This is amazing.
Next video idea perhaps? Please do!
Wow! Hey Dustin! Definitely a few different SED topics here, but also dangerous work.
Just casually responds on some random video with nobody here.
I thought you were fake
I'm honored to have the same algorithmic suggestions as smarter every day! Hell yea!
What I find pretty crazy is how corroded and rusty the pipe looks but yet that’s our drinking water! A video on scuba diving repairs would be incredible!
Definitely takes a unique set of skills and courage to perform this work.
I think it pays well but almost no amount of money could compel me to do it!
@@Pow3llMorgan $10,000,000
He can always go work for Seal Team 6
@@Pow3llMorgan Nope. Nope. No. Nooooo. I stopped watching at 1:42. I had to step outside. I've been in some bad situations but not doing claustrophobia + drowning. No sir!
They put Joe Dirt in the hole lol. But done a great job on it.
Ive worked in the water and waste water world for over 30 years now- Some of the divers are in their 60's and still working because this type of industrial repair takes a really special type of diver. Ive seen a few ocean rig guys quit on the first day due to the environment. Alot of the time these guys are diving in waste water plants or some type of process water in a large manufacturing plant.
I’m a Tower crane Operator and many tell me I’m crazy…..but this gave me crazy anxiety!!! Much respect y’all!
You are fucking crazy. I do cured in place pipe I’ll crawl a sewer line San or storm b4 I ever get close to a crane. If you fall you see it the entire time, if a pipe collapses while crawling you don’t even know it
I would much rather do the diving/welding than sit in a tower crane! I’m a LBC and Squirt boom operator but don’t have the nerve for the heights you guys work at! Takes all kinds!
ya for real. this one made me anxious too. pretty wild
Wow, I want to see more stuff like this on UA-cam. If you could keep making videos I'd watch every single one. This is someone at the absolute edge of expertise and ability in their profession to be able to do stuff like this. And to think, yall are climbing under my house all the time to make sure my faucet turns on when I need it to. Its obvious this maintenance is needed but you never think about it. These are the kinds of videos that give kids dreams.
This is a little different than roto rooter going to your shithole house.
@@J.G.Wentworth69420 ok
You might like tower antenna replacement videos... a group of guys hanging on by wires, on top of an antenna tower 1km high in the sky. with about 10sqft of working space while a chopper hovers 50 ft above them carry the antenna they are replacing.
The number of skills and disciplines to do this kind of work is incredible. It’s no wonder they’re paid well, they’re worth their weight in gold.
The world could never operate without people like these.
I used to drive around in a single person vehicle looking for IEDs and landmines... But this guy's job is nuts.
Lol the army let you seek out mines alone? Thats cap
Modern day tunnel rat lol. Glad you made it though
@@mftripz8445 he didnt say alone, he said in a single person vehichle.
@@mftripz8445 look up Husky VMMD, it's typically the lead vehicle for a rout clearance platoon. Not alone, but can feel that way.
Thank you for your service.
This is incredible. We have no idea of the infrastructure below us and of all the people who work in crazy conditions to keep it all going. Wow, thank you!
@@shockwave6416 Women would've designed cities and infrastructure entirely differently if they had had equal opportunity to do any of that.
This is one of those real "dirty jobs"
@@SikanderIqbal Tinfoil hat nonsense. They have more opportunity than men, and still those fields are dominated by men.
For real though! Well said lol
I’ve done dry repairs 375’ down on much bigger diameter and 100’ in on same. This job actually gives me the most anxiety of any youtube video i have ever seen.Straight up knarly.
What an incredible job. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing but respect for the people who do this job. Very high starting pay and very short life expectancy.
Facts
Guys is probably making $25 to $35 an hour. There are exceptions but dive pay isn't always what people think.
Pay is awful, especially considering the risk.
This is a new definition for "A Man Of Steel". Not msny people has the mental abilities to do this work.
Mind over matter...and money.
Doesn't look that bad. He makes it look easy. Nice work
Thinking back in the early 90s when I was doing inspection work in double -bottom tank of ships in southeast asia with minimal safety equipment provided. Thank God I'm out of it now. You guys stay safe in there.
People that go into things like this willingly, are insane. I am glad we have you people. Thanks for being crazy enough to keep water l;ines like this going!!!
Extraordinary skill and courage....unsung heroes of daily life......salute
And I thought fixing steam leaks in small tunnels was bad...this is a whole another level! If I got stuck at least I could still breathe!
Lot of people say it takes a unique set of skills to do this. No it takes you unique type of person to do this, to go down that far in a tube underwater nonetheless is insane. You got to really be a person that can handle his breathing and nervousness. It helped that it was a pretty good diameter pipe, any smaller claustrophobia with a set in for me immediately.
**FARTS LOUD AF**

Nerves and balls of steel to be able to do this. Gave me a touch of anxiety just watching it. Stay safe down there.
Utterly astonishing that such work goes on unknown to the public. Fabulously good quality video and such accomplishment with skill and bravery. Congratulations to all.
Of course this is Cleveland. Some of the hardest working humans out there who wont complain about how hard or bad a job is just get it done shoutout to you guys from a 330 feller.
No wonder LIz Lemon and Drew Carey love it so much...:)...
Nice to see an Ohio company, 330er here too.
I've been a fish in water my whole life been welding over 10 years, got my open water diving cert I'd love to do this. Literally would LOve it!
ua-cam.com/video/JoxCfh32500/v-deo.html
You have to go to school for it. The best deal that I’ve heard of was through the tech school in Morgan City, LA. Which cost less than $2000. Just for reference, I went to DAI in Erial, NJ. and it cost more than $40,000. All you need is an ADC card, nothing else matters.
