Obasanjo should not talk again? If he doesn't says anything, you people will be saying Obasanjo has not say anything about What is happening to Nigerians in south Africa.
Our country was much better during Obasanjo's time. People should show respect to this man. Why will you be calling him a fool. We are all not 100% perfect. We all have our short comings. Insults will not take us anywhere.

I have never met former President Olusegun Obasanjo in person. I only see him on TV and newspapers. Just like everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, here is mine. Whether Obasanjo did well during his time or otherwise is now left for history to judge. We now see where Nigeria is in the comity of nations. Many of our youths are running out of the country in droves in order to fend for themselves. No foreigner is going to come to rebuild Nigeria for us. The onus rests with us. We shall begin by asking ourselves the vital question "what kind of leaders or politicians do we really need?" In democracy it is said that power belongs to the people. It's time voters refrained from accepting money from politicians in order to vote for them. When we mortgage our conscience for a pittance, we will not have the moral rectitude to hold the feet of politicians to the fire when they fail to perform. If we vote in thieves into power, we have only succeeded in empowering them to loot what belongs to all of us. It is time we educated ourselves and those around us on the need to examine the calibre of people we vote. Many a time our votes are influenced by nepotism. He/she comes from my place we say many a time. That is a wrong standard. Rather the question should be "who is qualified, more experienced to do the job?" "What is their track record in either public or private position?" Nigerians including me need to rise up and salvage our nation from politicians who do not mean well for the masses. It is only then that "the labors of our heroes past shall never be in vain". Bemoaning the past or denouncing and insulting former politicians will not do us any good. It is time we looked forward into the future.
