- I've been asked if Incubus Wish You Were Here can be arranged campfire guitar style. Here's everything I got on the topic for you to decide for yourself!

I've been addicted to this song lately!! I'm a beginner and this is one of the songs I hope to master one day
get it!
the sound of that new taylor just sounds so beautiful
6 years BA. wowza
If you play it with major chords it sounds like 'Just Like Heaven' or 'Fade into you'. And now I'm realizing how many songs use that chord progression in A.
Wish you were here never bores me, gonna give it a shot even though i havent touched the guitar all that much lately.
Love your turtle Terrence too! Thanks Ryan!
Your videos are always so helpful! Thank you for posting
You’re awesome Ryan
Thanks for teaching us the way
cheers chris :)
That guitar just looks so great and sounds great too. Time to mix it up with the Jim dandy !
haha the dandy!
i like it... i play it
:)
I play it in a different way and it sounds really similar to the original. instead of playing B minor and D major, I play the full barre chord versions of B5/F# and D5/A power chords which are F#m11(also called B7sus2/F#) and A11 (also called Dmaj7sus2/A)
F#m11: 2-2-4-2-2-2
A11: 5-5-7-6-5-5
I prefer to olay that way, because I still play the power chords as they are "inside" these chords and I really like the sound of these inverted bass. So the chord sequence of the version I play is:
1. Asus2, E, F#m11, A11, E
2. Asus2, E, F#m, A, E (the, go to sequence 1 again and repeat this cycle)
Anyone else catch that green VW Beetle in the background?
Beautiful guitar
Boof! (or Boof's friend). Interesting lesson, nice to see the thought process.
hehe yes that was oliver
it's definitely the next song i'm gonna learn my next day off \m/ tks
get it.
It was fun and well done!
sankyoo!
Hard to tell where the earth ends and heaven begins.. great video
thanks tiger
Very interesting. Nice video Ryan =)
thanks king :)
I vote yes, but only with the ringey outey going up chords. See, you can even do the impossible 😲
i thought it was brilliant...easy to sing along to, which is THE thing that makes a campfire song
glad you liked it kevin :)
Can you campfire The Menzingers "Come On Heartache"?
Its pretty close to there for me. Id say yes. A cover should vary a bit from the original. Thats what makes it interesting. Kinda like dishes. You may have had potato salad before, but everyone adds their own secret sauce to dishes. Hence what makes it interesting. Many times Ive heard covers that were an improvement on the original imo and there it is. Its all opinion. In the words of Stevie Ray Vaughn "Its only a mistake if you quit playing". I think Kurt Kobain adopted that philosophy in song writing to great success. I say this one feels right. Take care Ryan. Love those campfires. 👍
love the outlook james
Ryan, which Taylor model is that?
Alright hear me out. Been wanting to gig crash into me but i don’t have fingers of steel like Dave. Crash campfire? Or is it impossible
I’ve had that thought but never explored - thanks for the nudge!
Ryan. What model is your guitar??? Saludos desde Chile 🤘🔵🔴🤘
224Koa - saludos!
next time can you wear purple sunnies. change it up a bit hahah
i got some nice new yellow ones from Love's
Please play the songs along before you introduce 😊
Lol I thought this was the Pink Floyd song
hehe
Yes. Doable, but sounds sharp as in opposite of flat.
I think you're sensing the lack of 5ths in the bass

The verse just doesn’t sound right you can’t sing the same pitch without the original notes