Man that guy has got some self control there, i agree well deserved pay ...Its amazing they can fix that!
Looks a perfect job to me, no one nagging or moaning just go for a swim with some tools and get the job done, reminds me of some of the jobs I did in the dockyard
this is one of the most dangerous jobs because recently in trinidad 🇹🇹 4 divers died in something in the same process so respects to this guy for this job 👏 👍 🙌
Dive talk needs to see this!
Much respect. After seeing what delta p can do, I doubt I’ll ever go near underwater pipes.
This is so cool! What an awesome profession!
As a boilermaker, this is so trippy to watch.
watching the rust accumuliate over the course of the video is mind boggling
This is very impressive.
Amazing skills and technology.
Nice camera footage!!!
Brb need to hyperventilate while this man films himself repairing a pipe while scuba diving underwater inside of said pipe.
that’s maybe the last job I would ever choose to do
What an excellent repair process.
This repair doesn't come cheap!
Wow truly amazing!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻…. GREAT WORK!!!
Someone got a large cup of this guy when the water was turned back on lol. Awesome video, underwater welding is extremely dangerous.
"How was you day?"
"Oh fine. Just fixed a water pipe."
That job looks terrifying..
Balls of steel right there boys.
That's absolutely amazing. I'd like to see more like this.😁
I remember seeing a video about some Immersion divers that got sucked into one of these pipelines (all but one died). I couldn't imagine being trapped in something like this holy shit. You need all of your paycheck. No taxes for you.
These pipes should have liners in them!
I hope they pay him well. That's one job I would not dare do. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The unsung heroes
Wow! Great vid. Thanks for the insight, very interesting.
You got to have the biggest balls to do this job
The diver has two bailout bottles of air just in case something goes wrong with the hose line air support.
He is in direct communication with topside personnel. Microphone and speakers are in that helmet.
Panic kills. He’s very experienced and calm. Gets paid very well.
This is coming from a technical diver who’s made dives into a submarine at 150’ under the ocean.
God bless you guys. I’ve heard some horror stories. Much respect
What is the grout for?
I imagine that there was a lot of soil/rock washed away from the rupture and the pipe needed to be fully supported. It probably also provides a bit of sealant on the exterior of the pipe since it did not look like it was coated.
Fantastic guys thanks for sharing 👌🏼
That looks terrifying.
Fascinating process..
Salute to this man
Big money id totally do that!! Lovely part is im only 23 still in trade school so if I decided I wanted to do that i can later in life
Whatever you charging and paying this man is not enough.
Please please U.M.C more of this type of thing.
Well documented. Make your money.
I love my kraken lights
I didn't think it was UK. I know why some folk earn the big bucks. Scary, tight stomach for me watching through that. Good job, stay safe.
6:54 well Ohio isn’t in the uk. Retake geography.
Collect that check. Ya earned it.
Pretty interesting to watch 😮
you people are insane! Respect not a chance in hell i would do this
Would be great to know the rescue plan! Very tight environment. Did you have any issues with the collection of gases? Did you need to vent them?
Ya, he needs a raise. I’ll just keep plunging toilets at my maintenance job
appreciate you
Soooo many questions…
Life expectancy?
Is this a 30-40 year career?
I know I only asked 2 but I will cap it at that! 🤙🏻🔧🦅🇺🇸
Sweaty palms watching this, but I just couldent look away
This is AWESOME
That one crab video had me worried about delta p from start to finish
My biggest fear would be somebody turning on the kitchen sink and sucking me out of there 😂
I'm feeling anxious
So you're telling me the pipes I drink from are full of like 6" of loose dirt and rust? Sick
I wonder if the crack on the left of the screen ever got repaired, or if they are just waiting for it to completely blow out too.
Now THAT is a cool job!! :-)
Not gonna lie, that's some damn beautiful visibility you get in those pipes. I'd hate too have too drag the umbilical in though or forget a tool and have too go back too get it 😂 much easier when you can run a tool line too your work site and just have the tender lower shit. Fuck tanker inspections too
Our modern world is so dependent on the jobs we do not know they exist.
Bad asses at work!! cool stuff
Looks like a "patch" job. He will be back based on the amount of rust we see. Job security.
I never ran a stinger that long. What rods and amps ? Looks like 3/4 was magnetism of the old pipe an issue ? Loved pouring under water, only ever poured normal aggregate doped with sika.
I want this job!!
This is wild, but I'd be curious to hear if this is lighter in risk than deep sea welding. With that delta p phenomenon
I see some test plugs …4 inch? Pretty cool
I watch (recorded by GoPro camera) a group divers been trapped in this kind of pipe for two days without light, food and some broken bones after accident, and the worst the goverment refuse to send a rescue due to high cost. What a nightmare and scary way to die.
I had to open the bathroom door while watching this, just to make sure I had enough space…..
This man should better get paid very well! Risking his own life
The only thing I cant figure out is what size crane could pull those huge steel balls attached to a diver out of the pipe.... ...
I wonder if the air at the surface inside the pipe is breathable air?
whatever this guy makes, he needs more money.
Just had a panic attack watching the first 30 seconds.
There's a crack in the pipe to the left, close to where the camera is mounted, clearly visible around the 4:20 mark. Was that fixed too?
Is this where our clean water comes from?
dangerous job
What exactly was the problem? A little explanation would be helpful.
Are the tanks on his back, a backup in case of main line failure?
Does the water end up getting hot from this kind of work? Or in there enough flow/thermal mass that it doesn't matter?
It is a dream of mine to one day become and underwater welder, i already weld on land, it would be very challenging no doubt
How long did the whole repair take? Was there a danger of Delta P? That terrifies me.
