Quit my 9-5 job 4 years ago and started a small construction business from scratch. COVID hit and we lost almost everything except the business. We saved our cash and bought 12 raw acres last January and I built a small home on there. My kids love it out here in the woods. The stories are being written on a daily basis. Being a small town country girl, being my dad's sidekick in everything possible from working on old cars, keeping up the land, riding through the country or just sitting at his shop just listening to his life growing up and being in the service. He was a simple man with a heart of gold, worked hard for everything he ever had and was always thankful. He had a stroke and was paralyzed on the left side and then diagnosed with agent orange and fought that battle for more than 8 years and still never complained but we lost him on 12/12/12 and I'm so glad he thought me to love, enjoy and appreciate simple things in life and don't take a second for granted, and when I listen to this song it makes me think of him. My husband told me to listen to this song. The video is perfect. I cried, both in joy and sadness. We are having it played at our 40th anniversary party - it pretty well tells our story. We "bought dirt" right before we got married in 1982. 40 acres and a run down house. We raised two beautiful daughters plus cows and dogs. The farm has expanded and we have a newer home, but lost our youngest daughter at the age of 29. She would have loved this song to - she was a Luke Bryan fan. The memories from the first years are ever so precious. Thank you Jordan and Luke.

This song brings tears to my eyes. Thinking of my Dad and grandad who've passed. Just picture them telling me this. Thank you for this pure gold of a song.
I think the vast majority of "missing views" can be attributed to those who largely live country, as a way of life, aren't also surfing social media and you tube. But I imagine they are listening to it more than these views would suggest.
Beautiful song. I know buying that dirt is not a joke. I don't even know who made it that difficult. Whoever can afford to buy the dirt, it's worth it.
Recently purchased my first home at age 24. Now in the process of renovating it. Can say this song kept me going through the journey of many offers declined until one was accepted. Excited for the future. Everything is possible with hard thinking and hard work.
@@lindahuff8976people buy songs all the time it's how song writers make money, not all sing. Look at Sia she wrote hits for all the big names before performing herself.

I'm not sure why or how, but this song is giving me literal goosebumps... I landed on it randomly on Spotify yesterday, and I haven't stopped listening to it ever since
This song hits me hard now as my wife and I are about to have our first child very soon. Super excited and truly see the meaning in this song. We are by no means rich whatsoever but I thank the Good Lord everyday we wake up and everything we have! Make memories and love each other deeply. Life goes by real quick!
I honestly don't like country music but every so often a song comes along that just moves my soul. this is one of them. I can play it all day and not grow tired of it. In fact it's the one song I find myself constantly whistling, singing on the toilet, in the shower or just whenever I'm in the mood. Thanks for the beautiful song.
I'll tell ya to broaden your country music catalog. As a truck driver this song hits deep. Buy your own land, grow your crops and be independent. This song means so much to me, the lyrics are incredible. I would encourage you to find more great country music.
All music is like that to me. Some songs I like and some I don’t. I’m finding myself going to the country genre more often because I can relate more to the songs, like this one. It’s awesome and describes my life to the tee!
Such a beautiful song and video! My wife and I just bought farm land last month and we are preparing to build a little house and barn. The timing of this song really hits home. Thank you for this.
Picked a country station for the first time and this song came on. Tears down my face and I can’t wait to buy dirt, find the one I can’t live without, do what I love and call it work, throw a little money to the plate at church, send my prayers up and my roots down deep.

"Find a few things that matter, that you can put a fence around." I absolutely love this song for how simple and wonderful life can be for anyone willing to work for it.
Been busy with two littles and JUST heard this song today (by hubby). I've listened to it over a dozen times and BAWL! I LOVE the tribute to Prine, the music, the lyrics, EVERYTHING! We NEEDED this for a 'life reboot' today. Thank you! ❤️
This song gives me hope that one day people will realize you don’t buy happiness but you find it with what’s within, this song is what gives me happiness 😊
If we would just live life like this song we'd all be alot happier. Those material things in life mean nothing in life. In the end its what you pass on to others and how you treated people that makes you who you are. Peace out 🙋♂️
I just have to say, this song brings it all right back to the start of life and where and when times were good. For decades now, "they" have been selling us via TV commercial's and radio ad's, a way of life that just is satisfying as they make it out to be. This song explains where it is, and if we want real happiness, we have to work for it, not buy it. No expensive toy, house or whatever will satisfy our desire for peace and happiness, only our family and hard work can do that. HOOAH!!!
Just my two cents: the first time I heard this song, I bawled like a baby. I share it every time I get a chance, because the whole world needs to hear it, and remember the important things in this one life we get.
Dutch trucker here, Started to listen to country a few years ago. Rhythm is always nice when hauling through Holland and its surrounding countries. There was a moment I ran in to this song, I fell in love, had goosebumps all over me. The lyrics are very, very touching. Learning to find happiness in life is something that not a lot of people can experience. I my self have had a very troubled childhood and growing up with divorced parents at young age causes me to make a lot of stupid decisions in life. Choking up as I write this, I started to learn to find happiness in my early twenties, trying to surround myself with people that care. It's important to know that we need to remember our own roots, where we come from and where our hearts lay. Life is never easy and things are always unpredictable, but learning to live life day by day and enjoying every moment you have, can make a difference within a week, a month or even a year.
Glad y'all were able to hang and watch the premiere...it was really fun to make. Let me know what y'all think!

