I chose Yog when i made my first character upon downloading Conan onto my PS4 ..... I was incredibly disappointed when i realized you can't actually do ritual sacrifices with the Altar.. you just throw purified meat in the altar.
A few things to also note: 1) Some of the alters change their size and footprint when you upgrade them. Be aware of this before you build walls or structures around them as they will delete any building tiles that the new shape touches. Practice in single player for tight/intricate builds. 2) Some require more room than others to place down and some can be fit in floor plans that cannot accommodate others. Yog alter has the smallest and most basic shape for the most compact design builds. This is important for putting alters in structures for the use of protection bubbles. 3) The rate at which they produce zeal is also very important and some mats are easier than others to farm. Look into this when deciding which alter will provide your protection as upkeeps are very resource consuming and some alters are just not feasible for steady zeal production. Also, some Archpriests are easier to acquire than others, Derketo being notoriously hard to obtain but a great religion for zeal production.
The Derketo Elixer of Freedom not only removes cripple but better yet gives 50 points of stamina AND increases stamina regin and it lasts 20 mintues. It is invaluble in boss fights or raids!
Just a quick note... I'm currently playing this as I watch... with my Ymir Altar open... Ice Shard Arrows now only cost 1 Shard and not 10, the Sticks and Feathers are still the same, at 10 and 2 respectively... so it looks like they changed this in patch between when you made this vid, and when I've been playing... ;o)

@@VaniverseGaming far from the worst. Ymir is an easy way to get Black Ice especially if your base is far from the mountains it spawns at, and the Ymir Armor is heavy armor now and gives you pretty decent heat and cold protection and decent enough armor until you can get one of the end game sets

