Great job Matt, we attend Ms. Fire Academy once a year for our aircraft FF recertification. It is an awesome place, if anyone hasn't been thru the academy they need to go.

Thanks Matt for all the great videos, when will we have Drones in the fire service in active fires ?

That's a great question. The biggest hurdle will be the FAA and finding appropriate use guidelines and COAs. The COA "Certificate of Authority" is already a process for public safety and using "drones" actually named UAS's (Unmanned Aerial Systems). To me there is still some major flaws in that process that really defeat the purpose of having an affordable aerial recon device. Everything I am reading looks like you will need to have a Pilot in Command (Actually licensed) in order to fly these during a "mission". That pretty much knocks the price out of reach for the vast majority of public safety agencies.
