Yes, the Congolese (particularly those from what was then Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of Congo) played a role in supporting South Africans during the apartheid era, especially through their solidarity with the liberation movements. Here are a few key points: 1. Political and Diplomatic Support: Zaire, under President Mobutu Sese Seko, was part of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), which supported the fight against apartheid. The OAU provided platforms for the African National Congress (ANC) and other anti-apartheid movements to gain international support. 2. Training and Safe Havens: Congolese territory occasionally served as a transit point or base for freedom fighters, as many African countries were part of a network aiding liberation movements. 3. Moral and Cultural Support: The Congolese people expressed solidarity with South Africans through cultural and social initiatives that opposed apartheid, uniting Africans in their shared struggle against colonial and racist regimes. Despite Mobutu's later political complexities, the spirit of Pan-Africanism drove many African nations, including Zaire, to resist apartheid and provide crucial support to South African liberation efforts.

Ramaphosa must be arrested he think he is untouchable
SA when I read your comment find out that you have forgotten who supported you in apartheid of course DA will never support DRC(Zaire) because of that you want take your soldiers back go head we Congolese know that only force can end criminal enterprise of Kagame and his colonizers who are not different from SA DA party
Let the DRC and Rwanda sort out this mess they have created. It is not our war - and our soldiers must return home and not be sacrificed for this nonsense.
yes it is not your conflict but south africa is one of beneficiaries of congo unrest hence south africa and others southern african countries and eastern african countries played a role in 1997 overthrown of mobutu sese seko and made sure congolese armies never recovered again,,,
M23 is Rwanda, UK, France there are used African people
The same people funding so call conflicts now playing referee
What do you think will happen......south Africa lacks counter terrorism experience, south Africa lacks war experience......they only have apartheid experience 😂😂😂😂😂
My question ❓, what the South Africa government the Will do to Rwanda government because Rwanda is killing.owr Hutu brothers.
Congo is the headquarters of the bantu nations south Africa is a bantu country so they hve to protect their shield cause the nilotic tutsi plan is to conquer kongo and the rest of the sub sahran Africa is doomed
Marais is wrong. It's our war, Africa is one country. Africa should unite. It should have a single army, a single health system for now.
If Africa is one country why are they fighting ?
Ask the leaders of each African country if they wish to unite.
And Mozambique, our Next door neighbour's??
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Do you seriously know the difference between a country and a continent? 😂😂😂
Why are our soldiers in DRC. This is not our war. Stupidity @work.
Useless DA
Talking shit
This guy is nothing but a misleading agent, he is clueless or hired gun
Hired gun
Yes it is !!
Just like apartheid was not the Africa’s problem……wow..
We have lost three soldiers in Malawi. They have died on duty serving continent
This analyst is being disingenuous and dishonest because even during apartheid South Africa had military activity in other countries such as Angola . Marais is just blatantly lying . South Africa as both a member of the African Union and SADC have a responsibility to bring regional stability.
But they want intervene in Palestine conflict😂😂😂
M23 are fighting for their freedom, their rights and their identity it is very critical to see the leaders of South Africa sending their sordiers to fight the people who are fighting for their freedom. Where is the difference between ANC and aparteid
Why is this yte people speaking for Africa omg

if Africa is to unite one day then obviously war is necessary..and if SA is to lead this Africa one day we need our military and special forces plus inteligence in every strategic coner of africa...kagame needs to be stoped he is now in Mozambique and we been kicked out..this is not safe for us...this white guy can keep talking but the ANC are playing the game😂😂😂
I actually agree with this guy but I feel this is more a political move for him.
Look this white man
Let south Africa help Congolese, the can't fight the can only dance
Marais is not African, he 8s European he don't give a damn if Africa is plunged into conflicts. He know he can easily fly to his ancestors land in Europe if Africa is in uncontrollable turmoil
