2:59:10 that cinematic music cutoff was bonkers, i don't know if Trott had a hand in it but wow that epic conclusion to this emotional rollercoaster was just 🤌🤌 chef's kiss
It's big episodes like these that I wish we had a more in depth look behind the scenes for High Rollers, similar to Critical Role's Talks Machina/4sided Dive. Like how much impact did the ritual rolls matter? What would Kim have done if she decided to retire Nova? What would happen if the entire team had gone with Nova to stop the destruction of Vortinssar? Would they have been able to successfully channel the power of the statue Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-style? Just so many questions I would love have quick answers to aside from an end-of-campaign wrap up.
Like I swear trott is just entertaining to watch even when he’s not doing anything, you could watch the whole series only focusing on him and it’d be entertaining
So glad to have another episode, and I’m so glad that you guys aren’t letting the OGL crisis impact what you’re making, it wouldn’t be the same without you regardless of whatever you end up using in the future
I wonder if the party had rolled high enough if Nova's connection to Tianggong when she tried to summon them would have been stronger or, vice versa if they rolled worse if there would have been no connection at all, not even an echo of an echo.
54:42 Uhm actually one of the reasons why gold has been considered valuable for so many years is because it's extremely resistant to "air, water, alkalis and all acids except aqua regia" (quote taken from a quick google search) so that gold probably wouldn't've melted. That's also part of why gold is useful to make currency out of too because it's resistant to those forms of wear and tear.

Spoilers! I’m wondering how Kim will go about Nova’s warlock levels being gone. She was mostly a fighter before this, so I assume she’ll just go further into that class. It would be cool however to see her go into a new multiclass like fighter artificer. Regardless, I’m super looking forward to what Nova will do next!
Listening to High rollers in public is such a risk; either people see me manically laughing or crying without any context. I have loudly yelled out NO, in a supermarket before, when Sentry got downed in the cathedral. A woman next to me thought I was critisising her choice of vegetables.
Too bad about the tech error eating the intro, but the episode itself was great 👍It was a very neat encounter, showing you can challenge a high level party with low level monsters, Howard was a big laugh once again and I felt the ending might be a tear-jerker, but it still got me. Great roleplay by everyone! For the algorithm!
That electrum is magically enchanted to be that strong right Mark? Right?? Electrum is quite malleable and there's no way it would stand up to Aayla even looking in its direction let alone pose a challenge to bend for her. Electrum is only slightly tougher than pure gold. And a commoner can bend gold with their hands. Other than that, great episode!
@@HighRollersDnD Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate knowing! Hopefully it can be back next time because I love seeing the shenanigans you guys get up to before the official start of the episode.
Spoilers Idk. I get that it's... sorrowful? That she lost him, but it doesn't make sense. Hadn't their souls merged? She already lost so much losing the gong seems a bit much. Either way. Great resurrection scene guys.
@@Markcrazeer She's already respecced once from pure Hexblade to a fighter mix. Most acids on their own can’t dissolve gold but the acidic mixture of nitric and hydrochloric acid, also called Aqua Regia, is able to dissolve gold. My headcanon is that acid damage is likely some sort of perfect mixture, potentially magical in nature. Otherwise acid would be less effective in certain situations.

It’s weird and somehow unsettling to have Rhi rolling so well 😅.

A good answer to this:
1) It’s Aeroisian gold, which is not resistant to acid
OR
2) It’s magic acid

In this fight temp hp is counter intuitive. It essentially doubles the damage. Provided aura of life is not activated.
