@ClintDempsey76 94/95. They got Farrell soon after that and I believe the ratings were solid by the late 90's. I've never seen a more talented lineup than the one from around '86 to '92, though. A lot of them went on to have very successful careers.
@ClintDempsey76 Just checked the show roster for '95. Chris Elliot, Chris Farley, Ellen Cleghorne, Norm Macdonald, Tim Meadows, Kevin Nealon....not sure about ratings issues but it was amazing at that time

The SNL 1986-1993 run was incredible. The years leading up to 1986 were good and I wish I could say the ones post 1993. If they had half the talent they did during this great run it would still be an all-star lineup or fist loads more than all other previous all-star shows we'have had like Friends and Cheers which had a long list of great performers.
RIP, George H.W. Bush. Of course, SNL relentlessly lampooned every president from Nixon to Trump. Bush probably had the best sense of humor over these parodies and became best buddies with Dana Carvey.

@Sammy N No one born in the early nor the late eighties grew up being called a Millennial. It was generation Y. You're not that either, if you were born in 1990. You had to be born post 2000, hence the term, millennial. US media is trying to isolate millennials from people who were taught, inspired and trained by the baby boomers, so they eradicated Generation Y, and are trying to make Generation X completely irrelevant. A generation without elders and guides is a lost one and easily manipulated one. I was lucky to have been trained, taught and guided by the Black Panthers, The Young Lords, Weather men, Vietnam Antiwar activists, the Black Liberation Army, people that worked together with Malcolm X, people who fought struggles long forgotten. Those are all baby boomers. Millennials don't have that. So be Generation Y, embrace that and guide the future. One. One more thing, I was still in college in 2003. We organized against Bush's wars. None of us called ourselves Millennials. None of us. Highschoolers coming in, were calling themselves Gen Y.
@Always Never Operation Desert Storm - Bush. Predates Bill Clinton. Though Bill Clinton did continue with the sanctions that lead to the death of millions of Iraqis. Millennials were too young to remember Bush Jr's war on Iraq, because Millennials were born post 2000. If you were born prior to 2000, you're not a Millennial, regardless of what people are being told trying to erase entire generations of people. Late 90's the earliest that can be called Millennials. The generations that dealt with Bush Jr's war were Generation X and Generation Y guided by the inspirational work of the Baby Boomers who apposed the invasion of Vietnam and fought for civil rights.

...and avenged the deaths of over 3,000 innocent people. By declaring war on terrorism worldwide. Osama Bin laden caused ALL of this because Iraq invaded Kuwait, threatened Saudi Arabia and it's oil production and stability in the region. Where the U.S. and our allies, INCLUDING Arab nations such as Egypt and Syria contributed in stopping Saddam. Bin Laden's response was anger that the Saudi's 1) did not allow Bin Laden's "associates"- former Mujaheddin fighters from Afghanistan to "defend" the Saudi kingdom, and 2) instead allow "infidels" into the "holy land" to defend it. W. was right. Terrorists were lured to Iraq by the US to be killed instead of the US being caught in a quagmire in the mountains of Afghanistan like the Soviets had, and Bin Laden hoped to replicate. Then Obama announced his plan to remove US military forces from the region, which had been under control, and emboldened radical Islamist groups leading to the creation of ISIS. Which Trump has corrected. Your views on facts and history are horribly skewed.
