- Hello friends
Today, let me show you how to make these very cute and versatile components for your jewelry making. Using 11/0 seed beads, we will look at how to weave a simple tube, how to close it and zip it together, and I will show you various ways of using them.
They are so useful in lots of jewellery designs, including earrings, and necklaces, glasses chains, etc. so I hope you love making them.
Materials you will need:
11/0 seed beads
A good firm beading thread such as Nanofil or Wildfire fishing line etc.
Size 10 beading needle
Scissors
For the jewellery making you will need:
0.8mm (20g) wire of your choice
Flush cutters
Chain nose pliers
Round nose or 6 step pliers
I would love you to check out the channels of these wonderful artists:
/ @jillwisemandesigns
/ @bronzeponybeadedjewelry
Both incredibly talented artists and superb for beginners.
Have a wonderful week and I will see you soon x
Hi, I started to watch this the other day but had to leave it. Next day I got an email from a site I shop that they were having a $1 sale on seed beads (full size containers). I did the sale and will have lots of colors to make these. So I want to thank you for helping me spend my money, lol! I will have fun doing these. Thanks for sharing.
lol I’m so sorry for enticing you to spend 😭😭
It’s not about the hands Sam, it’s about thee beautiful things those hands make! And those are beautiful ! X
Absolutely right 🥰 and thank you! ☺️
You are absolutely magical Samantha!!, there’s nothing you won’t try and are very good at everything you do. That’s me, know a little about many things, etc. I love this tutorial Sam, I have been wanting to get into beading and you just gave me a perfect intro to start. Thank you so much. What am I doing?!?!. I saved a small birdie’s life. He flew hard into a large glass door, I brought him in from 90* weather, calmed him down, gave him a little water. When he settled in my hand I sent him on his way home.
That’s wonderful 🐦 and I’m sure the little guy is grateful for you 😍
I’m a fan of any season I’m still alive. I think your hands are beautiful. I love these components. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with us.
Thank you! 😊 I’m pleased you enjoyed the video
Thanks, Sam. This style necklace will make a nice, sturdy chain for my readers.
Perfect 😍
Thank you!! This is the 1st time I've actually understood how to do peyote stitch❤
Glad it was helpful! 😍
First day of Spring here in Australia, my favourite time of year. I live in the New England region, highish altitude, so it's carnival of flowers time. Deciduous trees springing to life and the days getting warmer. Nights still chilly.
Sounds beautiful where you are. 🥰
I've never tried bead weaving. I've never seen it being done before. I'd like to give it a try, but will have to wait until I can go to Hot Springs next month. We don't have any type of craft store in this little rural town. Thank you for such a interesting tutorial. I really like the components. They are so cute. Oh, and I love spring and fall seasons. I don't much care for summer or winter. Have a wonderful day.....
You too, Jeanetta! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend, and that you and your family are all well 😍
Nothing wrong with the hands. They create, so they do perfectly what they were made for. ❤ . Thanks for this tutorial. I will even give this a try.
I love, adore eardecorations, in every form, size or shape.
Thanks for mentioning the wire sizes. Both inch and cm, tháts the usefull information. When lacking, it's also often the reason to watch and move on.
This time 🙂.....
You’re welcome 😊 and thank you for watching
Samantha, another great video. And something new for me to do. Thank you so much
You’re so very welcome, Deborah! I’m really happy you enjoyed the video. I hope you have fun making these. They’re so versatile and so much fun to make 🥰
Beautiful!! Thank you!
You’re so welcome 🥰
Never thought to use peyote in this application....cute and with all the colours available in beads, you can pretty well colour match anything! Love it.
Absolutely perfect for matching outfits ☺️
These seem simple enough for my amateur hands. We're getting ready for a hurricane here in Florida.
Stay safe ❤️
@@samanthalatimer1 We will. Last year we rode out a cat 2. This one shouldn't be any worse where we are in central Florida.
Be safe! 🙏
@@MelSmith-dx6vu We're safe after Milton made a mess of parts of Florida. We are bless that we had no serious damage on the house. We didn't even lose electricity this time.
Thank you. I've been wanting to learn bead stitches for years. (I'm 66.) Thank you for recommending Jill Wiseman & BronzePony. Thank you for this tutorial!❤❤❤️
You are so welcome! 🤗
Beautiful
Thank you ☺️
I like these! Good job
Glad you like them! ☺️
Such beautiful links lovely necklace Samantha thank you!🌷
You are so welcome! ☺️
I like Spring into the early Summer and Fall best. Each season has a virture of it's own and something redeeming about it. Your hands make BEAUTIFUL things, therefore, your hands ARE beautiful. Also, while I do like to see beautifully manicured hands, sometimes the fancy fingernail are a distraction to the project being done. I don't know what I am looking at. But then, that's just me. It may not bother anyone else. I just lov what you do. You are a sweetheart.
That’s so kind of you, thank you so much ☺️
Love all 4 seasons in IL but right now is starting fall which is very nice!
I do love Autumn so much. Such amazing colours everywhere 🍁
Every time you said pop I took a shot of cognac.
