    Love the exberiment. Prob is how many places actually put their beers in coolers which frankly is where I think they all should be. This is why it’s nice when u can get beer from a smaller brewery cuz they seem to keep all their stuff cold. I have many nice bottle shops around me that shelve 90% of their stuff just for access, but we realise unless u get it the day it’s put on the shelf it’s gonna spoil especially the more expensive neipas.

    Great experiment! I wonder what the results for a lager or stout would be like

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews

      Definitely nothing for the stout. Lager would be interesting.

    i am pretty sure it was you who mentioned an A-B study comparing storage temperatures (and was hoping it was this video) - was that you? and if so, do you have a link to it/the findings? i've done some googling for it and haven't found it yet. thanks

      Hm, I can't remember a study that I would've mentioned. Maybe it was someone else.

      Try it out yourself sometime Geoff. I'm actually curious how NE IPAs will be affected. Maybe I should try that...

    Great video and educational. Keep it up! Also, I really respect the authenticity and how your don't edit scenes out of your videos. It's all there. Nice job & Cheers!

      Yeah, I do like keeping it short for viewers, but no edits (for ease on my side). That's also why I offered that people just skip the end of the video if they just wanted the results after 6 min.

    I find it more and more difficult to find any IPA that aren't at least 2 to 3 months old

    Did you ensure no other beer reviewer has done this and has an iron-clad copyright and trademark to things like the process, using a blindfold, the world "experiment", and Aquifina?

      Haha... Appreciate the support and that we can joke about this now without more drama...

    i figured you'd nail it, not surprised. still interesting to see. thanks for this! happy to say that at my store, hoppy beers (and most every beer below 10%) goes straight from the distro truck to the cooler.

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews
      @DarwinsBeerReviews  4 роки тому

      Perfect! That's what I would focus on as well with hops when I was in retail. And then pull old product as well!

    so when buying IPA at the store how many months from canning is okay or recommended? i just baught a beer that was canned mid may is that too far out?

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews
      @DarwinsBeerReviews  4 роки тому

      I recommend a 2 months at most and ideally if it sat in the fridge.

    • @MrWalker1000

      @@DarwinsBeerReviews yeah i think what i got was right at its limit so not so bad. I've heard before you should never get more than 3 months.

    I still like jai lai when it's a little on the old side. But it loses some of its magnificence when it isn't on the fresher side.

      Yeah, this stood up after 2.5 months, even with 1.5 months out of fridge.

    Imagine if there was a liquor store that ONLY sold hoppy beers in a fridge and they advertised that. Perhaps beer drinkers would flock to their store.

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews
      @DarwinsBeerReviews  4 роки тому

      Hm, I don't think we'd see that much difference... Especially with 1-3 months...

  • @cloudyview

    Would be interesting to see if it was the temp variability or just the high temp itself that caused the the outdoor one to change so much.

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews
      @DarwinsBeerReviews  4 роки тому

      I suspect it's just the high temp since cans are sealed and there shouldn't be a possibility for O2 moving in and out of package with temp changes.

    Refrigerated beer trucks and solely refrigerated beer cases may increase the cost of retail beer

    • @DarwinsBeerReviews
      @DarwinsBeerReviews  4 роки тому +1

      I suspect that retailers can figure it out with all their fridge space already. It's really education and care for product that is lacking.

      Darwin's Beer Reviews every Total Wine & More I have ever been to has several isles of shelf beers, and very limited refrigerators. That doesn’t even address the trucks that deliver the beer.
