- Grimsby Cleethorpes schools. I Covered most of the school's and bit of the history of some. I filmed this during the summer break so no one at school.

Very interesting. My mother and brother went to the school on Eleanor Street in the 1920s and 1930s, the sorry state of which hasn't changed since I visited it several years ago. Shame.

I can remember the Girls school building as the Model Boat Museum jammed packed with model Boats which were transferred from Lincolnshire to Humberside over the River Humber to Hull. Did they ever get them back? Tony in Essex.

Heneage was the old Technical School i was there from 1972 to 76, Brilliant School C B Smith was Headmaster.

The Modern Day Nunsthorpe Acadmy was my Infants mixed boys and girls and Junior School seperated into Boy and Girls Schools. It was at this school in the Summer of July 1969 that the Junior School Head Master Mr White told the whole Boys School we were going to watch a LIVE Broadcast from the Moon of Neil Armstrong stepping onto the Luar surface. I raised my hand like I was taught too and said in a loud voice, "I am sorry Headmaster you are Wrong it is a television tape recording of what happened LIVE at approx 3.00AM" He insisted there was no such thing as a Televison Tape Recording and pointed to the tv and the on screen caption "Live from the MOON". Luckily also at the school at the same time was my Eldest Brother Andrew, My Eldest Sister Carol and my younger Brother Peter, they all stood up and confirmed we as a family of 7 children and both of our Parents watch it LIVE as Neil Armstrong stepped out of the Moon Lander onto the Moon at approx 3AM this very same day. Happy childhood memorys of getting an apology from the Head Master. Tony in Essex.

I played on the playground on the roof in strand street
Two great schools.

I went to Strand Street School 1942 -43 until we were bombed out living at Bath Street.
@@iexploresI remember in 1943 watching an RAF plane chasing a German plane from that elevated playground.

I just found your channel and I moved away from Grimsby in fact I emmegrated in 2000, you showed old clee infats as it was when I went there but you didn't show the juniors or whatever it is now presuming the junior school is still there, it is or was built right behind the infants, also you should have gone down Collin av to get a shot from the front of the school, would have been interesting to see if the roundabout was still inside the entrance with the weeping willow on it

Yes they demolished alot of schools like you say academy stuff. I have a video on the channel all about schools I did last year.
@@iexplores I'll take a look at that, see I moved to America and the only things that are academys here are military based schools so it worries me what there doing to British kids nowadays
I went to old clee infant then the juniors then havelock senior school, I don't understand where Britain got the term academy
There is a place called beacon academy and its pretty big
