I just bought this on Amazon... I wasn't looking into an expensive turntable and speakers... My mother has over 600 vinyls from here brothers who are no longer with us... So I have a lot of music to listen to... From Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, to Imagination (Disco), Michael Jackson's Thriller etc....
This system reminds me of the kids record player systems that were made in the late 70's and early 80's. This is based on it's looks and the materials the system is made out of.
I've heard of the Gemini brand before and it's been around since the 80's at least with turntables/record players and I think even graphic equalizers back in the day. I've got to hand it to Gemini that despite the abundance of plastic and the ceramic cartridge (albeit with a diamond stylus, it appears), the sound was not bad at all and even those speakers did not disappoint. They weren't amazing speakers, but the sound was reasonable, particularly for someone just starting out with record players and records or maybe as a gift for a pre-teen or teenager getting a start. Plus, I do like the futuristic '2001: A Space Odyssey' style to the turntable and speakers and there is even a red -accented version that is quite striking (and a black version too).
VWestlife says this was also offered as the Altec Lansing ALT-900. Same package but in black! Like he did, I’m modifying mine to play 16” transcription disks.
For me this unit is easily better than all of the suitcase type units and as good as others of this type. $150 is a great price point especially considering someone who is looking to buy a Bluetooth speaker. Here they get that functionality and a solid record player to boot. Win-win here and a great over all review
I once had a Gemini brand Technics-like turntable. It came with a Stanton mat as well as a Stanton 500 series cart. It was a plastic knock off of the Technics but it did the job in my early days of posting on my channel. Ultimately, I donated it and one of the workers at the center bought it as soon as I put it on the counter.
That seems cruel roasting Chest's nuts on an open fire! Anyway, that Gemini turntable/speaker set actually was a bit of a nostalgia trip for me. Back in the later part of the 70's (I don't even remember the exact year), my parents got my three brothers and myself a "shared" present which was a turntable/speaker set not too unlike what was shown here, obviously without the Bluetooth feature. I don't even remember the model of that thing. I do remember it was primarily a blue color with white accents. I've used that thing right up until just before I left for college in the late 80's. In the 80''s I've also gotten a boombox for Christmas (which I still have down in my basement), and that covered playing cassette tapes and listening to the radio (how I spent many an evening listening to the radio with my finger hovered over the "record" button waiting for a song I wanted to record! I think I still have many of those tapes!). That set that I had did actually sound pretty good and it is really awesome to see such a similar set is still available for a pretty reasonable price today. This would be an excellent Christmas present for an older child such as a preteen into the early teens if they want to listen to records. Back in the 70's when I got mine, that was pretty much the only way to listen to music, other than the radio or going to an actual performance. Yeah, that white space-agey looking design does fit in quite nicely for something with a "Gemini" branding, harking back to the Gemini space missions in the early to mid 60s.
Reloop 8000 MK2 Upper Torque Hybrid Turntable Instrument - I have never heard of this one before you might be interested in reviewing this brand.....it's on Amazon.
I bought it yesterday. One speaker was broken out of the box. Warranty number went to some scam for a $100 rebate. Tech support number went nothing, just hung up. I am returning it tomorrow.
Sorry about the chestnut fail. Don't give up. Research more on how to roast them. I had an early 1970s white Magnavox turntable changer. It was my second turntable. That shot was made to be added to another liquid, maybe water or something else. Informative video!
Hey guys I just returned another all-in-one and graduated to the cross lake Kota shelf system haven't gotten it yet but looks better thanks merry Christmas
Probiotics are health-promoting bacteria that live in your gut that are added to foods like Yogurt. Prebiotics are normal foodstuffs like bananas or asparagus that promote the flourishing of good gut bacteria (basically the probiotics eat the prebiotics you put in your stomach with them). So if you get probiotics in your diet, eat prebiotics to nourish them along, e.g. eat yogurt with a banana.
What a huge world of difference between this Gemini and the DigitNow. This would be a good value between $65 and $95, so the $84 asking price is excellent. Matches the sound, so to speak. The speakers look kind of 'meh,' but they work well. Not too hip on the all white color, but if it's available in other colors, I would definitely consider buying one.
This is a nice TT I have seen these on Amazon but you are the first person that I have seen to review it the platter for a plastic looks really hefty I saw very little wobble it sounded good to me and on that tracking force it is not bad I bought for collecting purposes a crosley Stack-o-matic the cart was a ceramic but the cantilever was plastic and you could not get the metal one so I replaced the cart with chuo Denshi clone with a diamond stylus which looked like that Gemini had the stylus had that grey hue the specs on it was 4 to 6 grams of tracking force if it were lighter I don't think it would harm LP since it is tracking light all u would hear is distortion it's actually floating on record I played with the setting since the stack-o-matic is adjustable but I got it to 4 88 grams it sounds fine so I think it is good ,to me that was a great deal !! Not bad JRo📀
Are you certain that cartridge is ceramic? There is a magnetic version of that same Chuo Denshi style cartridge, commonly used in Numark DJ turntables and their ION brand knock-offs, and marketed commercially as the Numark Groove Tool; that might be why you are getting a better bass response on this unit
And this player kind of reminds me of the Crosley T150 C in white. Which one do you think is a better value considering that the Crosley is 160 on Amazon right now?
I am impressed! I like the white colour but also it sounds good, the tracking is not over the limit and the price is right for someone looking for their first system! Oh I can take big swigs of raw apple cider vinegar with no issues haha If chestnut are cooked right they actually taste really good!
this would be a fantastic entry level turntable package if they had spent the extra $5 to have an at3600l cart. Still seeing these dirt cheap ceramic carts on budget turntables doesn't make any sense at all in my opinion. A 3600l and stylus only cost like $5-8 through a manufacturing OEM
I always think of Gemini as an economy DJ brand, if you can't afford Technics, you get Stanton, and if you can't afford a Stanton you get Gemini.

