I like the plant stand as is. Great find! I've been looking for a pair of upholstered chairs forever and last week, after dropping off some small things & clothes I popped into the store and there they were. I'm so thankful for Duo calls. I quickly called my husband and he liked them too. It's been years I'm looking for chairs. It's the long game, and I'm here for it. Now, I just need a coffee table or something to use as one...

That's a great free find, the plant stand! Leave it natural. I would not paint it black.
Metlox was a pottery factory in my hometown of Manhattan Beach. Their pieces are collector items now. They closed down back in the late 70's. The salt cellar is pretty unusual.

Growing up we had a rubber tree plant I believe it was. My Mom had us wipe the leaves w milk. Shiny and dust free.
You can definitely tie and brace your fig. I would definitely get him in a larger planter soon though. He looks happy but he'd be even happier in a bigger home ❤️

Regarding the fiddle leaf figs: instead of tying up the stems to give them support (which you certainly can do), I would try a different tactic: pruning the tree of the stems that have lost most of their leaves. You can try propagating the ends of those stems if you want new plants (which are perfect for gifting!). But by pruning the trees, you encourage better and more compact growth. Fiddles love tropical environments with plenty of sunlight. If they get too cold (in the 50's or below), they'll drop their leaves so they can become dormant. If they don't get enough light, they get "leggy," just like other plants or trees.
And yes, your philodendron will be fine in the pot it's in right now. They don't mind being somewhat root-bound (unlike many other plants). You should repot a philodendron about every two years. I have one that's in a 1930's jardiniere and I love it (although it's GIGANTIC).

They're called salt cellars or salt boxes. I have a copper one with a wooden top, i paid $8 for.. but i really like the blue & white or ceramic ones and still looking for one! The fiddle leaf is beautiful!❤ I like the cushion color of those cheer, but not so much the gold metal arms & legs, a little like an office chair🤷♀️ But you won't know til you try it! Love the tiered planter.. and free is awesome! Please leave it raw!! Its too pretty to paint! Thanks for sharing,i always enjoy😊
I love the wicker plat r you found on the road. In my area, people seldom put things out on the street or roads because trash collectors won’t pick it up. It is a shame because it would keep things out of the landfill which is where you have to take if you don’t donate it.

You can tie the branch with anything to be honest. Just don’t move your FLF too much because it takes them time to adjust each time they are moved and it may cause leaves to drop. Same goes for rubber plant/ tree.

Your fiddle leaf plant is beautiful. There is a lot of information online on how to care for fiddle leaf plants. I do think it is okay to tie them up. I’d leave the planter natural. Enjoyed this video.

@@SarahsOctoberHomeyou can tie supports to most plants,but, make a figure eight with your string and use the open end of your string to tie the limb or branch that needs the support.That way you can make sure it’s loose enough to not impede the growth of your plant, or damage the branch.

Don’t paint the plant stand. It’s already pretty in its natural state. When you get chairs just make sure they are comfy to sit in. You’ll find the right pair at some point.