This song brings tears to my eyes. Thinking of my Dad and grandad who've passed. Just picture them telling me this. Thank you for this pure gold of a song.
Hello thanks for your love and support for country music 🙏❤️❣️
Same here as my dad passed also
You have my condolences
For how often I hear this on the radio I am shocked this doesn't have more views.
If the first part was apart of the radio version it would be a smash hit. " try and find Jesus all on your own"
I've never heard it on the radio but I'm still surprised at the views because this is such a great song
@@6.0king 100% Agree why would they take the begining out ?
I think the vast majority of "missing views" can be attributed to those who largely live country, as a way of life, aren't also surfing social media and you tube. But I imagine they are listening to it more than these views would suggest.
It’s only been on UA-cam 7 mos, with 15 mil views that’s pretty good. Like you said it’s on the radio so ppl don’t need to look it up on UA-cam yet.
No fan of country, but this song has my heart. ❤❤❤
Can't stop listening to this song. Country music has not been this good since the 90's. Love this and love these guys!
Hi
90s country was the BEST MUSIC EVER!
Thanks 🥰🥰,
How long have you been a fan?
John Prine wrote this song and performed it in every concert. Can't believe someone has messed with the title. Terrible rendition.
@@lindahuff8976people buy songs all the time it's how song writers make money, not all sing. Look at Sia she wrote hits for all the big names before performing herself.
Amazing vocals, blessed be who sends the message if Jesus ❤❤❤
God is good All the time. Great song🙏

I’m a Mexican immigrant and I love this country because I came from a different culture and country. And I can tell you, all you Americans are the best singers and everything but I learned English from listening to these songs. God bless my country and the U.S.A 🇱🇷🇲🇽
I'm not sure why or how, but this song is giving me literal goosebumps... I landed on it randomly on Spotify yesterday, and I haven't stopped listening to it ever since
Not by random, you were meant to hear this.
My grandma loves this song ❤❤
This Natural AMERICA ! ......i Love You many years ❤
I love being a father and teaching our sons about "value". What an incredible song that paints the picture of most of those lessons...
This is one of my favorite songs 😊
Long Beach California loves Jordan and Luke 🤠
This song hits me hard now as my wife and I are about to have our first child very soon. Super excited and truly see the meaning in this song. We are by no means rich whatsoever but I thank the Good Lord everyday we wake up and everything we have! Make memories and love each other deeply. Life goes by real quick!
Hope you and your family are doing well!!
This is exactly what I'm going to say to my grandchildren if I'm lucky enough to be blessed with them. What a song❤
Music crosses boundaries and brings people together. Welcome
Jesus loves you and is with you forever
I honestly don't like country music but every so often a song comes along that just moves my soul. this is one of them. I can play it all day and not grow tired of it. In fact it's the one song I find myself constantly whistling, singing on the toilet, in the shower or just whenever I'm in the mood. Thanks for the beautiful song.
Have you listened to Rich and Miserable?
Very well said Hardxkor!! I 100% agree with what you said
I'll tell ya to broaden your country music catalog. As a truck driver this song hits deep. Buy your own land, grow your crops and be independent. This song means so much to me, the lyrics are incredible. I would encourage you to find more great country music.
@@EverythingSonyQ Thank you Q R!! :).
All music is like that to me. Some songs I like and some I don’t. I’m finding myself going to the country genre more often because I can relate more to the songs, like this one. It’s awesome and describes my life to the tee!
It hits hard because this song is like you are growing a storie and growing a family
Such a beautiful song and video! My wife and I just bought farm land last month and we are preparing to build a little house and barn. The timing of this song really hits home. Thank you for this.
Picked a country station for the first time and this song came on. Tears down my face and I can’t wait to buy dirt, find the one I can’t live without, do what I love and call it work, throw a little money to the plate at church, send my prayers up and my roots down deep.
me too! heard this song for the first time when i was in boston, i was on the car and it played on the radio Boston 102.5 hahaha good memories!

I need to get my shit together and adhere to this message before it’s too late. My mother’s still living and I need to Buy Dirt near the family homestead. It’s a beautiful place. The dirt roads don’t bother me.
WHAT I F’ IS WRONG WITH ME?!!
Any update brother?
@@sigmasauce101 my mother wants me to take over her place. I’d rather buy a little something near her and expand on what she has. Her little place, honestly, isn’t worth renovating.
Her dementia is progressing and every month, I lie to her so I can bring her back to Phoenix with me. I can’t keep up with the six-hour drives, to and from her place. Jobs are scarce in her area.
I’m paying down all my bills in case I have to leave. I’m working on only having my cell phone and insurance. I want to leave with clean hands.

HOOAH!!!
Well said! Thank you
Amen....keep it simple and appreciate the little things!!❤❤

Some proper life advice here .
Life really is simple when you break it down to what REALLY matters
Just my two cents: the first time I heard this song, I bawled like a baby. I share it every time I get a chance, because the whole world needs to hear it, and remember the important things in this one life we get.
Hi Kathie
Dutch trucker here,
Started to listen to country a few years ago.
Country music is very authentic and family rooted.
I love this song! Don’t stop writing songs. You have a great gift
