    Nice job always enjoy the vids. It's 27 below zero here with wind chill. I don't wear any gloves in this cold, of course I don't ride in it either, lol.

    Thanks for this. I have been curious about picking up some cold weather gloves. I normally sweat so much, even in 30F weather that my thin, ventilated summer style gloves are soaked with sweat by the end of a ride and I normally don't feel very cold (even with just a jersey on) unless we stop for an extended period of time to BS and I start to cool down or if it is a windy day with a nasty wind chill.

    In the colder months I become a big fan of having some sort of pen or stylus that has a touchscreen compatible tip so you don't have to take your bulkier gloves off to manipulate your phone. There are days you'll be out there on the bike that you are not going to have a glove that has enough dexterity to be able to tap your smartphone screen accurately.
    Also keep a hand warmer in the pocket with your phone.

    When are you going to do full review on the trek rail 2022?

  • @mtbboy1993
    @mtbboy1993 2 роки тому

    I've seen reviews of fox gloves before and they wear fast, but not seen long term reviews wintter version, but you had issues with the seams, not a good sign, but might have been faulty seam due to manufacturing inconsistency, but I don't know if the winter gloves do too, but the100% gloves were more durable, but I've not tried any of them, can't find them in stock anywhere yet.I have Brynje liner gloves, and Endura mt500 gloves on the way, so will try that soon.
    My Poc Resistance Strong gloves wore fast, fit was great, bu wearing way too fast, and stretched palm, and failing seams and finger tips.

    Nice review and like these gloves. Have you guys heard of DHB? They make some really good winter gloves. They are well priced and and come in many varieties for winter.

    the leatts in fact need some time to break in the size, after that they'll fit you nicely 👍

    Thanks for this vid, on my 3rd set of gloves and still cannot get it right. My Fox gloves split in the same place as yours after 5 rides, not good. Will try the Leatt. One question, on some gloves the fingers are too short and can be uncomfortable when making a fist. How would you sayvthe Leatt's are?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 роки тому

      Finger length is good on them. Only tightness is around the knuckles when making a fist. Hope they work for you and your search will be over!

    are the other gloves water proof too, or just hte 100%? So far I've ridden with regular gloves, but sized up to use liner gloves, and nitrile gloves between if I need wind and water proofing. that has worked very well for me for years.
    But I might try something like this if they are good enough.

    Few questions, please. I’m cold natured, so I think your choices would work good for me.
    -What do temp range and humidity levels do you consider ‘really cold’ for the 100% gloves ‘cold’ for the Leatte gloves?
    -Have you given the Leatte gloves a chance to “break-in”? I’ve found that sometimes I have to break-in some gloves, after a few rides they feel awesome.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 роки тому +1

      Really cold would be 30-34 degrees without much sun and humidity somewhere in the 30-60 range. For the Leatt's I'd pick those for sunny days 36-38 and up.
      I've had the Leatt's over a year, so yes they are broken in and why i typically size down as i prefer a snug glove.

      @@TheLoamWolf Thanks for the quick reply. Did the Leatt’s get more comfortable with wear, or did the fit/feel stay the same?

      @@luis_mtb5101I wonder the same thing. I have been wearing ski gloves when it gets that cold, or colder.

    Could the slip you experience with the 100% gloves be due to going up a size?

  • @MrJwhittaker93

    What glove would you recommend to somebody who can only afford one paid of gloves that need to last the year please?
    I live in the uk. So temperature can range from 0-30 degrees Celsius with temps lower or higher being very rare and the 5 degrees at either end of the range being infrequent.
    If possible:
    I like a super thin palm
    I like as tight of a cuff as possible ( i wreck my gloves somewhere around the velcro strap interface with every pair and pretty soon into ownership ) never tried a pair without a strap.
    I like them windproof but doesn’t need to be waterproof.
    Silicone grips or similar in palms and fingers is nice but not 100% necessary.
    Snot thumbs are good, not 100% necessary.
    Touch screen compatibility that works with a think screen protector would be nice as ive only had pairs that struggle.
    Goggle lens wiper again would be nice.
    Not always keen on super simple/stealth looking designs. But at the sane time some are cool - i have black endura singletrack windproof gloves at the minute.
    Price doesnt really matter as long as the aren’t like £200.
    Is there anything you can recommend?

      I think the Leatt's could be a good option for you. But they will be warm in the summer.

    Shame most gloves are over prised and wear too fast, finger tips should have palm material that go over the tip. and I wish manufacturing consistency was better.
    I have many Poc gloves and the seams varied a lot. some were perfect some not. but I know some brands are better at this than others. The selling point of the Poc gloves for me was the knuckle protection and the perfect fit. but I hope to find something better.

      There are new 100% Hydromatic gloves that may be best as they're more waterproof than the White Knuckle's, our absolute cold weather favorite.
