    This is amazing! This has me more excited than any camera and for 5k it’s very affordable!

    This is EXCELLENT. $5K is still a little steep for a lot of us to buy, but i envision that local rental houses will make this an inexpensive rental package in the near future

      yeah convince rental companies to rent out a VP cart!

      @@timkido ... this might happen with systems like these. Since there is no software license fee, this could be a good option for rental houses to have on their tools.

    Why would I use this over the Retracker Bliss for virtual production? I’m starting to get into VP and it looks like Retracker Bliss has more bang for the buck.
    But currently, anything over $1000 is out of the budget for me until I can start making money with VP. I ordered 3 Tundra Trackers and I’m gonna get 2 Index Base Station 2.0 to use with Unreal Engine 5. I think total cost for that is roughly $700. That’s gonna be my setup until I can afford a better solution.

    Wow this is a game changer, especially for smaller productions once more people start learning the system. The virtual lights have a lot of potential too.
    Also, I have to know what kind of mic the guy is using from 4:50 onward?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому

      I also think that this is a game changer. Specially when you simplify the setup and calibration.
      The microphone is my Audix UEM81 Supercardioid Polarized Condenser. They are good for conventions to isolate the floor noise. (You'll see better on the next videos at NAB floor).

    I think Mars CamTrak is really great for education. But 5K is too much for this semi-professional system :-/. It's not accurate enough for feature films, but good enough to learn the principles of VP. I was expecting a price between 1,5K - 2,5K for this set. Hopefully, HTC will sell smaller sets for people who have already some Lighthouse station and Vive tracker at home.

    OK, so I got the lens encoder... Ordered the Vive Mars package... now.. the waiting game begins lol :) can't wait to see the results... I am already using vive trackers with my mocap suit, for props, and it works great, If this can be a game changer vs. buying an optitrack or vicon system @ 60K us ... then the 6K (In Canada it's 6600$) will be well worth it.. and will allow me to get a bigger LED setup :) :) :)

    You said genlock helps immensely with jitter but is a quadro gpu still the best option when it comes to performance? Or would a 3090 be just as adequate with this system?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому

      Quadro is the way to go for synch.

  • @Justin_Allen

    Very interested in playing with this. What type is your timecode input jack? I am assuming I can use tentacle sync's for timecode input. Also what is the latency rate for the timecode. IN other words, how long once timecode it sync'ed to it will it start losing the lock?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому +1

      Timecode is a 3/4 stereo jack connector. I never try the Tentacle, is a good question.
      Latency is another good question but that is something that varies between cameras. Every camera has their own delay.

    • @Justin_Allen
      @Justin_Allen 2 роки тому

      @@RamirosLab Thanks for the thoughts. Regarding latency, I was asking about the timecode. In other words does the Cam Track need a continuous timecode input, to can you just initially sync the timecode and then remove the tentacle sync from the device and the timecode keeps going. In that case how long will it stay frame accurate synced?

    Anyone?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому

      That's "The Indiemark Lens Encoder from LOLED Virtual". Is not a motor encoder, but a reader that sends data via LiveLink the exact position of your lens.

    jitterless??

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому

      Check the second part. It has an internal filter. It’s a very stable system. The genlock makes all the difference and the lens calibration it’s also a key element to achieve a perfect tracking. I also recommend to use more stable stand for the lighthouses (preferably a heavy C-Stand with plenty of sandbags). Don’t ever use the stands used for VR. That’s most of the time the main reason you have jittery.
