butg as an armwrestler it was his prime and ofc if he wants to now he can get much better and then it will be his prime but only if he be n1 i guess or close to this/@@aohjii
Voevoda was the reason i love this sport. My sporting idol. I remember building make shift gym as a kid to copy what he does, on a much lighter scale of course 😂. Even though i am not as big of a fan of his as i use to be, i like and appreciate every elite armwrestler, i wish he becomes more serious and becomes more relevant in this sport again. Supreme athlete.💪
4:44 - in that tournament he is like an armwrestler that was made in a lab, just maxed out in every possible way. Athleticism through the roof! No wonder he showed no emotion, he was completely dead inside from all the hard work and was 100% present, focused and ready. Incredible sight to behold.
Alexey explained he won the world championship only to discover bob sledding on the front page of the paper and his win buried in the back pages. That is why he left for bob sledding, to seek greater recognition for his effort.
@@Fleppo yea he said he was on the Buzz and a couple times on his show when Engin was on there. Travis is doing a tournament at the end of this month that he's competing in, also he was in a practice match with Pavlo and a Chicago state champ that was about 6'8 400lbs and Travis smoked him both arms last week or the week before. He also beat Pavlo in the left but it was only a practice match. Do I need to keep going? Lol
After watching the match with Brzenk in 2023 - Alexey needs to come back into the sport full force. I know he is way more cognizant of his health now, but i do really wish he comes back and commits himself. Its a 50-50 chance. I think he cares way more about his health at this point than coming back at this age and facing opponents who have been in the game and growing while he was gone.
Kind of simplified the comeback vs Bresnan. The Alexy prime saga was early 00s to his comback victory against MMT. He faced Tim like 7 or 8 years later and most importantly cut his hair.. Tim was also a Top 8 competitor and probably top 5 in NA at the time, considered near Jerry Cadorette and Dave Chafee Level
On 4:32 the match with Travis was just weirdly edited in the pulling John docunentary. Pulling up actuall footage shows that Alexey cups Travis into a hook as Travis tries to go sideways leading to an elbow foul by Travis. In the restart, both initiated a Toproll, but Alexeys pronation and back pressure took over, breaking Travis wrist back and pinning him. This scene in the documentary allways bugged me, because it just didnt make sense from the positioning when you look at the first camera angle and the second one. Searching the original footage shows they cut together two Starts.

Bobsled pushers are true athletic freaks. World class speed and power. Just shows what type of athlete Alexey is that he won a couple Olympic medals doing it. Best athlete in armwrestling and it’s not close
Alexey has all the makings of a champion and achieved it, but John Brzenk defended it for longer time. It's going to be difficult to watch those two compete because I like them both. One for USA and the other for Russia, both great sportsman representing their nation well. They have respect for one another and fight hard. I'm rooting for John and hope that if he loses, that it lights a fire inside him and learns from Alexey's fire and passion and to train like never before and comeback and win again. John is the GOAT to me, because of the amount of time he has defended his championship and going beyond his weight class... but I do think John needs to reignite his passion.
Voyevoda was such a fantastic guy : Politician Vegan and calisthenic( at that size ) Armwrestling: european and world champion, beating the GOAT John Brzenk Bobsleding: Silver and bronze medalist. World champion and bronze! Legend! Best in everything he did

See, PEP, I think that if Alexey wasn't so cool he would have stayed in the sport! My logic behind this is the movie Cool Runnings which we all remember and love. Alexey clearly saw that movie for the first time in 2004 and bought himself a lucky egg, much like Sanka's! Cool Runnings is cool, Alexey is cool, I therefore blame that epic movie for Alexey's decision to veer off Change my mind!!!
The accusation is the participation of supposed schemes with test tubes of his teammates, that whole Russian Olympics team thing about Meldonium. So no, he wasn't accused of using it, and Meldonium is not "peds", it affects heart in some way. supposedly enhances stamina in some way. They whole accusation is politically motivated, but the bottom line is: it wasn't about peds.
6:25 Look that ! This proves that there is always someone stronger! EVER ! the guy has a big belly and also a big white beard (he's not young).... against a younger Alexey and in perfect physical shape... like 95% body is muscle and he couldn't beat the guy !
and calling win over Alexey "getting rob" is kinda disrespecting. You sure know it wouldn't be easy pesy cake to win over Alexey like that and Travis deserve a merit for it.
Prime ALEXEY was such a gigachad.
Alexey is actually the guy that leveled up the arm wrestling world because of his power, even before Denis Cyplenkov!
Alexey look like a vampire from movies

Gold medalist in the Olympics they failed to mention.
2 medals if I remember correctly
me too lol
Have you seen professional bobsled athletes? They are absolute units.
They took his medal back after their team tested positive for PEDs though, so he did everything for nothing. Doesn't pay to cheat.

He's an elite athlete for sure. Top tier genetics as evidenced by his ability to change sports at the highest level.
I'm most disturbed that when Alexey grew out his long hair he didn't rename himself to Sexy Voevoda.
He sure was a really handsome guy back then
I have to say it................GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I hope he continues with armwrestling, he have the mindset of a true champion

They call Tim the Legend killer for a reason.. hes basically the gate keeper to the super heavy weight leagues.
