I have been a bird lover since I was a child. I have to admit that I am attracted to anything with a bird on it. That said, the glass basket with a charming little bird on the handle is extra special.
Actually the elongated dish didn't have pears on it. They are avocados, but it is often called sweet pear. This pattern is from Indiana Glass, the Avocado Pattern. I have the green which is getting hard to find. They also made it in yellow, amber, clear and pink. Lovely pattern. Mine belonged to my grandmother and mother.
I collect Fenton shoes ..in love. Also, loved the milk glass Westmoreland piece....and the depression glass sugar/creamer. Goodwill stores in Alabama are hideous.
Even if I had walked out with only the shoe, I would have considered my day complete. I also liked the green compote and the tartan patterned glass platter. I even liked the milk glass: the hand painting brought that piece from meh (to my taste) to really pretty.

I went to goodwill yesterday it was so damn dirty ..fill with total crap ,I found one item and they couldn’t get the computer system up to cash me out asking to wait for 20 minutes, I won’t go back
I am very lucky. I thrift small towns in the Midwest. Almost all the thrift stores are priced like this otherwise nothing would sell. Hard for me to believe other locations have expensive prices at a "thrift" store.
