I have a 2020 Denali 1500 with the 3.0L and it is amazing. I can easily average 27+ MPG on long highway trips and typically average right around 25MPG on my daily mixed driving where I drive 19 miles each way to work on back roads at 50MPG and under with lots of stop lights. For the auto stop/start if you have the AC on it won't turn the truck off unless it's at temp and you'll find it will kick the engine back on if the temp inside drops. I can attest that running with auto stop/start is good for at least 1 MPG of average if used. The 3.0L Duramax and the 10 speed trans is quite possibly one of the best pairings GM has ever offered. I just wish more people would adopt it. I had the Colorado with the 2.8L Duramax prior and this truck actually gets better mileage.

I live in southern california san diego area and i search for one of these beasts with the diesel engine and nope you won't find any, is like they been snatched by everybody, I did saw a couple but with 30k miles and priced at 82k I was like dude wtf that's like buying it brand new LOL Plenty of gas guzzlers but none of them diesel engines sadly.

I think you're a gallon is about 20% larger than the American gallon you would have to subtract like 8 Mi per gallon but that is about 30 Mi per gallon and I think your mile is a little bit shorter as well

@@TheBrettMizer an imperial gallon is 4.546 litres and a US gallon is 3.785 litres. Her Audi Q7 3.0L diesel is doing just under 46 imperial mpg to a US 38mpg.

There are some minor things they could improve especially with the controls and the dash look and using all led for the exterior lights. Other than that, it’s super sexy and the diesel is great.

    Great review! Thank you.
You should try to test the BMW X5 30d (diesel in line 6 with just a tiny more hp and torque than this Suburban). You will amazed about power delivery, fuel efficiency, torque and smoothness. Too bad that you don’t get these in the US despite the fact that they are made in USA 🇺🇸
Amazing car and so cheap to run! Nothing can beat a diesel if your car weighs over 4500 pounds. EVS are coming and are getting great but I’d rather cruise 650 miles on a fuel tank in my X5 than having range anxiety or planning my journey like a complicated battle.

This truck already has stop-go ability. Considering Mercedes Benz GLE 350 de is a Diesel PHEV produced in the USA but sold in Europe that means a Diesel PHEV would be ideal for such a large vehicle. Consequently General Motors can use this platform as Chevrolet, GMC or Cadillac to offer a Diesel PHEV for the USA market.

    • @gparyani

Most automakers don't really like diesel hybrids since the Atkinson cycle gasoline engines used on hybrids provides a similar fuel economy to a diesel engine, and the primary advantages of diesel engines (such as low-end torque) are satisfied through the electric motors. Also, gasoline emits 10% less CO2 per amount burned than diesel - with a conventional powertrain, the efficiency gains of diesel engines are more than enough to offset that, but with an Atkinson-cycle engine with similar efficiency it's measurably lower, so the vehicle has lower CO2 emissions numbers as a result. Also, in Europe diesels are more popular and as such diesel fuel is cheaper, but here in the U.S. automotive diesel is more expensive due to lower demand, so the per-mile cost of a diesel hybrid would be higher than a gasoline hybrid.

The filler necks can only take so much at one time. I wonder why don’t various youtube reviewers just just the first click of the 3 available on any fuel nozzle and go with that method.
If your worries about time fill fast at first then switch to the fist click

My dad had a 1986 Suburban diesel (6.2L). Long term engine life wasn’t as good as our Japanese and German diesel car motors. But at the time, the 20 MPG on diesel- which was cheaper than gasoline prices back then- was more efficient than the gas Suburbans that tended to get 9-12 MPG.

32 mpg for a tank, from the European point of view, is truly great.
But I suppose that in the city the mpg value gets much much lower.

How is the passing power of that engine? Let’s say you get stuck behind a truck or Winnebago going 65 in a 70, traffic in the left lane is flying by at 80+ and you have a split second to dart over and punch it. Is it gonna fall on its face and wind itself out like my father-in-law’s minivan when it’s loaded down? Right now I’m spoiled with my F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost. At any speed, even if I just lightly tap the throttle I get afterburner-like thrust. But I’m really curious about the diesel Suburban as a long range cruiser.

    • @trpblr
      @trpblr 3 роки тому +7

highway passing is amazing with the 3.0L diesel. at 80 you are roughly 1500 RPM so you are right in the heart of peak torque. I will say if you are towing and at 80 then it is the opposite, it does not accelerate well at high speed with a load. And again that's because when towing and driving 75-80 you will be sitting closer to 3000 rpm and you just don't have much left at that RPM.

if the fuel gauge in the suburban said it was full then you were full doesnt matter what the pump does or says ????!!!!! it only shuts off alot on a high flo fuel pump because of the fuel splashing back and hitting the shutoff on the fuel fill nozzle the filler neck cant handle the flow on the high flow pumps at full pressure i should know because i have a 21 suburban LS with the diesel and use the high flow pumps all the time no issues

Hey, what's the payload on this? I haven't finished watching this yet, however one of the most important things for people buying in this segment (especially if they take the diesel) is the payload amount - so that they know they're within the legal limit if towing with passengers. (tongue weight etc) - can you pls post what the payload sticker says on this model? It's a 4wd correct?
