  • Hey Everyone, Over the last year you’ve seen me use the Char-Griller Gravity 980 A LOT! I love this cooker, it does everything very well, however, the one thing I wish was a little bit better on it was its mobility. Honestly, I probably move this cooker around more than anyone out there, but if you’re someone who needs or wants to roll your gravity over uneven ground or gravel this modification may be for you as well. The best part to me is that none of this will void your warranty! I love modifications that don't compromise the original product and as far as that goes This is my favorite. So if you decide to give this a shot as well, let me know how it comes out for you! #chargrillergravity980 #smokermodifications #gravitycooker

take the bottom stand off and make a shorter one out of heavier metal, will lower the gravity on it so its less top heavy and solve all your issues. you could also just cut the ones on it and make is shorter and re bolt the legs to the cart

You should keep a portable power bank on hand for power outages

Lol my dyna-glo’s wheel broke the first week I had it.
I swapped out the wheels with the same ones in this video. I love it! It moves easily from the shed, across the yard, and up on the deck with ease.

I was wondering if you could post video of you using it, seems like the cooking area would be about chest high

I’m not positive in the size but it was from lowes and rated for 1000 pounds, had the perfect footprint for the gravity

@@Cookoutcoach Thanks, any other newer mods for the cart that you have done?

Let's say the power goes out and can't use the electronics would you be able to still smoke. More or less like a offset just have to use ur own probes or it wouldn't work like that

Have you found any mods to lift the cook chamber handle? I find there isn't enough clearance for anything on the shelf

Why not just shorten the legs to get the correct height and keep the lager wheels for less rolling resistance.

You could, my goal for this mod was to be simple, so like bolt on, and no cutting drilling or voiding of warranties. But yeah you could absolutely cut those legs and drill some extra holes and just use u bolts all the way around

Hey man, like your idea, however> Yeah Top heavy. Also, those big pneumatic tires,,,, to me not such a good idea. Sooner or later one of them will loose some air, and with the weight and height of that thing,,,,,,,,,, boom, it's going to be tipping over, and then you're going to be needing help to get it right side up ... and than change/fix the flat tire. Just my opinion.

@@Cookoutcoach Hello, I have just purchased a 980 for myself and am considering the gorilla cart. Did you ever try to 8" wheels? If so, did it alleviate your top-heavy concerns? Thanks!

@cookoutcoach @RollTide18Xs HOW did the smaller wheels work out? Looking at doing this myself 😊

Moving mine in and out of my BBQ shack is a pain and bent the side shelf because of the uneven ground. Some big ass wheels like the LSG offer would be awesome, Cheers