I used the Derketo just to make the sexy clothes for my female dancers. They changed the way to make the snake arrows, before you would just get a bunch of branches and craft them at the carpenters bench. Now you need the hearts and branches and craft them at the alter.
@@VaniverseGaming Also the Mitra religion gives you those statues that give out water. Their really good if you're not close to a water source. Their better than the wells, the wells don't work, but this ones do. Also the purified flesh didn't have an experiation date, but now they do. I wonder why the change?
After 2 years with many updates from Funcom, I think the ranks of religions have change a lot. I would also recommend to add another variable to determine ranks, the minimum level required to get those advantages. Basically all advantages from religions are useless once reaching Level 60. My opinion for religion after update 2.5.2 is: 1. The Best religion is Ymir. It gives a very powerful Ice Arrows early. It also the only religion that gives a very good Heavy armor complete with good cold resistant early, and the materials are easy to acquire. BTW at medium level, Ymir gives a very good weapon which effect make almost immune to cold - right by the time we need to explore the cold region for Star Metals. Considering to get Ymir religion we must visit the dangerous north region, it is recommended to choose Ymir as the first religion when creating character. 2. Optional religions: - Derketo gives Stamina potion. It is barely useful at low level when stamina attribute is low. - Mitra's Ambrosia used to be good since it gives instant healing. Since Funcom changed it to like normal food, so it becomes useless after certain update. However by using Mitra beacon, it is very easy to to get Mitra Avatar early. - Set's poison arrows is ok, but the damage is insignificant. Go for Gas arrows instead. The antidote seems good, but as long as being careful not to get poisoned every minute while playing, no need for it at all. - Yog and Zath are decent, but I don't find they are better than the other optional religions. (Update 2.5.2 has a bug that prevent you to get Zath religion) 3. Useless religions: - Jhebal Sag. To get Jhebal Sag religion requires a lot of very hard fights. Even though some of Jhebal Sag advantages are useful, all are considered useless since you will mostly at Level 60 when you managed to successfully get it. Don't bother to get it at all.
@@jasonjesse8838 . A good consideration. PVP and PVE need a different strategy. Btw playing either in Exile Land or Siptah also requires different strategy.
I typically do choose Set when I create my character, then go immediately learn Mitra because it's the easier to find out of the two and in my personal opinion the best alter to have at the beginning of the game. You can easily farm sticks and also iron bars off of weak NPCs to make a Mitra ritual item on the alter straight out of the gate with no iron farming or furnace, and then that is an easy way to have healing potions super early on in the form of Ambrosia. I love Set because of the snake arrows which are good for bosses... but I noticed the other day they nerfed the crap out of poison so it only stacks to 10 instead of 20, so that sucks.
except they nerfted ambrosia so its not as good as it use to be..hence y i tell new people it literlly doesn't matter who you choose you can get them all
My personal favorite is Derketo. 1. Because It looks overall the best religion all round in playthrough and style (whether slaver, king or queen). 2. It has the coolest alter (I mean the goddess literally gives you a bed, technically, and who else gives you this comfort?) 3. The idea that when this religion is patched (hopefully) you can make derketo statues, which look awsome, and a higher spawn for priests. (if you haven't caught on yet, I'm into creativity over survival) I don't care who judges my opinion, this is mine and I respect others opinions, and I'll agree to disagree.
ok a few things 1: they long since fixed the ratio problems, so Ymir is better also Ymir can craft black Ice which is used for making Black ice structures, 2: Derketo's feast stacks with other healing items and the starter potions gives manifestations of Zeal, 3:Mitra's Ambrosia is considered a potion so it also stacks with the healing provided by food, Yog's consumable is listed as food so you can't stack it. so in order i would say 1st: Set, 2nd: Derketo, 3rd: Jhebbal Sag, 4th: Ymir, 5th: Mitra, 6th: Yog, 7th: Crom
would have liked to hear more about weapons and “armor” that can be produced through each alter...i agree, set arrows are amazing....they are the main reason i use the alter (now that they’ve nerfed the zeal production)...but, what about the setite mask? they’re gas/sandstorm masks....so that said, i’d like to have heard about what each T3 alter actually makes...
agreed, gear is also very important, considering jhebbal sag weapon style is unique and you wont find it often so learning to fight a player using them wont be easy, it be quite the surprise, and i have found getting the jump on someone in any form is a great boon and almost always grantees a win, unless your enemy can adapt quickly which i do not find often, if ever regardless of the bragging of a single person about themselves. if many many people can back up their claim then yea i will give them their due, otherwise i and many more will stomp you.
ehhh i totally disagree and say thats your preference.. i never had any issues when i choose derketo getting manifestations what so ever .. and jhebbal sag really is only for baits and you have to run that duegon so not to say you cant use it but your compairing things that are actually pretty easy to get for all of them
In a server, I role played as a fanatic of Mitra. I made a clan named the Holy Saviours of Mitra. Our mission was to make Mitra fountains all around the map. We also became traders of manifestations and ambrosia, becoming very rich. We became so powerful that we decided to make a crusade on other religions. But the guys of set annihilate our armies. That was a bad decision 🤣🤣
I did say to pick Ymir. That was from 10 months ago when he was OP. Also, it is very easy to get to the other trainers to learn the other trainers so you can still pick Ymir so you do not have to run there. If they ever buff him it will save you a trip :) Cheers!
You forgot to add in the fact that the set mask also doubles as a sandstorm mask so you can get a sandstorm mask before you learn the perk and go into the desert to mine iron for the steel you need for the regular mask
Actually I would rank the religions way different (solo player): 5. Mitra: food is crap, cloths are crap, weapon (iron level) is crap! You get two decorations: a figure which is nice and a waterwell which is nice but also replaceable with a regular waterwell. 4. Yog: food is ok but replaceable with any other food, weapon is total bullcrap (stone level). One decoration which is nice. 3. Ymir: I put Ymir below Set due the the unique cloths that come with Set. No food other then feast (no problem, you get plenty of food all over the place). Weapon is good (hardened steel level) and the arrows are awesome (update: only 1 iceshard need to make them)! 11 hit points. Cloths are crap (same designs as the regular ones you can make). One decoration which looks nice. 2. Set: No food but good potion. Weapon is crap (iron level). Arrows are awesome (haven't made up my mind which are better Ymir or Set arrows). You get two decorations which are nice and a unique set of cloths. 1. Derketo: Food is good (making bread) + good potion, weapon is BAMM (starmetal level), you get an upgraded farming tool - gives you 5 manifestations - and a very awesome set of unique cloths (each piece gives you 1 manifestation - silk needed, say, insanely cheap to make)! Haven't done JSag yet. Update: Tried. What a piece of shit. You got to fight 5-6 mini bosses and if you die you have to do THE WHOLE dungeon again. Of course without your ammo and food that you used. The Werwolf Boss is a speedy, close to teleport pain that will simply bleed you to death so you will have some anti bleed potion ... and lots of them due to the sabertooths, wolfs and panthers also causing bleed in the dungeon. That is a lot of effort, time and mats to do the religion. Questionable if that's worth it. UPDATE: Ymir = you only need 1 Ice Shard now to make arrows + 10 branches and 2 feathers. Hit points are 11 which is pretty good for arrows.
BattleBro115 Well the world of Conan is set before the end of the ice age so I’m betting the reason that he’s the god of the prehistoric Norse is because Odin and his brothers haven’t killed him yet.
Through Conan's perception though these gods are supposed to be fake, aren't they? "These are not gods. They are what men want gods to be. Weapons". But maybe that's just him having some resentment for deities because of what Crom did to his father.
By not adding Crom the Devs are staying true to Lore. Crom distrusts other gods and cares not for prayers. He's invoked through steel. If you watched the old Conan The Barbarian Movies Conans father goes over it with Conan at the beginning of the movie. So in future if anyone asks well why did Crom not have an Avatar? Refer them to the movie and Robert E Howards writing on Conan.
Appreciate the comments. Crom is solely for RP purposes as you stated. In a game were avatars give you a huge advantage in PvP, he will never be selected. However, once you realize you can take him in the beginning and unlock all the other ones via trainers, then RP away I say. Cheers!

