Being raised on a small working farm myself ( pigs, cows, chickens, gardens, small fruit orchard etc. ). I can appreciate and respect all the hard work you and your family are putting into being self sufficient. Whew...I get tired just watching you! But in all honesty.. I miss those days of hard work, and the satisfaction you get from eating the fruits of your own labor:) I miss the taste of fresh milk, homemade butter, fresh bread and the taste of chemical free meat. Lord I could write a book on the difference in taste between store bought and homegrown. One question: Do you all make your own lard for cooking? Would love to see a video about the process of rendering the fat from your pigs and cows, into usable cooking lard if you do. It would be awesome to see the new methods verses the old school:)
I love seeing mama Rhodes or there in the garden. Even though we all love our kids, working in the garden is such a nice mental break/destresser. And then if the kids help... even better!😊💜🙏 great team work🎉🚜👩🌾👨🌾👦👦🧒👧
Have you tried companion planting? Hyssop, peppermint, rosemary, sage, thyme and southernwood keep cabbage-eating bugs away. I think onions work aswell
I’ve heard in the first year planting strawberries when they flower you should take the flower off so it concentrates more energy in making roots what do you think?
Wow..very impressive planting days. It looks so pretty too. Justin you are a man of many talents..keeping everyone going there at once. Of course it was all team work too. Yea family!!!
Spent 6 weeks babying our Curly Kale. Finally got them transplanted into the garden last evening. Went to water them this morning, and they were all gone! ALL OF THEM! Am crying here... Dern rabbits!
Make a little patch of fluffy dirt for the cats near your garden ... they need to dig ...they don't like the grass... you can make them a privacy fence with your old pickets :)
Are you all checking Teddy for ticks. I had moles and gophers, and we bought the vibration things and they worked great. For reference, we used 2 on hour 1/2 fenced backyard.
First to comment! Always love these videos. Very inspiring and educational. I frequently find myself referring to things I've seen here and someday want to do rotational grazing with my growing chicken flock!
I have the same problem with cats, there must be close to 20 of them some feral cats, they love my garden,Im trying every thing to deter them. They use the garden as a litter box and destroy plants.
We did the netting last year and it was great! Burr outside swimming this time of year? lol Hadn't been her in a while you guys have been busy. Moose is getting big wow!
Best way to make Donald not Peck you is to make yourself big! So go out big with waving your arms and smack his beak if he goes to bite you! I was terrified of Egor our sebastapol gander who would chase me around. Now he knows I'm the boss! You can also pick him up to show your dominance ❤️
Jonah and Josiah I loved watching your bad guy skit you just posted! They always make me laugh! Your next video you should try riding your pigs! Pig riding is very fun! I love to do it with our pigs! Keep posting videos!
Sure did! I know it's not text book and we should let them scab over blah blah blah. But we've done it like this for years and it's fine. Sometimes you should forget the rules and just plant.
I think you need to let those asparagus establish themselves for a year before you harvest.

Onions, herbs, and celery are able to keep pests away while Rosemary is able to repel cabbage flies.
Your family is amazing! Thank you for sharing your lives with us. God Bless you and your family! 🇨🇦

A little bit of vinegar with water or lemon if you do decide to spray the cats as a way to keep them out.
Love to see you all working together. I wish you a fertiele growing season. 🌱☀️💧Greetings from the Netherlands.

Lavender can help with cats, I use it in my garden. They hate the smell!
To keep the cat out make sour apple spray with one part apple cider vinegar and 10 parts water

Oh no!
Poor Justin you need to be three people
I have to hide my scissors from my husband and kids too. They use them and then NEVER return them (lol).
This is just such a beautiful way of life! You guys are awesome 😄😄
Wonderful video. Love the part where y’all moved the sheep. Fantastic
Didn't plant seeds myself this year but as of today 216 plants planted in the garden.
BOSS!

That was some great footage with the drone! And the garden is really coming along!

Yes, but not right now.
❤️ thank you for inspiring us every day!

What's stopping you (from moving your chickens)? One net, move it once a week :) You can do it.
Kale will get bug bit. But the cabbage, broccoli are much worse. The white butterflies lay the eggs turn into the worms. I sure you know this
Penguin is such a cute chicken :)
Rebecca you could use grass sod stakes. Their like little mettle stakes you can use to hold it in place and you dont have to use the sand bags.
That was so good! Really good job MOM!
Really enjoyed this episode!
You're not suposed to harvest the asparagus for 2-3 years after planting so you allow the crowns to strengthen and produce thicker shoots.
Neat drone footage! Seems like a fun task for the kids
Justin I noticed in your last vlog that stud muffin had a lot of flys on him no bird houses?
I have the same problem with cats, there must be close to 20 of them some feral cats, they love my garden,Im trying every thing to deter them. They use the garden as a litter box and destroy plants.
Did Mr. Brown get a peanut roll? 🤣
Lol lol I have but one question to ask😁 is there anything you don't do? Absolutely cool.
Love the content! really enjoy the videos and all the hard work you guys do!! Thanks. and remember to SMILE!!!!!!
love your videos! keeping it real 🤙
Hey my cat kills moles maybe yours will as well so letting him in the garden may not be so bad

what are the hoops called that you put on the garden?
What happened with those blue light glasses you all were wearing in the evenings?
Good teamwork. Fine fine farm!
We go to bed before dark now.
We did the netting last year and it was great! Burr outside swimming this time of year? lol Hadn't been her in a while you guys have been busy. Moose is getting big wow!
Unbelievable and beautiful garden so far.
Is there a reason why you don’t plant a few fruit trees?

Pick the flowers off the small strawberry plants so they get bigger before fruiting
I was gonna recommend the shock or not for the cats, I was curious about that too
Hi when are you planing to breed your sheep
Does Arune have another garden? I noticed that was his old garden.
He's got a small one at his house now. But of course, as a perk for working for us he can have all the veggies he wants :)
Looking forward to growing mine. :s
Where did y'all get strawberry seeds/plants from?
Natural Gardening Company
Did she plant the potatoes right away? After cutting? I hope not!
Sure did! I know it's not text book and we should let them scab over blah blah blah. But we've done it like this for years and it's fine. Sometimes you should forget the rules and just plant.
I love ❤️ your family.
