I’ve encountered a friendship like this in the military with a guy from Romania. He earned his citizenship and we deployed together. I’ve encountered another person like that while gaming online. I was sailing the seas as a pirate and was snooping his base with a friend. He noticed the ship and asked in global chat about it. We began talking and I invited him to join our ranks and he could keep on doing things as he wanted as an equal. That’s been 7 years now and I get the same vibes. I spend most everyday in communication with a few friends. I was traveling with my family and he was hospitalized so we drove from Colorado to Michigan to meet him in person. We’ve since considered moving up there. I can’t speak for everyone but good people like this seem incredibly rare. You get a sense of family with them. I’ve talked about it explaining how my wife doesn’t have friends like that and perhaps it’s a guy thing to develop bonds in fellowship.
So sad seeing Ragnar and Athelstan so full of hope and ambition 😢 When that jealous nut Floki killed Athelstan that began Ragnars downfall , he never would've been getting strung out with Lidu if Athelstan was still around

The Norse would have never made fun of Athelstan for having well kept hair and clothes. After the Viking invasion of England, the Danish men were highly sought after by English women because of their excellent grooming and hygiene. So the depiction of Vikings as dirty and uncivilized is inaccurate.
