Schützenpanzer Marder is a tracked German infantry fighting vehicle designed for use with the mechanized infantry specialized for IFV combat. It has been operated by the German Army as the main Panzergrenadiere IFV from 1970s through to the present day. Marder has proven to be a successful and solid infantry fighting vehicle design.

Despite being a far less capable platform in general the Marder is still prefered to the PUMA by some German IFV commanders. It's one of the very few IFVs in the world that can be used in heavily forested areas. The turret and gun are so compact they barely protrude over the hull even in 90° and 210° positions, meaning where other IFVs and MBTs would hit trees and other obstacles with their barrel the Marder can rotate its turret freely and lay down hate.
Unstabilized gun with a comparatively small caliber. Doesent matter much when its 50 meters from your position and fires 880+ HE rounds per minute into your trench. The guys that manned the (ex-)surovikin line will agree on that. The ones that are left.
Now I know why the Indonesians call them the deadly "tree squirrel".
Would love to see one for the older Japanese Type 74 MBT, or perhaps something a little different and something for the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.

Fantastic video! And the music fits perfectly to the 80's feeling :) Tornado, Marder, Leopard 1 and MG 3 rulez da world :D (and PzH 2000, but it is from another generation I know XD ). But seriously, I think an IFV needs a 37-40 mm autocannon and not just a 20mm one.

So far, i havent seen Ukrainian Go Pro videos or even footages of Marder IFVs in action. I wonder which Ukrainian Brigades they went into?
Because the Air Assault Brigades use Strykers, Mechanized Brigades uses Bradley IFVs, i wonder where they all went? Same question goes to the Polish donated Rosamak IFVs.
82nd Air Assault Brigade uses Marders and Strykers. They were the ones to breach the Surovikin Line.

@@konsanalite There is footage of Strykers and Marders behind the line, also one Marder destroyed after ATGM hit (crew bailed) and another damaged and abandoned.
