put a small flat head screwdriver from to top in the little slot and with rubber hammer hit from underneath.Mine popped right out,hope this helps

I must have the wrong parts, cuz those angular tubes do not fit into the ladder steps and yes all the letters match up and the tabs are lined up to the slot in the steps
