This is a masterpiece! And you’re right about the Lord Of the Flies reference. Kai is doing an amazing job with his drums again. Oh, and those Troy’s pipes at the end! Great reaction as always from you! Keep your spirits up, my friend! 🔥🤘
In the review of the Yesterwynde album Tuonela Magazine wrote that Kai is the mvp of the record. I've gotta agree with that. What he does with his drums never stops to blow my mind. And this song is one of the best I've heard in years.
AMEN TO THAT. The more I hear Kai the more impressed I am of his play. He throws in so many subtleties you don't catch for several listening. He's one of the very best ever.
Besides 'Lanternlight', this is my second favourite song of the album. It really challenges Floor to get through this 'metal rap'. This song is about the journey of life encountering Strange Islands (persons and situations) on this rollercoaster we all are on. It also is the story of Nightwish as a band going to 'stormy weather' in its history. Some clues in the lyrics are 'quintet' (the original number of members) and 'retiree' (the various line up changes and in this case especially Marko). The 'calm' ending reflects the state the band is in now. The lord of a single Fly refers also to another song on this album 'Children of Ata'. Another fascinating story Tuomas made a song about.
Another wonderful reaction to one of the greatest Nightwish songs ever, in my humble opinion. You weren't reaching, it was a reference to Lord of the Flies, Tuomas frequently references literary works in Nightwish lyrics. Stay strong brother and keep up the good work 🤘
Tuomas: ‘An Ocean Of Strange Islands‘ takes us on the ultimate musical island-hopping adventure, reminding the adventurer that happiness is most joyous when shared.” Hi from Finland 😍
Stay strong friend. 🤘Thanks for the reaction of this amazing Song. Yesterwynde is a Masterpiece . Grettings from northern Germany 🤘 😊 ups, i forget. The Opposition of Lord of the flies is The Children of 'Ata from this Album
Composers like Beethoven and Mozart didn't have the possibility to work with metal musicians and instruments we know today. There was no singer like Floor Jansen somewhere in history as far as we know. But Tuomas Holopainen with his band is able to work with classical orchestra's to mix up several sounds and styles into this incredible compositions. We are so lucky to live in the time of Nightwish. As a person living with horrible mood swings because of being bipolar, having autism and ADHD, my heart goes out to you. I find the music of Nightwish has healing powers. One of the best songs imho is "The Poet and the Pendulum". There is a background story and most of the Nightwish Army want you to know the story of how Tarja left the band, before you listen to that song. But apart from that any sensitive person who knows depression, a painful soul, can relate to that song about feeling abandoned by friends, experiencing a social death. It's a song in five chapters and the last chapter is the most healing part. Any child deserves to hear the loving words of "mother and father".
Your favourite inspiring music, releases natural endorphins, for pain relief. Like it or not, we might be distant islands, but we "Saaiil aand Seeeeek!" on a similar Ocean. We are with you in spirit. Did you see a possible reference? The Butterfly effect 🦋 The sail connecting with the clouds? Stay strong. This whole album is an adventure.
In all fairness, respect to UA-cam for reaching out (how ever little an email would actually do in a potential suicide case) can’t imagine twitter or facebook doing that…
I feel for you my friend, that's why I want to reach out to you with this song. This is a song Floor wrote for her mother. Floor explained that she could never sing this song properly; “I felt it every time I sang it. She (her mom) had rheumatism, and all kinds of nasty things, fortunately not life-threatening diseases, but things that plagued her daily, and hurt her. You don't want to be around that all day, so my mother learned well to keep it from us a little bit in that sense. But yes, when you know each other very well (my mother and I are two hands in one), I feel it just as well. But her strength to....okay, it's super annoying, but we have to deal with it”. And that's the story behind this song. Stay strong!!! ua-cam.com/video/IT8J3bDtN4U/v-deo.html Lyrics "strong" I see your pain I see it grow slowly inside you You cannot control it The hurting's ruthless, you cannot win I see every smile you fake Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain To stand strong Day after day, to be there for us, always To pretend there's nothing wrong How you feel oh how it feels No words describe it Your body feels like a stranger We cannot stop it, we cannot win I see every smile you fake Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain To stand strong I see every smile you fake Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain to stand strong Every painful day, I'll be there for you, always And together we will stand strong Greetings from the first airborne division of the Nightwish army based at Maastricht, The Netherlands.
Hi TRM Reacts, i love to see your reaction videos of Nightwish. For me they are the best band in the world 😍 I also have another recommendation for you. If you like surprises and prog music, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers! You won't be dissappointed....I PROMISE! Hope to see your reaction to this masterpiece soon and for now....Greetings, stay safe and lots of love from The Netherlands, Martin.
Greetings from Arkansas USA. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. There are alot of folks out here to lean on. Stay strong and don't be afraid to reach out. Since I found Nightwish about 7 years ago, I along with countless other reaction channels have tried to explain Nightwish. Only thing I could ever come up with is Nightwish doin' Nightwish things . The brilliance of Tuomas really shines through on this new album. It's so different from previous works but equally mind blowing. Several fans have criticized the album because it is so different. My hope is they can find a way to embrace the change and understand, brilliance fades if it's not allowed to reach for the unknown. If you haven'y listened to the entire Yesterwynde album, please do. You'll be amazed from start to finish. - - - I like Sway and Children of 'Ata. - BTW - google Children of 'Ata = it's one heck of a true story.
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done again as always
Stay strong brother and greetings from Nightwish`s home country!🤘
28 years of Nightwish in one song❣️🤘

You should react to Invicible from Floor Jansens soloalbum
I agree 😊
Nightwish (thanks to Tuomas) is mental medicine among plenty of other good things. If you let it in. Don't you agree?

Lyrics "strong"
I see your pain I see it grow
slowly inside you
You cannot control it
The hurting's ruthless, you cannot win
I see every smile you fake
Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain
To stand strong
Day after day, to be there for us, always
To pretend there's nothing wrong
How you feel oh how it feels
No words describe it
Your body feels like a stranger
We cannot stop it, we cannot win
I see every smile you fake
Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain
To stand strong
I see every smile you fake
Strong emotion, strong devotion to ignore the pain
to stand strong
Every painful day, I'll be there for you, always
And together we will stand strong