It's quite beautiful idea there, I'm going to try it, love working with seed beads.
Ooh a lovely Cognac 🥰
Hi , these are lovely, I’m just practicing this stitch myself, sat here doing brick stitch on triangle frames today .Weather has been mixed here in Somerset today so don’t feel guilty sat beading. Took a lot of pieces down to a shop in Watchet where I have a “shelf “ . Now making pieces for Xmas fares . ❤
Sounds like a wonderful day to me ☺️
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Yes, agree with Wend Moyer below. Plus, I often find manicured nails distracting from the beadwork. Wonderful video! Love it! Thank you for sharing.
You’re very welcome ☺️
Hi Samantha I love EARRINGS I've 43 pairs of Earrings made 👍🤣👋💖
Haha that’s VERY impressive 🥰🥰
God bless you, you have so much more patience than I do. You are very talented and the beads are beautiful. I enjoyed the finished product but just can’t get into the making. Thank you for sharing. I love being exposed to so many techniques.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Yes, Jill Wiseman is amazing. You should check out " off the beaded path" Kelly Dale another amazing teacher teacher. ❤
Yes she’s superb, isn’t she! Soooo much more talented than I 😍
Recently discovered your channel. I'm in New England in the US where the colors are beginning to turn. I'm a wire wrapper and weaver. Have always been interested in trying a little beading and you're the only one I've watched who makes it look fun rather than tedious! Also love your sense of humor. Thank you!
Ah that’s so lovely of you, thank you! I bet the colours in New England are just stunning 😍
I’m a spring/summer gal…all the warmth, all the time!
Can’t wait to try this; don’t typically weave, but I’ll try it out. We are travelling south for the winter amd I’m sure my one bag will be filled with pliers, wires and beeds!
Perfect travelling project 🤗
Samantha, I love you. You are great. I've never had anoint explain that bead stitch stitch as clearly as you did. Thank you. I want to say thank you for showing all of your work because there might be someone out there like me, that have seen or not seen it done before. Thanks have a great day.❤❤❤
That’s very kind of you, thank you ☺️
BEAUTIFUL Set!
Thank you! ☺️
Love this! So meditative! I’ve been wanting to learn peyote stitch! This seems to be a great introduction.
! Autumn is my favorite season as well!🍂🍁🌻
Hope you enjoy making yours 😍
I love spending time watching you teach us new techniques! You are so pleasant to listen to and patient in teaching! Thank You!
Thank you for watching 🥰
Your work is so professional looking and so beautiful! Could you do a video on how you make your ear wires?
Of course! I’ll put it on my list ☺️
@samanthalatimer1 Awesome! Thank you Samantha :-)
THANK YOU SO MUCH SAMANTHA!!!❤❤❤
Autumn is my favorite season too! I am in New Jersey in the USA 🇺🇸. Love your videos!
Awesome! Thank you! ☺️
Thank you so much. As always I can't wait to try this technique. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Blessings 🤗🌻
Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Peyote tubes are so versatile. You can do all sorts of bead patterns. I like to do this with delica beads but I’m loving the more organic look with the seed beads ❤
They’re great aren’t they. You can use them for all sorts of things 😍 I do use the delicas too but I did like the look of the regular seeds for this one ❤️
Autumn is my favorite season as well. 🍏🍁🌰🎃
🍁🍂🎃
I love your attitude!
Thank you 🤩
I just had to pop in to let you know I really enjoy your content ❤
That’s so kind of you! Thank you ☺️
Thank you for the video as you always have very creative jewelry to make!
So nice of you, thank you ☺️
Cocktail beading, I can get into that! Thank you for the tutorial! As usual it’s very concise.
You are so welcome! 🤗
I love fall and winter.
Me too ❤️
شكرا علي مشاركةأعمالك احببتها واحب طريقة كلامك شكراً
Thank you ☺️
Professional, beautiful, simple, creative, new with training of key points
Thank you very much!
Hi Samantha! The earrings are so pretty. Did you know that the Delica beads would work better in this design? I always use the Delica’s in Peyote. Of course you can always use the round seed beads if you prefer. ❤😊
I do use delicas too but thought a rounded look would look cute too ☺️
These look absolutely gorgeous, I’d love to try. Thank you Sam, have a lovely weekend x❤. I have made a candle today, and been doing watercolour painting. So lots of different things going on with me. X❤
Oh that sounds wonderful. What fragrance candle? And watercolour is so beautiful. You sound like you’re having a relaxing time xx
@@samanthalatimer1 the candle scent is jasmine and ginger, it smells great, but haven’t burnt it yet. This was the first candle I’ve made. Fingers crossed it’s a good one. I made the container for it to. X❤️
Samantha, I found if you put a drop of "Fray Check" on the tip of the thread and squeeze between finger and thumb to wipe off it keeps the thread just right to thread needles
Ooh thank you! I’ll definitely check that out! 🥰🥰
I have some very tiny seedbeads. I was wondering what to make with them? Thank you so much Samantha for your excellent tutorial and inspiration! ❤
You are so welcome! 🤗
These are great! Thank you!
