has made me cry in a cinema. Exceptional !!!
the beauty of this piece is that you can't wait for the theme of "nimrod" to explode because it is always under the track and as if is moldering under the ashes and then suddenly resumes fire and when it arrive and explode then it is a joy
Listen to this whilst it has just been announced today that Queen Elizabeth II has sadly passed away. The music matches the mood of Great Britain at this moment. God Bless all that was lost in WW2 and God Bless the Queen and the Commonwealth. 🇬🇧
Actually, Variation 15 was composed by Benjamin Wallfisch for the most part, with Hans Zimmer doing additional music for it, I believe. End titles was by Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe and Benjamin Wallfisch. Also, Sir Edward Elgar's name is attached to both tracks, so I think they take cues from his work? I'm not sure.
I love hans zimmer and the collaboration with his counterparts is fantastic . This piece provokes a wonderful deep emotion that only music can achieve . Thank you for the wonderful miix and edit . Great job 👏
This music cues a huge emotional release from the audience after a whole movie of tension-building. Just hearing this makes me so emotional. I really want to go to Weymouth and Swanage now.

Not underated one bit its his best ever
I remember sitting in the Cinema and saying to myself _"No... He didn't..."_ the very moment I heard those first 3 notes.
Not a dry eye in the house.
It was remarkably moving.

@@jodewa01It’s Supermarine, but yes I wish he played more from Dunkirk.
No matter how many times you watch dunkirk you can never get bored of it

They did, variation 15 is very close to Elgar's Nimrod, that's what they took and rearanged a bit. That's why they mention him.
No shit sherlock still better version hanzs zimmer ads a lot
Right it was actually different composers. I keep forgetting that.
Variation 15 is an reassembled version of Elgar's Nimrod from Enigma Variations. More than just taking cues from the great man.
Thank you stranger, you made many people’s days better, love ya!

Awesome. Variation 15 underlines the deep emotional payoff at the end of the film. Deliverance in the face of/from crushing defeat.
I wanted it. And I talked to myself " I wanna see this movie once again.."
Absolutely smashingly done! I might put this into War Thunder as my title screen music! :D
Thanks for this
