I really enjoy your videos, you should wrap that platform with speaker carpet so the wood does not scratch your interior, and you can use carriage bolts so there is no sharp bolt head outside the platform. keep up the good work, and thank you for your service to the community
this is why so many outdoorsy types love the subaru outback. i have a mazda 3 hatchback and plan to do something like this. either way its a great idea to convert a car. it just makes sense. great job!!!!!
If it's not permanent, I would have used a small bean bag chair for the front seat and cut it to fit. You're basically just resting your lower legs on it when you sleep.
I am about the remove my front passenger seat as well. Did you have to disconnect the battery before unplugging the cords to the seat? Does the car computer or airbag system has issue without the seat?
Thanks man, trying this setup out tonight. Tried pushing and folding the front seats all the way and doing a platform that way but at 6'3" it was still not long enough.
I would love to finish this vid, but the music is so freeeeekin LOUD and his voice is almost impossible to hear. The dude needs to learn how to modulate and the proper way to create your soundtrack.

+Ezra Enfinger thanks. I will probably do something like that

I just saw a photo where someone just turned the passenger seat backwards and accomplished essentially the same thing.
Do u have a link for that Michael?
I'm 6'2" 22 lbs and I sleep I'm my Kia a bunch. Surprisingly roomy for a big guy.
your really lightweight.
Lol....220lbs.
Last time I was 22lb I was two years old and two feet tall.
Awesome instructional vid! I despise rear seat headrests with no passengers. I ONLY have mine in if I have guests...
Hey thanks for the video. I was wondering where do you store the front seat when you take it out?

Sleep with the head on platform and a bean bag cant be made smaller for storage
@@EvolvingDaily: I see.
why wait till you get to your destination to remove passenger seat? where will you put it where u are sleeping??
Bungee cord to the top, lol xD. You just made ur cart into an RV
@@OzzieTheHead That's not exactly stealthy!
Any update ? How did this workout for you ? Still using this method, any other things you’d change or recommend ? Thx
Good job
yes why not leave your seat at home? thank you
Great video man, what size nuts need to be removed to take out the seat. I dont have a KIA but am renting one when I get to Mexico, appreciate it.
+kingkurtzig maybe 17mm. Ill have to check
I would really appreciate it
This is better than hotel. Why didn't you remove the rear seats as well?
lamyeechiu the rear seats fold really flat and they are a pain to remove.
I am about the remove my front passenger seat as well. Did you have to disconnect the battery before unplugging the cords to the seat? Does the car computer or airbag system has issue without the seat?
lamyeechiu I have no idea about the computer or airbag. I had no issues or lights come on but I would say consult with kia.
lamyeechiu I didn't disconnect the battery. just removed the two wiring harnesses
I asked them. They advised me to let them remove it for $200.
So you simply unplugged the cord? Have you reinstall the seat without computer issue?
This is helpful!
Awesome.
+Louella Alebiosu thanks
👍go for dude!
How easy/fast is removing the seat?
defeldus 4 nuts and 2 harness clips. It takes about 5 min