(I have Hobbit hands too!)
lol at hobbit hands 🙌 I’m a huge LOTR fan so this made me laugh 🤭
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome skills! I'm learning so much. I also watch another lady, Kate who is in Northern England also, The Last Homely House. She does quilting and fabric crafts.
I follow Kate too. She is just wonderful and I love watching her videos 😍
You have nice hands perfect for demonstrating how to. Those with large bright coloured nail polish distract from the jewelry.
Thank you! 🙏
I enjoyed watching your video
Thank you
Do not call your hands ugly!! While i love a well-manicured set of nails as much as the next person, your hands are perfectly lovely!
Ah thank you so much ☺️
I like these. Once I master the cube (4 beads in each row) I will try a hexagon (6 beads in each row).
Absolutely 💯 They’re also very pretty and versatile
Really enjoyed this thank you, what are the beads you used to cap the ends of the beaded station that you just made please and thank you
I just used some heishi beads. Made from howlite. ☺️
@@samanthalatimer1 thank you
Imade these earrings a while back and have now been making them with 2 color of beads. When I get them all finished I will share in the group. Have a wonderful day 😊
Ah that’s great! Can’t wait to see what you’ve made. I look forward to seeing your pics 😍
I like your ideas for using these “columns” I stole an idea from a picture I saw on Pinterest and made them with Miyuki Delica beads which gives it a uniformed look then added round size 11 beads for fringe.
I’ve made these LOTS with delica beads and you’re right in that they are more uniform. I just loved the more rounded look of these 😍
And also a link for the heishi beads too please and thank you ❤
Ooh I got those from Temu! I can try and find the link if you’d like?
@samanthalatimer1 yes please..if I look on my own for things that ppl say to look on a website etc...never fails I always end up buying the wrong thing. 😆 🤣
Fall I'm in west texas. Lubbock
Lovely 🥰
Would tiger tail do the job. ???
I would say no. Its too firm and hard, lovely ☺️
😮❤❤❤❤️💯🙌👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
🥰🥰😅🥹🥹❤️
Are Toho beads a good choice for these links?
I’d say so, although just pull out any beads that aren’t uniform in shape and size ☺️
Can you take a few moments some time to show what the copper jewellery looks like after it tarnishes and how customers respond when it does?
I’ve never had this issue so I’m not sure what to tell you. Maybe try and leave the copper to tarnish for yourself and experiment with sealants and such 🥰 When I used to sell at markets, most of my pieces were in sterling or coated metals, so it was never an issue. Whenever I’ve sold a piece latterly, I’ve asked the customer what their preference is. A lot of people who buy copper want it raw, as they believe in the healing properties of copper, but some have asked for it to be sealed. I always left it to them to decide after giving them advice on what happens. Some people don’t get reactions, some do. Others prefer the raw, whilst some like the patina look. I’d say it’s for you to experiment and see what you think for yourself ☺️ I don’t sell much these days as my personal circumstances don’t allow me to.
Think if you use a background without lines or texture (like this fabric has) the camera won't try to focus on the background instead of your work.
Thank you… it’s usually a great background and I’ve not had any focus issues with this particular one… not sure why it happened this time 😐
Personally, I'm glad to see someone who doesn't have 1.5-inch claws on their fingers doing beadwork. I see too many videos where the presenter is incessantly clicking those ugly things on the work surface, the supplies, etc. It's very distracting (to me) and I constantly find myself wondering how in the heck they manage to make anything when the nails are in the way. No need to apologize for having "normal" looking hands!
I do sometimes wish I had prettier hands though lol 😂
Hey Samantha how many Pairs of EARRINGS CAN YOU make in a signal day? I've made up to 6 pairs of Earrings in a day I've also made bracelets as well. But Earrings are my FAVORITE TO MAKE. Samantha I've made a Necklace set once and I wore it to Walmart and this lady she pitched a fit she wanted to buy it from me but I told her I made it for myself but she paid me $25.00 dollars for it 👍🤣 But she took it home and her granddaughter took it away from her, and I told the lady I didn't sale it to your granddaughter I sold it to you only then she said her granddaughter wouldn't give it back to her; but like I said it wasn't my problem you know Samantha? But anyway Samantha do you make Necklace Sets? Samantha I love making Earrings and Necklace Sets myself lol 🤣🤣👍
Love this tutorial! It combines my two loves of beading and simple wire work! What beautiful work you do and great instruction! Thank you again!!!❤
Oh my goodness! That’s a challenge! I’ll have to make lots and let you know 🤩🤩
That’s so lovely of you, thank you ☺️
Ok I'd sure love to see what kind of Earrings you make Samantha.
I can not see very well
Sorry I suffered from focus issues a little on this video
If like me some seed beads were bought ages ago, could you coat the finished item with a special coating (something like nail polish) to stop the colour rubbing off on you? I bought some of my seed beads ages ago so don't remember what sort they are. M of Aotearoa/New Zealandd
Ooh that’s a question! I’d think you could, so I think I’ll try that and give it a road test. Maybe try on a small sample and let me know how you get along 🥰
