Love going this build on Merlin lately even though it's meta it's just so fun. The new thing apparently is Ethereal so I've been going same exact build but E staff last item, so basically full proc item build, just drop an arcane 1 in the middle of a team, chunks half of their health bar and gives you easy top dmg lmao.
It's really funny because people think they can dive a Merlin because he's a mage and then you press 2 buttons and their HP bar disappears
Those ult dump engages onto you is the only reason that team didn't F6 against you. That's respect.

Hot take: divine is always good. The antiheal passive might as well not matter with the free lightning on your casts. So much extra damge.
What about in the special April fools gamemode instead of the “everyone is Loki” standard, why not have magical gods be able to build physical items and the other way around?

As someone who started playing Merlin recently I also noticed that purple is kinda meh. I think it’s more worth to switch between fire and ice stance.

Now do it again but with poke mage disco. Pendulum of ages, chronos pendent, tablet, soul gem, soul reaver, divine/shard/thoth. Get them procs. Discordia 1 is the best item proccing poke in the game and with full cdr is super spammable
Try Hel she slaps hard with tablet, but I'm also recently new so I could be wrong.

They changed archdruid's fury to do magical damage, but they buffed tablet 0.14% true damage per stack

By pressing 3 after 4
click 1 2 or 3 for the stance you want after you click 4. Not sure about console.

I still don't like tablet on any of the mages I play. It just feels clunky to stack both with enemies either harassing mid to the point that poking is really risky or teammates randomly stealing wave because they aren't used to their mage trying to stack later than usual for Book of Thoth. Yes this is a "skill" issue. The problem is the skill is not on my end to control. I can't do anything about my team taking my stacks if they won't listen to me, so I find is a much safer bet to just skip the tablet and just stack thoth. Basically Tablet is better the higher up you play because your team will be smart enough to play around you and you them. If and when I reach that level I will start building tablet again
