I really enjoyed this tutorial. I couldn’t believe that people would think that their entitled to get free templates and if I’m not mistaken, you only charge $2.50 for the templates so that’s basically free in my opinion
I have a question. If you were to put some lights under the acrylic, would it make the fins look like they are lit? I’m thinking yes but I wanted to ask just to get a second opinion. Also what do you think the best lighting source would be? Of course it’ll need to be pretty small unless you built up the gauntlets but I really would like your opinion.
Hey man I’m making these for Halloween and I was wondering how exactly you did the heat forming. How long was it heated for and how long did you hold it around the can?
Thanks for this, I purchased the template and have been finding this tutorial super helpful with my current project! What did you use to cut out the blue pieces? Can you recommend a type of harder material for the fins and bases that won't require a powered saw? I have some a couple small hand saws, an Xacto knife, a dremel, etc. but I live in a city apartment and don't have access to anything much bigger.
Im glad to hear the pattern is working well for you. If you have a cut off wheel for your dremel that should work for cutting out most acrylic sheets. You'll just have to do a little clean up with sandpaper or files as the cut off wheel leaves a melted burr on the edges. You can also cut thin acrylic with your Xacto blade, just go slow and make a few passes with it. You'll be cutting a little bit each time you drag the blade across.
This channel is underrated.

Weld-on 4 is made for acrylic. Would work well for those fins. And probably work better since it essentially fuses the parts together
