- A major reinforcement operation is underway to bolster security forces in the French Pacific island territory of New Caledonia. The airlift of police and soldiers follows three nights of protests over electoral reform. Four people have died in the unrest, including a police officer.

I agree. The White people should leave, so the natives can get back to starvation and cannibalism which is their natural state. It takes constant supervision and strict discipline from the French to make sure the natives remain civilized.

To be clear, not everyone on the island wants independence. They’ve had 3 referendums on it, though only the first 2 are legitimate. All 3 voted to remain with France, though the first two by a somewhat slim margin.
These recent riots were sparked by a proposal to change a part of the French constitution so that white and Polynesian Frenchmen would have a greater say in N.C. politics. The natives, mainly the pro-independence natives, are very unhappy about this proposal, and have started these riots.
I have no say in this, as I am American. I just pray a peaceful resolution, either for independence or not, is reached.