Well you cannot start with Jhebbal Sag. You have to complete a rather difficult dungeon to unlock the religion. So You may want to start with another one. Cheers!

Derketo potion used to increase Encumbrance. Currently it increases Stamina. its not as useless as you are making it sound. (Edit: The potion last about an hour its great for Travel or battle.)

Great video. More or less agree with you on every point. Tho I think the mitra weapon; the Staff of Epimetreus would have been worth a mention. Even tho it did just get its armour pen nerfed in the most recent patch, it's still an absolute monster of a weapon for pvp in the right hands and build. On par with a Telith's Sorrow for best weapon in game imo.
Unmentioned, the Set Mask acts as a Sandstorm mask that you can get at level 15 rather than 30 like the actual sandstorm. Starting with Set on a 1X leveling server is a huge boost.

Great video, late getting into the game and still relevant. Real question who do you choose, do you pick set off the bat? I pick Crom only because I am a completions and grabbing up the others is not that difficult, so I be all 7 even though Crom gets me nothing.
I think your strategy is sound. Usually people pick Ymir since he is the farthest away. Same idea really, choose a religion that you cannot easily learn. My hope is they change this someday and allow you to only choose one religion. That would make a lot more sense. Cheers!

BTW at medium level, Ymir gives a very good weapon which effect make almost immune to cold - right by the time we need to explore the cold region for Star Metals. Considering to get Ymir religion we must visit the dangerous north region, it is recommended to choose Ymir as the first religion when creating character.
2. Optional religions:
- Derketo gives Stamina potion. It is barely useful at low level when stamina attribute is low.
- Mitra's Ambrosia used to be good since it gives instant healing. Since Funcom changed it to like normal food, so it becomes useless after certain update. However by using Mitra beacon, it is very easy to to get Mitra Avatar early.
- Set's poison arrows is ok, but the damage is insignificant. Go for Gas arrows instead. The antidote seems good, but as long as being careful not to get poisoned every minute while playing, no need for it at all.
- Yog and Zath are decent, but I don't find they are better than the other optional religions. (Update 2.5.2 has a bug that prevent you to get Zath religion)
3. Useless religions:
- Jhebal Sag. To get Jhebal Sag religion requires a lot of very hard fights. Even though some of Jhebal Sag advantages are useful, all are considered useless since you will mostly at Level 60 when you managed to successfully get it. Don't bother to get it at all.