Does it sound good? Litterally the only thing about your comment ppl care abt.

Seems like a perfect entry-level turntable for a young teenager!

I've had a Gemini XL200 manual belt drive since 2004. Still works perfectly with original belt.
I really like the vibes this cool turntable and speaker set is giving off.
Vibes 😂😂

It would look great in a 1970s listening room with one of those egg swivel chairs!
Your reaction was my reaction to Jose Cuervo 1800!
I notice on Amazon it comes in 3 color choices I dig the red n black I'm have plenty of record players but it looks pretty 😎

Stormtroopers everywhere will want one.😀Great review love your channel.
Just found one for $20 from a whole seller. They even threw in 10 records. Definitely couldn't go wrong, especially as a present for my mom.
Exactly!
nice starter 👍🏻

Oooooooo! This is gonna be a good video!♥️
Hey guys I just returned another all-in-one and graduated to the cross lake Kota shelf system haven't gotten it yet but looks better thanks merry Christmas
looks like a rebranded one you did the other day with a few different stuff
Are there generic dust covers for this unit?
Excellent review by the way?

By the way what was that Disco song at 15:08 ? Thankx !

great video,,, and that looks like a really nice turntable, very enjoyable video

Any Clue of how to change the needle?
Any video about it?

Its not a groove-tool. We come across those from time to time however.
Enjoys shopping
And this player kind of reminds me of the Crosley T150 C in white. Which one do you think is a better value considering that the Crosley is 160 on Amazon right now?

It would taste like reflux spew!
Mine was fine and started skipping once I removed the plastic
Can you play the record to your phone via Bluetooth instead of the speakers?
Great 👍 review ! Please if you can also include the estimated price when you review these products so we get a ballpark figure on how to spend.
At $84 it would be a good beginner system. No way I would pay the almost $160 Amazon price though.
I just found a new one for $20, definitely couldn't go wrong at that price.
Well it won't rust!
Strange but it,s a nice white recordplayer !!
How do you set up the red and black (cables?) to the speakers and player?
This looks like something you would get at Family Dollar
Is that recordplayer availlable in Europa , maybe in my homecountry the Netherlands ( Holland ) to ???
Looks nice! Great forva student
Could you do a review on a Crosley Fusion or Ryder? I’m thinking of getting one of those! Thanks and keep up the good videos!
Nice starter turntable! For a younger child it would be perfect or teen! Oh I think it's better then Crosley! LOL
How do you set up the speakers
Gemini is good more for dj equipment I have a Gemini amplifier and a turn table I like it
tweeter soft dome ?
My speakers sound kinda werid

Do you have to put the c-clip back on ?
You don’t have to
You forgot how to put the drive belt on
Rewatching this video, I'm really impressed with this sweet turntable. I'm definitely going to get myself one once I've got 80 bucks to splurge. 💗💯👍✌🖖
What is a Duodenschi clone? I try google but no result?
Try 'Chuo Denshi'....!!😂
It's a Japanese ceramic cartridge. The 'clone' is a very cheap Chinese knock-off.....
@@stevesstuff1450 oh, thanks, well I am not from Japan and I dont speak that language. That was a long mystery for me, finally I can sleep again.
I remember when my family tried the chestnut thing years ago. It was awful. 😄
That vinegar is perfect for killing fruit flies, not much else.
I would probably pay around $125, but $150 seems to me a bit much for this unit.
Always gotta have clean nuts !!! Not sure I want to cut them , I hope you're nuts aren't burnt !!!! Pain
Ha!!!!!! BOY that looked yummy NOT!!
Awesome video
Next time you drink apple cider vinegar, put it in fruit juice. It'll help kill the taste 😝
soon as i spotted the red ,its thumbs down from me sorry....
Medicine has to taste bad to be good. Hee, hee!
Lol dude vinager belongs on a salad not turning your throat into sand paper lol.
😂😂
