It hasn't outright been said why Seungsik is leader now, wheather it's because their company decided it or Seungwoo no longer wanted to be leader (maybe he felt guilty of X1 disbanding) but Seungwoo is happy and supportive of Seungsik being the leader.

I suggest checking out some of their older stuff to get more of a grasp of the sound they're more known for. Mayday and What I Said were quiet a bit different than what they used to do, I recommend listening tot heir 2nd mini album and then Time of Sorrow. What I Said also came with their 1st full length album that has a good blend of their newer sound and what they used to do so 10/10 check it out!
