Memorial Day at Taos Pueblo, NM 2017

Memorial Day ceremonies took place Monday May 29, 2017 at Taos Pueblo, New Mexico USA. The Native American tribe honored the many veterans who served in United States military and made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. Video shot and edited by Rick Romancito, The Taos News

Thank you Mr. Mondragon for remembering and honoring my father Harry Rudy Lefthand. Yes he was forever changed by his experiences in the Vietnam war. But I have fond memories of him as a dad when I was a little girl. He used to sing to me and my 3 siblings. He was gentle and loving. This was when he was stationed at Camp Pendleton next to Oceanside California and then on Coronado Island with the Naval amphibious forces. He was in the first group of men when the Marine Corps First Force Reconnaissance Squadron began. He was a 🪂 parachutist, a scuba diver and behind the lines advisor. Last time time I saw my dad he sang the Korean song he’d learned from some Korean soldiers he helped to train. I have always been proud to be his daughter Rena Lefthand Clark
