Clips from the 1994 television show The Dojo Floor. The show ran for several years and was a lot of fun to make. I would direct some of the segments better now - but I have learned a lot since then - lol
This was not a show for martial artist but for the general public. The aim was to give a thumbnail overview of various concepts and philosophies.

Man what a long time ago. I received a purple belt under Sensei Tarver. I reminder looking up to this man and I have to say I owe him a lot for showing me how to be a man.

I remember the dojo right off of Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge. I had to miss a month because of work and when I came back you had moved. I thought you closed your dojo down and that I lost my money for the black belt program. by the time I stumbled across your new place it was right before I moved to las Vegas. I wish I could finish training with you. I don't remember the girl's name in the background. but I do remember during sparring when she would groin kick you her toes curled back just enough to get under your cup. ouch! fun times.

Sensei Tarver honored my contract that I had with another Isshin Ryu Studio in Baton Rouge after I couldn't go back to class and they eventually moved out of town. My bad...
I showed up at his Dojo and they carried me all the way to 2nd degree brown belt before ultimately moving to California.
Dude, went to the V.A. clinic for rib cage X-rays after testing for green belt. He kept it real...