You must PVE. Set it is crucial to mitigate feroxic dagges and any venom infused weapon.
@@jasonjesse8838 . A good consideration. PVP and PVE need a different strategy. Btw playing either in Exile Land or Siptah also requires different strategy.
I typically do choose Set when I create my character, then go immediately learn Mitra because it's the easier to find out of the two and in my personal opinion the best alter to have at the beginning of the game. You can easily farm sticks and also iron bars off of weak NPCs to make a Mitra ritual item on the alter straight out of the gate with no iron farming or furnace, and then that is an easy way to have healing potions super early on in the form of Ambrosia. I love Set because of the snake arrows which are good for bosses... but I noticed the other day they nerfed the crap out of poison so it only stacks to 10 instead of 20, so that sucks.

My personal favorite is Derketo.
1. Because It looks overall the best religion all round in playthrough and style (whether slaver, king or queen).
2. It has the coolest alter (I mean the goddess literally gives you a bed, technically, and who else gives you this comfort?)
3. The idea that when this religion is patched (hopefully) you can make derketo statues, which look awsome, and a higher spawn for priests.
(if you haven't caught on yet, I'm into creativity over survival)
I don't care who judges my opinion, this is mine and I respect others opinions, and I'll agree to disagree.
I also chose Derketo for these reasons. Her alter is just breathtaking to me.

ok a few things 1: they long since fixed the ratio problems, so Ymir is better also Ymir can craft black Ice which is used for making Black ice structures, 2: Derketo's feast stacks with other healing items and the starter potions gives manifestations of Zeal, 3:Mitra's Ambrosia is considered a potion so it also stacks with the healing provided by food, Yog's consumable is listed as food so you can't stack it.
so in order i would say 1st: Set, 2nd: Derketo, 3rd: Jhebbal Sag, 4th: Ymir, 5th: Mitra, 6th: Yog, 7th: Crom

Ya I’m pretty confused, just started this trying to learn what I can before i start, found it pretty difficult to keep up
would have liked to hear more about weapons and “armor” that can be produced through each alter...i agree, set arrows are amazing....they are the main reason i use the alter (now that they’ve nerfed the zeal production)...but, what about the setite mask? they’re gas/sandstorm masks....so that said, i’d like to have heard about what each T3 alter actually makes...
agreed, gear is also very important, considering jhebbal sag weapon style is unique and you wont find it often so learning to fight a player using them wont be easy, it be quite the surprise, and i have found getting the jump on someone in any form is a great boon and almost always grantees a win, unless your enemy can adapt quickly which i do not find often, if ever regardless of the bragging of a single person about themselves. if many many people can back up their claim then yea i will give them their due, otherwise i and many more will stomp you.

ehhh i totally disagree and say thats your preference.. i never had any issues when i choose derketo getting manifestations what so ever .. and jhebbal sag really is only for baits and you have to run that duegon so not to say you cant use it but your compairing things that are actually pretty easy to get for all of them

In a server, I role played as a fanatic of Mitra.
I made a clan named the Holy Saviours of Mitra.
Our mission was to make Mitra fountains all around the map. We also became traders of manifestations and ambrosia, becoming very rich.
We became so powerful that we decided to make a crusade on other religions. But the guys of set annihilate our armies. That was a bad decision 🤣🤣
I love the role play idea of that server. But yes, if you go against set you are bringing a pocket knife to a machete fight lol. Cheers!

