does anyone know what the instrument is called right at the start of the video? with the heavy sidechaining, sounds like something Meric would use

this isnt a rhodes at all, its just a soullful deep key sound..if your looking for that sound of a bendy rhodes go on splice, look up "Exilir Drake Pad" and ammend the ADSR accordingly to taste

It might be due to a different init patch (init patch vs. no presets loaded patch) - more here: www.productionmusiclive.com/blogs/news/117066309-massive-sound-design-our-init-preset-patch

may be becaus there is an effect chain after massive...

I think State of Noize Electronics is correct. From what I can see, he is also running massive through an EQ and the Vinyl filter which he noted in the beginning of the video. Massive alone can't achieve the sound he created, but it's a good start. I'm personally going to tinker with this and see what happens.

If my Rhodes sounded like that I would have it repaired ! Lounge Lizard is probably a better VST if you dont have the real thing.

misleading video title, thats not a rhodes sound at all, its a tacky sounding 'edm ' dance pad. please title the videos correctly in future.