I did say to pick Ymir. That was from 10 months ago when he was OP. Also, it is very easy to get to the other trainers to learn the other trainers so you can still pick Ymir so you do not have to run there. If they ever buff him it will save you a trip :) Cheers!
You forgot to add in the fact that the set mask also doubles as a sandstorm mask so you can get a sandstorm mask before you learn the perk and go into the desert to mine iron for the steel you need for the regular mask

Actually I would rank the religions way different (solo player):
5. Mitra: food is crap, cloths are crap, weapon (iron level) is crap! You get two decorations: a figure which is nice and a waterwell which is nice but also replaceable with a regular waterwell.
4. Yog: food is ok but replaceable with any other food, weapon is total bullcrap (stone level). One decoration which is nice.
3. Ymir: I put Ymir below Set due the the unique cloths that come with Set. No food other then feast (no problem, you get plenty of food all over the place). Weapon is good (hardened steel level) and the arrows are awesome (update: only 1 iceshard need to make them)! 11 hit points. Cloths are crap (same designs as the regular ones you can make). One decoration which looks nice.
2. Set: No food but good potion. Weapon is crap (iron level). Arrows are awesome (haven't made up my mind which are better Ymir or Set arrows). You get two decorations which are nice and a unique set of cloths.
1. Derketo: Food is good (making bread) + good potion, weapon is BAMM (starmetal level), you get an upgraded farming tool - gives you 5 manifestations - and a very awesome set of unique cloths (each piece gives you 1 manifestation - silk needed, say, insanely cheap to make)!
Haven't done JSag yet. Update: Tried. What a piece of shit. You got to fight 5-6 mini bosses and if you die you have to do THE WHOLE dungeon again. Of course without your ammo and food that you used. The Werwolf Boss is a speedy, close to teleport pain that will simply bleed you to death so you will have some anti bleed potion ... and lots of them due to the sabertooths, wolfs and panthers also causing bleed in the dungeon. That is a lot of effort, time and mats to do the religion. Questionable if that's worth it.
UPDATE: Ymir = you only need 1 Ice Shard now to make arrows + 10 branches and 2 feathers. Hit points are 11 which is pretty good for arrows.

Through Conan's perception though these gods are supposed to be fake, aren't they? "These are not gods. They are what men want gods to be. Weapons". But maybe that's just him having some resentment for deities because of what Crom did to his father.
They made it a lot easier to get archpriests. I think 3 spawn in sepermu all next to each other, and there is a chance to get a named one there

By not adding Crom the Devs are staying true to Lore. Crom distrusts other gods and cares not for prayers. He's invoked through steel. If you watched the old Conan The Barbarian Movies Conans father goes over it with Conan at the beginning of the movie. So in future if anyone asks well why did Crom not have an Avatar? Refer them to the movie and Robert E Howards writing on Conan.
Appreciate the comments. Crom is solely for RP purposes as you stated. In a game were avatars give you a huge advantage in PvP, he will never be selected. However, once you realize you can take him in the beginning and unlock all the other ones via trainers, then RP away I say. Cheers!
@@VaniverseGaming Well the game tells you it in the info when you select Crom also. But even if you choose to go with Crom there's religion learners ingame which you can select them all anyway. So it don't matter really at the start who you pick.

Derketo potion used to increase Encumbrance. Currently it increases Stamina. its not as useless as you are making it sound. (Edit: The potion last about an hour its great for Travel or battle.)

Great video. More or less agree with you on every point. Tho I think the mitra weapon; the Staff of Epimetreus would have been worth a mention. Even tho it did just get its armour pen nerfed in the most recent patch, it's still an absolute monster of a weapon for pvp in the right hands and build. On par with a Telith's Sorrow for best weapon in game imo.

Unmentioned, the Set Mask acts as a Sandstorm mask that you can get at level 15 rather than 30 like the actual sandstorm. Starting with Set on a 1X leveling server is a huge boost.

Great video, late getting into the game and still relevant. Real question who do you choose, do you pick set off the bat?
I pick Crom only because I am a completions and grabbing up the others is not that difficult, so I be all 7 even though Crom gets me nothing.
I think your strategy is sound. Usually people pick Ymir since he is the farthest away. Same idea really, choose a religion that you cannot easily learn. My hope is they change this someday and allow you to only choose one religion. That would make a lot more sense. Cheers!
